Well to be fair, in a studio you can take longer breaks and at anytime go take a drink or say tea, but in lives you have to go an hour or longer with a little amount short preplanned breaks. Personally I really like Byou's live vocals, and yes he does have those times where his vocals can be off, but it can happen to any vocalist.
well you guys are right. Byou's voice here is a lil off but that doesn't make him just a show man or not good with lives. he have some good lives aswell. although i don't really know whats wrong with him here?... but try listening on his other lives he's not Bad at all actually. look at their live anniversary when he sings Nanairo he's not bad at all. :) although Ruki is way better though. but I'm a Kazuki lover! heheheh Xp
I saw Dir En Grey live back in November and Kyo was awesome! His vocals were so good, way better than the CD's. His voice was hypnotic and I felt like I was in a trance. After that concert, I never listened to them the same, hearing how good he was at the live. Byou doesn't sound too bad, but of course he can't sound the same as in the PV. It's recorded and been edited. He is a good vocalist and this song is still fricking awesome! I will always go to lives, even if they don't sound as good.
i have to disagree with those of you who say "you dont want them to sound just like the recorded CD version" i mean you're right..you want them to sound BETTER live!
take Ruki from the GazettE for example *im not comparing Byou and Ruki*
but Ruki sounds great on CD, but live...hes AMAZINGG!! not only does he have awesome stage presence, but his vocals are really really unbelievable! but i think that byou is a good vocalist, but i agree that hes more of a "show man"
you dont want singers to sound the same on the stage. you might aswell just listen to the cd and save yourself the ticket price otherwise. atmosphere is the most important thing in a concert (im a musician myself)
His voice is a little off.... Oh well, the fans love *starts dancing*
