France were unlucky with management, Italy were just poor, and England were knocked out by incompetent referee's/poor showings. The US team went out at the same hurdle as the England team. We have very good players, but they are getting older. Look at the next generation of England players. If anything, they look better than the current crop. Victor Moses, Nathaniel Clyne. Wiltshere, Walcott, Milner, Johnson, Rooney.

All of these players are better than anything that the US squad can offer. England will always be better than the USA. We're a footballing nation, and there aren't many better countries on average. Joe Hart is a FAR superior keeper to anyone the US has produced. In 4 years, I am entirely confident that our new young players - in their FIRST tournament - will easily surpass the USA. We'll just have to wait and see, but in the meantime, English footballing future is bright.

Thats funny considering the USA never even got involved till the last year of the war and there only effort was to supply weapons. Soviet Russia did do alot tho, they help more that USA. Also it was Britain that held defence on all sides of britain, Poland and fought up to germany's border. In other words it was britain who won the war, America did very little. It is FACT!

@bricksalegend ...africa. Unfortunately our army was smaller and less well versed, initially, in modern warfare compared to the Germans. Despite this Great Britain was able to achieve victories in Africa and hold on until help arrived. Britain became the staging area for the invasion of western Europe in 1944 and was a victorious power in 1945.

@MrJJackYT, Don't go thinking that America was so great in the Second World War in comparison to Britain, sure we had real problems but we are a much smaller country than Germany with a smaller population. The US joined late after being forced in, when Germany's strongest days were gone, Russia had switched sides which, being a swing was actually more important than US arrival. Also you did supply us with the things you mentioned and you charged us for it, that's called trade, everyone does it.

Don't compare your medal count to us, to start with you have a larger population than us meaning even with the same percentage of talented people than you we would have less talented people than you. NFL may be more so than football, but they wear armour, there is just as much contact in Rugby as in the NFL yet no kind of padding/protection other than a gumshield. Also you can call us Socialist all you like, I would rather have to pay some extra taxes to pay for healthcare that means poor people can actually be treated rather than be insanely selfish and let them die.
