Then again, as a "baby" Christian, ignorance of the full fledged war and straight Bible Doctrine is blissful to some degree.."flowers and pixies" so to speak, when everything is brand new and "feeling" means more than reality..I am thankful for Keith, perhaps if an Elder Christian had talked with him, most definately he would have lost his joy on the spot..heh heh..yeah man..really..
I was always sort of afraid of this "charismatic" type Christianity..I wish i could get my hands on some of the printed material..I do know this..I have never in my life experienced the happiness these people have..perhaps because im paying for so much other sin..still, in Christ, they seem to have had it..Ive never seen that amoung Baptists..
Interesting... somehow, even at 28, he looked somewhat older at 4:40, and he was cleanshaven! LOL Strangely he looked younger to me, with the beard! But then that's just my opinion. Still a great man of God bearded or not. :)
I liked keith but his message was more important , and iam sure he would agree . So lets not get side track off the true message on to a man . I know he was sent by THE LORD.
Keith impacted my life with his genuine love for God. I wanted what he had. When he died our dorm "Father" at the Girls dorm died around the same time. I was so sad that my first oportunity to go to a Kieth Green concert was gone - but I heard from God the same as Melody, 'unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground" It was like God was telling me - go and do likewise, one person is not enough. Then God called me to have children. May they all impact God's targets that He assigns.
No, just me. It's YWAM chico now. At the time that film was shot, it was just "Richardson Springs" run by Cecil Cooper, a place for people in ministry to recuperate. That veranda really hasn't changed in the last 30 years. The hotel itself is a historical site, and it has one of the oldest working elevators in the country, if not the world. Anyhow.
I used to be a Christian once. I saw Keith live several times and many other music groups. Had some really good times in that era in the 70s.
But it is like watching old black and white movies from the past. Let's be honest. Its over. There will never be another Fred Astaire or Keith Green. Most of us now have gray hair and sore joints. We sit in front of the TV or fireplace and think of the good old days.
It's not the good ole times my friend. It's not fred or keith that we need. It's the Lord. You may have gone to these concerts or churches but have you fallen away from the Lord. Just call on His name, He will come to you : )
@Entropy56 Why do you say 'Let's be honest. Its over.' Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 The Lord still works in lives today, if we allow the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts Jesus Christ will bring reconciliation, restoration and forgiveness.
Acts 4:10-12 10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved
@Entropy56 You know God is still there for you today. If you haven't asked back into your heart, do it today before it's too late. He really loves you. God sets people like Keith Green for every generation. It's not about us. It's about Him. We are His tools. He is our Craftsman. He loves us and will meet us wherever we are. It's not about a time only. He is there for all time. Come back to Him if you haven't!
Great Video about a really interesting person. You wonder about these intense people who die young (Cobain, Green, Lennon). What would age have brought??
Keith's faith was rare and his edge was unique. So glad to know he was comforted by the love of the heavenly father which he reflected in his worship album for us all to enjoy. Precious to see his remaining children carrying on his faith.
Keith was growing in his faith and understanding even up to the time the Lord took him (and his two kids) home to heaven. Praise God that He kept Keith faithful until the end and that He provided for Melody even afterwards (as well as the other two children).
I think it would be awesome to get this entire video series and use it for several morning services. Pop in into a video projector and use it as the sermon, or play it after for those who who would like to stay and enjoy it. Very inspirational.
Man... I think ... i can remember the day the plane went down As a young black youth growing up in Paterson it was this song on here that kept me going moving in the right direction.. at that age Man... I FELT SUCH LOSS, and could not figure out were i was going to get music that seemed as if... It came from GODS OWN MOUTH..
That's an awful thing to say! How much of NJ have you seen? My four kids are growing up on four beautiful acres here in NJ with a garden, chickens and a wonderful small community and church. I grew up here and am proud of it!
I remember when this happened. Didn't know Keith and Melody personaly, but like so many others knew them through reading Last Days Ministry and the music. My heart ached for Melody. And of course all families involved.
Thank you for posting this video.
Because even all these years later...I,and most likely many others who were touched by Keiths life, or more importantly his life's message, appreciate knowing more.
Thank you for posting these videos. I did not know of Keith Green or his life story before now. This is a powerful testimony and it incourages me to draw near to the Lord
"Chronicles" was a dark spot in Keith's otherwise godly teachings. It was based on testimony by a man Chick Ministries who claimed to be a former Jesuit. That testimony and stories of the Jesuits were found to be false. At one time LDM would not accept Catholics and as YWAMers, many of us had a problem with that. Melody later published an article stating that while Keith still had problems with some Catholic teachings, the "Chronicles" was not Spirit-led and he retracted much of it.
baloney! of course it was Spirit lead. God Almighty calls out the Catholic Institution as the Great Whore and Mystery Babylon. Kieth did what was right and good. Just like true Christians before him. google "Catholic Chronicles" for excellent instruction everybody!
Cause this isn't the place to have these dicussions. This is the last I will reply as I'm not one to get into some big online argue fest. Especially in a spot where you are to comment on videos, especially with someone who is bitter at a group as a whole and is probably just wanting to pick a fight with "Christians". And especially under a video of Keith Green who represented the love, compassion, kindness, and forgiveness of God. That just wouldn't make any sense. Will be praying for you.
I wish you people would become real Christians. No-one wants to be part of church with people like you there. See how you didnt even answer what I said about Iraq? Instead you talk about abortion. Yeah, everyone knows that "Christians" are against abortion but what about this war your demonic president lied about to get us into? Just keep listening to your "Pastor" and it will all be ok.
You must be counting all the people that Sadaam Hussein killed, many as a result of supporting the coalition in the first Gulf War and many he killed just cause they were Kurds, Christians, a different sect of Islam than him...there was a mistake made....he should have been brought to justice much earlier. Sadaam was responsible for his actions, can't blame other countries or people. The question is why didn't people speakout against leaving him in power after the Gulf war. That's a world mistake.
Was a reply to: tlthe5th (11 months ago) You're right. I was way short in the number I said. It's over 600,000 civilians in Iraq. That doesnt include the millions who died due to sanctions.

You are right. Back in the seventies the whole christian community was united in their disgust for abortion. Now we have some who support the war, and some who regret it ever happened, but no defining "movement" to end it.
Thank you for posting these. I love hearing the gospel from as many perspectives as possible. Keith had a unique perspective, and up until now I never knew what it was. I really haven't listened to much of his music, but now I will.
Keith died at my age and he did sooo much for God, i envy that. Wish i could spread God's message through my music like that!
