@Erkyos slash is my favourite guitarist. not because of his technique, but because of his sound. yeah, it's a very generic sound that's easy to replicate, but the way it makes me feel is something altogether different. and slash brought that classic, almost bluesy sound, into the 80's, a decade dominated by thrash metal and shit like twisted sister, and still managed to make it stand out. and it still stands out today, amongst the shit screamo stuff that's all over the place at the moment.

There is a reason most guitarist own one, not to be a follower or cool, but because they have a beautiful feel and quality build and sound. People say why on earth is an original Gibson Les Paul Standard 59' so expensive? ($50,000+) Because that year they used a certain wood and they never ended up using it again. And that wood had the best sound out of a gibson, and unique to this day!
