In my interpretation -- the songs message is a couple going through obstacles which makes it "easier to lie" to one another, for the sake of the relationship. To escape the conflict and just "bear the weight" instead of speaking truth.

I like the song but I'm trying to figure out what message their sending because u only hurt urself when u lie to others, especially when it's someone u care about and they find out what u did. By the way heard it on scrubs and want to say that scrubs has made me change my actions in crappy situations.

@ZZzzdarknesszzZZ It can be about either one of two situtations: The first is that a guy loves a girl, but he worries that she doesn't feel the same, and even if she does he doesn't think he's right for her and he doesn't want to have to deal with the trouble of loving her ("To bear the weight and push into the sky"), so it's easier for him to lie, or rather not tell the truth, and not tell her that he loves her

But the guy knows that the girl would be hurt if he broke up with her, and he doesn't want to have to deal with the guilt of causing someone that much pain, so it's easier for him to lie and pretend that he loves her.
