  • @yolo22 Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Thank you for this great tutorial. I ordered a Harrisville loom from the US and within 8 days I had my own loom (in Holland!).Right now I am making several potholders to make a pillow cover. Not the right word I'm afraid. But what is the best way to join those potholders? Is there a "How to join....." of it somewhere?

    Thanks

  • @Omiwan2 There are many ways to join the squares, depending on what effect you wish to create. My favorite choice is to use the baseball stitch. This means that you work in the space between the 2 squares, gradually pulling them together with the stitches. You will alternately take a stitch from each square, going back and forth and pulling up on the thread. It gives a 'V' shaped final stitch that becomes almost invisible.

  • Thank you so much for this. I watched it a couple days ago and just came back to it to double check what I am doing after making the first five squares of a blanket (What? Start off with a small project? Pshaw!). I love to crochet, but this is much faster and I love the texture. Just lovely.

  • @joanieponytail57

I am so pleased that it has been helpful to you! I have lots of designs for the potholder loom on my website, too.

  • This is such a great tutorial. I watched it repeatedly over the weekend and worked up a few dishcloths. I do have one question, what do you do with the two pieces of loose yarn hanging at the corners ( one piece where we tie the yarn to anchor it to the loom, the other at the other corner where we finish our last wrap around) Does that make sense LOL?? I'm new to looming, so I have no clue what the "technical terms" are :)

  • @AngelwithAttitude72

    Thank you so much :o)

When I am sewing squares together, I use the ends for stitching. If you are going to make hanging loops for potholders, then use the strands at one corner for them.

Weave the other ends into the square.

If you don't want a hanger, then weave all the ends into the square.

    :o) Enjoy your weaving :o)

  • yes, i think i will.

  • yes i was able to find then, and yes they are wonderful. I ordered a potholderloom and your book "The Woven Bag".

  • @TheKittykat100 I hope that you will enjoy them both!!! :o)

  • @NoreenCroneFindlay sorry this reply is very late, but, i do enjoy them both , very much.

  • thanx noreen!

  • @TheKittykat100 Were you able to find the potholder looms at harrisville do t com? They are so wonderful.....

  • No hard feelings friend...I admire your dedication to all of us. My fifteen year old that wanted to learn darning her socks lost all interest...I guess I took too long. That age needs constant motivation. This new video might do the job...we'll see. You're great!

  • @spoolhead51 Thank you

  • wow this reminds me of the video you made about darning a sock I've been looking for that you removed. Although I begged you to please post it again you did not and I understand it's your prerogative however it would have been nice if you'd answer yea or nay. I still think you're super!!!

  • @spoolhead51 Yikes!!!... I didn't see anything anywhere begging me to post the darning video again.

I am sorry, but I have a ton of projects and designs that are ahead of it in the lineup...

  • do you know where i can get a potholder loom? please reply.

  • @TheKittykat100

I am trying to figure out how to post the addresses for the websites, but haven't been able to get the comment to post when there is a link in it.

If you go to harrisville dot c om you'll see that they have fabulous metal looms.

  • I just received a note saying that the person would add a string heddle system for the second shed.... sorry.... but that doesn't work.... you'll pop all the warp strands off the loom. Weaving the hook through on 1/2 the rows really isn't an issue... besides, why not go with the flow of the contemplative pleasure of the weaving instead of needing to speed it up?

  • What size hook are you using?

  • @gambrell104 The weaving hook is one that I made from a chopstick. It's about the same size as a 5 or 5.5 mm crochet hook.

  • Thank you so much!

  • very nice and neet :)
