  • all that burger did the jobbb

  • thats one strong fat dude

  • who cares if you can lift that much when your fat?

  • @AdailyJayloss how about everyone including u? why are u on this video?

  • @AdailyJayloss Who cares how skinny you are when you're weak ? Show us how it's done !!!

  • Can he lift 600 pounds clean and jerk? I bet not because these are not Olympic professionally trained.

  • @Doooku

Can any Olympic weightlifter deadlift 800lbs 5 times. I bet not either.

  • @TheIrishny

To life something over your head and stabilize is something quite different than to life something over your knee.

  • @Doooku

And to lift something that heavy over your knee and hold is quite different to lifting a much lighter weight over your head.

One isnt better than the other.

  • @TheIrishny

If it were the case, why won't this Andy whom go to the Olympic and life 600 pounds over his head with his arms and knees straight upwards? The only reason I can speculate was this Andy whom can't do it. To life something over your head with the rest of your body straight up is something massively different than to life something over your knee.

  • @Doooku

The reason hes not going to the olympics is simple. His sport isnt in the olympics!!!

Your question is like asking why wont a UFC/MMA champion go to the olympics as a wrestler!

Or why a worlkdclass kickboxer wont go to the olympics as a boxer.

He cant do what an olympic lifter can do,and an olympic lifter cant do what he can do.

    Its that simple.

  • @TheIrishny Aside from perhaps Misha Koklyaev ;)

  • @Doooku ur stupid shut up

  • @Doooku olympic lifting isnt very practical. powerlifters and strongmen have a shitload more raw strength than an olympic lifter. all it is is technique, the clean and jerk is pretty much a squat

  • its so stupid, that the weights flip off on one side, thats very dangerous at that weight, because it can twist his spine!!!

  • @TheInGenCO stfu

  • god. Mende is such a blob lol.

  • There's some foreign looking dude in the background with no neck.

  • his name is Scott Mendelson and he is the best bench presser in the world both raw and with suit

  • @landreev No, on the other side.

  • @landreev Nope, Ryan Kennelly is the strongest bencher geared. Mendelson still holds it down raw with 715 lbs.

  • xmm Kennelly lifted about 5-10 pounds above mendelson record so you can be sure whos the better gear bencher now same with the raw bench press

  • I didn't know Fred Flintstone was a powerlifter.

  • theres a video of derek poundstone doing 800x9

  • @CurryProd Poundstone was weraring straps I bet.

  • notice there all fat......well except in the legs

  • @troynaruto11 are u stupid hes wearing a belt dude thast all muscles

  • the skinny guy in back in frozen in shock

  • would like to see him in a strongman battle or at the arnold strongman. see him match with savizcas,shaw,poundstone....

  • I like how Scott Mendelson just stares in aw in the background lol

  • @duhitsme25 yeah man it is pretty funny. He's got this look on his face like....whoah

  • Those hands could give a throat more than a massage.

  • .....That is fucking nuts. Nice to see he used his legs to rep 800 pounds. and put it down before the bar loses the plates on one side

  • This is fucking insanity...

  • really a billion kgs on the bar and no barbell clips

  • @Krelann There is but obviously not strong enough

  • @Krelann they couldn't fit ;) lol

  • @1bigmig1 Not by much cause bolton uses powerlifting gear when he does his lifts, Poundstone isn't very far behind him in strength and poundstone would fking hammer him in any strongman event!

  • @SlammedBeretta in deadlift, both of them would be blown away by magnusson and his raw lower back power.if even bolton is far away in raw power from magnusson, then poundstone doesnt have a chance.

  • Is he pregnant?

  • @corvettecentral pregnant? no. abs? YES.

  • pff Poundstone can do this 9 times.

  • @killamanqueenzz with straps lol, like to see him do it without straps.

  • Comment removed

  • the guy did 1008 . he could rep out with 900 pounds i guess

  • quick random question, why are the two middle plates on each side different sized then then the first inner plates?

  • "The weight explodes of the bar." That made my day.

  • poundstone can do that 9 times

  • @steriods4champions Last time I checked, you aren't allowed to use lifting straps in powerlifting; you aren't allowed to hitch either, without getting red lighted.

  • @RebelWrestler45 yeah well, its still impressive

  • wow he looks like fred flinstone on roids!

  • That could have been VERY dangerous with the plates slipping off the end. Glad Andy put it down just in time. The whipping motion could have seriously injured the guy. Who didn't secure the damn weight?!

  • @TheTrueFortress ive read on his site he doesnt blame anyone for the weight coming off he says its just something that happens sometimes with that amount of weight

  • @leeboy29680

Fair enough. I am glad he wasn't injured. Seems like a decent fella.

  • Magnusson did 5x400kg raw.

  • @Henzzman with straps

  • @THEGATHERING20 And without powersuit.

  • @Henzzman sure, but his 5 reps were not with a pause at the bottom, a significant difference.

  • @seltersss yes,but his weight was 400kg not 800lbs,which is a lot more and he managed to do it 5 times without a powersuit.

  • Since when did John Goodman get into deadlifting

  • @motomma Since his acting job failed.

  • <.< The weights fell off the bar on the last rep, failed lift. Other four are amazing though :D

  • super good form. wat else can u expect from a worldrecord holder

  • Scot Mendelson - every time I see that guy he's out of breath lol :P

  • @sbowesuk he has Asthma maybe thats why

  • Nice safety system. He must be glad he didnt do squats witht that.

  • Fuck me it's a giant Eric Cartman. Fuck he is ugly, what has he done to himself.

  • u know when ur safty clips fall off, Yea ur doing some heavy shit.

  • cheque drops...

  • Fucking love scott mendolson's face in the background

  • lol scott medelson in the back ground looks upset!

  • Talk about obnoxious strength..

  • Scott Mendelson thoughts: Bench only, bench only bench only..

  • @Nikkogran What sucks is that Scott Mendelson claims to be the worlds strongest man. Bench is one area of strength. Saw a guy one year win a huge meet by just benching. I did a full meet, so did most of the others but he was judged best.

  • @aardvark9100 I hear you buddy! I love big benchers, but a powerlifter is defined by the three B.E. All or non!

  • Straps can in fact add more to your dead lift than a suit would....anyone one youtube here that actually can lift some decent weight and has used a suit before knows that you really don't get much more of an increase in weight because of the suit, i mean just look at the top deadlifters and what they do raw, i think Konstantinov pulled only 10 pounds more with a suit. It can also ruin your lift at times. So thats that with the suit, now for straps?....well you can argue that your still

  • mendy in back!

  • Go Andy! Nice lifting.

  • u are 13 and you are a layer

  • im 13 200lbs and i can deadlift 612lbs raw no straps no suit with perfect form! :)

  • @13andincrediblycut I'm 13 and can deadlift 1000 lbs raw with perfect form, no straps either ( :

  • @iWorkoutToday lol at what? The truth?

  • @13andincrediblycut lol at your lies. Several months now but still no proof/videos explain that.

  • @iWorkoutToday You'll see.....

  • @13andincrediblycut funny joke

  • @13andincrediblycut from your video it seems you got 725 more pounds to go before you reach 1000

  • "All the way from Great Britain....to.....um....LAS VEGAS NEVADA!!!!!!"

  • and then scott mendelson standing behind him benched it.

  • @jaco1159 ha ha both bolton and him are legends!

  • @jaco1159 hahaha

  • can any 1 tell me where u position ur belt wen ur doing deadlifts. cuz wen i do deadlifts the belt pinches wen i go down.. its fucking annoying!! it seems likes this guys has it low.. but i was told i shud pull the belt up higher??? your thoughts please!!!

  • @kingi6030 try having the belt a bit tighter, lower and try having some of it on the skin even if its only half on your skin and half on your bottoms. this might not be the proper way i dont know but it works for me

  • what could andy bolton lift if he was using straps?

  • bolton coulda prolly done a set of 10 with straps

  • @gankzorzz do straps really make that much of a difference?

  • Dude... if Poundstone can pull 800 for 9, I wonder how many Bolton could do if the bar didn't explode.

  • @TirumphantAce and bolton don't have straps like poundstone does.

  • monster of deadlifting who wants to wrestle this guy?

  • Check out my videos!

  • mendy's in the background like wtf...lol.

  • Great display of brute strength. Bolton says he would have gotten 8-10 if they hadn't fucked up the collars!

  • LMAO!!! PAUSE IT AT 0:22 hahaa check out that tongue....its no effort at all to him, that guys a BEAST!!

  • is that scott mendelson behind him?

  • Andy Bolton is the strongest man

    on earth.

  • No, nowhere close, he's just another deadlift specialist, like Mendy and Hoornstra are for bench. There's a reason you don't see them dominating any full powerlifting tournaments. Still, huge respect to all of these athletes.

  • @RebelWrestler45 andy's not a specialist he competes in full meets as well

  • @ RebelWrestler45

Bolton is not a deadlift only type of guy.

He has a 2,806lb total (2007), which at the time was the world record total, including the world record squat of 1,213 and a 1,008 deadlift, leaving a 585 bench, which is kind of low for someone of his caliber, but nonetheless badass.

  • @Alderslodge Oh, my bad, I knew Bolton competed in 3 lift meets, but I didn't realize how big his squat was.

  • @Pentagonshark666 Maybe at the deadlift. Then again, you don't see the World Heavy weight Oly champion contesting deadlifts, same goes with men like Poundstone and Savickas.

  • A well-known powerlifter, a man I trust, told me he saw Andy Bolton deadlift 860 lbs (390 kilos) for 5 good competition-style reps, strapless. Then he did a second set of 5 with straps on. They were hard sets, but not limit efforts. This was in the summer of 2009. Does the word "brute" ring a bell?

  • HES A FATASS!

  • People only believe things if they see it but Poundstone did say he's done 830 x 5 strapless. He says his grips gives up beforehand so he does use straps. Yeah he did 800 x 9 with straps but i bet he coulda got atleast 5 if he claims he can do 830 x 5. It's on muscular development somewhere...look it up.

  • Comment removed

  • U do realize Derek had wrist bands there for his 800lbs lifts?

  • who cares....straps dont mean anything and he pulled for 9 reps he was going for ten he didnt hit 5 and then almost fail he did 4 more reps.

  • Straps help you a lot if you don't have a monster grip, Derek is himself a freak deadlifting 800 for 9 reps, but Andy is something else.

  • derek did touch and go and hitched like a mofo

  • sorry to bust your bubble, but poundstone does wear a suit. and poundstone doesnt dead a grand either.

  • Explode the bar off the ground? You are aware that Andy Bolton has RAW deadlifted 948 RAW in a competition from 2005 or sometime around then, right? Also, if you watch Poundstone's 800 X 9 video, he IS wearing a suit.

  • Bolton is wearing a suit in this video. I don't count any lifts with suits. Only belts. Powerlifting has become a circus act with all these squat suits and bench shirts.

  • It's true that Bolton is wearing a suit during this lift, but he has done some HUGE RAW deadlifts in competition as well. I believe a dozen 900+ RAW deadlifts in just a belt, so although he's wearing a suit, the deadlift suit, as I'm sure you know, isn't anything close to the bench shirt or squat suit.

  • Yeah, I think it's bullshit too. Anything besides belts and kneewraps are a waist of time. Do it raw!

  • I love how the lifters that use them claim the shirts/suits are used for safety reasons.

  • @Vazcular

I guess it helps with safety, but that isn't the main reason at all. You should be lifting that much weight if you can't do it RAW. It's cheating; next they'll put a mechanical crane under a guys ass and have him pushed up lol.

Powerlifting has become a freak show with all this stupid gear.

  • Yeah it's almost like a circus act.

  • @Andrew32488 bench and squat suits add hundreds of pounds deadlift suits do not. Andy deadlifted over 950 Raw, so regardless he is still the strongest deadlifter in the world.

  • Kneewraps are not just for protection, they give you serious pop out of the hole. In my book, its only raw if its 100% raw.

  • Yes, they do but it's still considered a RAW lift. If you want to use that logic you could say that using a belt isn't RAW either???

  • @Andrew32488 No, belts and wrist wraps offer structural support only, they do not offer any counter resistance like knee wraps do. Some organizations consider knee wrap use raw, others do not. 100% Raw federation doesn't even allow wrist wraps.

  • I can see your point, but wrist wrist wraps allow you to hit those heavy benches by keep your wrist straight. Hence, you only have to focus on the push. IT HELPS ALOT. Same with the belt because it helps you keep that big air in. They all assist. Including knee wraps.

  • @Andrew32488 Oh no question that they all help, my max bench is about 10 pounds better with my Inzer Iron wraps on; but wrist wraps and belt do not lessen the amount of force necessary to perform the lift, like knee wraps do.

  • ur a bullshit specialist bro.

  • Holy GRIP

  • Why is this so impressive? Derek Poundstone deadlifted 800 pounds for 10 reps during training (the vid is on youtube).

  • Poundstone does it with straps

  • It didn't seem like Bolton's grip gave out, but that he just wasn't able to lift the weight anymore.

Strapped or not, I doubt he would have pulled 10 reps.

  • Possibly, but once your grip starts going the entire lift does become a lot harder because it becomes the limiting factor in the lift. When you use straps the limiting factor changes more toward back/posterior chain strength. Which might be why it looked like Bolton couldn't lift it, maybe his back was able to but his grip wasn't.

    Just a suggestion

  • It makes sense.

  • If you look closely you see the weight actually fell off the end.

  • Yeah, it did. It's amazing that nobody thought of securing the plates at such a prestigious event.

  • His original plan was 8-10. But had he done touch and go reps like Poundstone, I guaruntee he could do 10.

  • @cyberkai99

Poundstone's reps seemed harder because he always had control of the weight.

Bolton just drops the weight at the bottom of the rep and you see that during the last rep his grip has loosened.

  • really? poundstone bounced the weight off the floor. do deadstop deadlifts and compare the two.

also, @ cyberkai99 he also def would have been able to do more if the weight didnt slid off the bar.

  • Andys grip went because the weights were sliding off, the collar popped of and he had an injury to his elbow which he has had surgery for which was affecting his grip

  • He only didn't do more because the weights fell off.

  • does he hold the world record for deadlifting though?

  • Amazingly, no. But he is a professional strongman, not a pure powerlifter like Bolton.

  • he holds WPO records for squat 1213 lbs and deadlift 1009 lbs both with proper olympic bars.

  • Poundstone's lift was very impressive, but he used straps and he bounced the weight coming down...and he hitched the weight near the end.

  • totaly agree poundstones ten was impressive but if comparing to this lift... stop reps are much harder because no momentum wen bounceing of the floor and straps make a big dif wen doing reps, and the hitching at end wouldnt be counted in a deadlift comp unlike in strongman

  • Comment removed

  • andy i mean

  • derek used straps dumbass dont compare it.

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed

Read the posts below, Eh-Hole. lol

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed

    exactly, andy > derek

  • For me, when deadlifting, there is no difference with or without straps. The max weight is the same. I actually find it easier without, straps dig in to the wrist and the pain causes me to loose focus sometimes.

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed yeah bolton doesnt bounce it either

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed and bounce too.

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed True, but derek is stronger all around. Arm strength pressing strength, and he is much better conditioned. He can probably jump higher also.

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed Dont get me wrong, andy is the best dead lifter in the world, and in the top 3 best squatters, but that is as far as he goes. He is strong in a very very narrow field, where as Derek is strong in a much much wider range.

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed who gives a shit?? 800 pounds is still 800 pounds, straps or not.

  • @mahopacbboy you could not be more wrong.when you actually have to rely on gripping power, its makes lifts alot more taxing , mentally and physically. straps make lifts easier because your mind is focused only on the posterior chain.

  • @JadeSimonetto Yeah, but straps are not ACTUALLY lifting the weight as you would with your own natural strength, natural grip and hands themselves, steriod-free as well.

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed yeah and i love how people forget he's the strongest deadlifter in the world and in history......

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed and not to mention he bounced the shit out of it.

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed correct, and he bounced the reps.

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed

Strongman is a more grip intensive sport, so I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter.

  • that's one big gut.

  • wow that guy in the backround with his hand on the bench just watching, looks like freakin the bigger and alittle bit bulky fat verison of jeff monson like the powerlifter verison of monson lol..

  • youtube scot mendelson 715 raw bench world record. thats the bulky fat version of jeff monson

  • @Tangerinemustang wow he kind of looks like him, does he have hella tattoos? if he does, wow jeff monson when hes not in mma, lol

  • Anyyone know if that is Scott Mendy in the backround?

  • yes it's mendy, recognize his big head.

  • It most certinaly is Mendelson in the back. He had just finished 850 X 2 and 900 X 1.

  • yeah i think is him or his tween brother
