This was the kind of ending I suspected when I watched the final version the first time but then I thought:

The Happy Ending is better because it did not what people expect. Not every fun animation about some kind of addiction has to have a moral. It's supposed to entertain with beautiful images, humor and awsome music and singing.

And that's a modern kind of message that I like very much.
