Those shades you put on the corner of the video... it's just awesome editing. Do you base that on some science on how our vision works? I am watching this in 480p and it looks extremely realistic. Almost like I wasn't watching a video at all.
Once someone is actively aware of all these things, it is based on chemical in the brain and dysfuction become more aparent. If there is a feeling of insecurity masked against authority, then wouldn't it just hurt the person to know what can save him or her?
I tried the cold shower twice and it was amazing, now i cant manage to pull down that shit to 20 degrees celcius anymore since im afraid of getting shocked the shit outta me and having to sit inside a blanket all day
what are your thoughts on medication, xanax, zoloft, adderall, etc? do you think a combination of medication and self awareness should be used or strictly the self awareness techniques you mention?
today i tried the hot/cold shower and as soon as i made the water ice cold i started breathing quite heavily and felt very energized, not to mention i started laughing for no comedic reason haha. the other people in the shower room probs thought i was crazy. Lol im def doing that again
@icecoldkillar1 I actually do apply some processing to it, I'm not recording with a professional mic so I like to use some tricks to give it that professional sound in post.
@bhoubhoubhoubhou What kind of genre? Hmm... Not sure what I'd call it! Industrial somethingsomething? I just go with how KMFDM did it and jokingly label it "ultra heavy beat" :D.
Doesn't that form of metacognition you're talking about essentially begin to hinder your ability to commit to action, as it exacerbates the inability to reconcile thought and action by emphasising the thought over the action?
I'm not really a big fan of meditation. I've tried it before, and I guess it just isn't for me. I much prefer setting aside time to do something just as relaxing, but that also adds to my long-term productivity. So for example, reading a book, or going out for a jog. Afterwards you feel just as energized, but you've also objectively and measurably improved yourself in some quantifiable way.
Reese your way of thingking is very similar to mine, very optimistic as well is what i like. And is a very good way in making you feel more happy in life.
You rattle the cage of hamster-wheel zombies and challenge people THINK! Great stuff. Keep rolling. Check out the "Dirt Capsule". A bit similar stuff.
@skogzor Depends on your body type but in general, sure, lotsa proteins and stuff definitely has a big impact. Might only get you so far without any workout at all though but it makes a big difference.
I'm loving the SDA videos, it's been worth the wait so far. I couldn't agree more with this particular vlog, in how you choose to be happy or angry or sad, also in how motivating helping others is. By a combination of both I have turned my life into something so enjoyable I almost feel bad for most other people, and that's not to say I don't have my own problems. If you CHOOSE to be unaffected by the bad things that happen around you, you CAN force yourself into happiness.
@UseBefore2007 It is always best use these understandings to resolve your frustrations, I wouldn't recommend 'forcing' yourself into happiness. My experience is that emotional issues come back until they are resolved. But simply being very aware of the grand scheme of things and understanding what makes you happy goes a long way towards resolving things.
@reese015 Yeah, I see your point. My approach however is rather on the side of not being affected by things, rather than simply ignoring them. If something needs to be fixed, sure I will attempt to, but I won't let it poison me in the meantime. So instead of seeing problems as fatalities that bring me down, I step back, view the issue logically and take measures without working up a sweat about the consequences. I take things as they come and work to improve them, if I think it's worth it.
@DaGuyd shot on HV20 in cine mode 25p > edited in Vegas (no post) > Optical Flares (Anamorphic Dirty preset) + Magic Bullet Looks (Blockbuster preset) applied in After Effects (in that order, though obviously with slight adjustments in exposure etc) :)
Dude I usually don't watch these videos because they don't have athene in the thumbnail. But im high right now and thought, "why not" and dude... MIND. BLOWN.
Sometimes, what you and Dean talk about is a little too 'textbook' for my liking. It's not that I can't understand what you're saying, it's that I feel like I'm listening to an audio tape about self-development.
That said, I think both of you know this and are slowing it down a little, which is great. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there. We know English is not your first language, and nor is it mine, but believe me, you don't need to impress anyone, we know your vocab is better than most.
Sit in lotus position/fold your hands on your lap,(any position works, make sure your comfortable)clear your mind, keep it clear for the duration.(this is the difficult part)Many people do it by observing their natural breathing pattern.By observe I mean, don't consciously control your breathing, just observe it. Inhale, your chest expands, exhale your chest contracts. It's actually better if you look into it yourself. There are different types of mediation.Hard to explain in a comment.
Nice stuff, it's good to see there are many things you can apply in order to achieve a higher state of awareness. As you said one of the main things is to first wrangle your subconscious by using your conscious mind, whilst using the methods you noted to increase blood flow and thus easier to execute. One thing with meditation, there is also something known as trance, same deal in the end but takes a little getting used to, although very nice once executed regularly.
@Rockguitarnow Which means it's better to develop ways ourselves of resolving personal problems, rather than enter into a profit run field that makes more money by offering medications and such.

Nice, I heared some interesting thoughts about your "meditation" I may trie it someday.Could you explain more detailed what and why are you doing there ? :)
there is nothing new here - this is very old self help stuff - Wayne Dyer focuses on FEELING GOOD, FOCUS ON POSITIVE, when the brain goes down the wrong path - 0pps it's not working - yet the man has cancer while all cancers can be prevented and all cancers have a cause - blocking and dealing, focusing on what is positive does not work and creates a lack of responsibility and accountability in our social world - might want to re-think this
@Judy101101 when one thinks they are aware - life feels great and good you'll never see how wrong you can be - right? being aware is much deeper then you might think. Deepak Chopra with lost of his meditation - feels we should accept death - the man meditates on his own death, says if we actually solved all problems of the world we would be mummified mommies not moving - at what point can the brain recognize it's insane while thinking it's normal?
@Judy101101 Yup. Don't agree with the 'feel-good-focus-on-positivity' stuff, when I talk about awareness I'm simply referring to expanding your working memory to be able to evaluate your beliefs, thoughts and emotions rationally and scientifically. This helps in being realistic and practicality-oriented, unlike feel-good-focused affirmations or meditation.
@reese015 I can see some major flaws with that thinking, what one finds rational just might be insanity - left brain thinking that justifies a wrong belief all the time - it's the same old school self help - spent a life time studying this field and can spot a contradiction pretty easy - patterns within patterns keep repeating and very hard to recognize it's self repeating but you are repeating - can you see that yet?
Resse the stuff you say is inspiring.
