the most I got past was 7 I got the "logic box" by charles phillips. i goes up to 8 rings. There is a patter the main problem is that I get lost. becasue first you want all the tower except the end to the next stick and you put the end on the right then you try to get the whole tower to the left other then the end of that and put the end on the right and then repeat. Problem is you get lost when you do that for a while. I think 7 took my over 20 min.
very easy things to remember: the smallest ring always moves every second turn; the largest ring should only move once; when starting out from a full stack, wherever you want that stack to end up, however small, a stack with an odd number of rings should start with the smallest ring going where you want the whole stack to end up. got that?
yeah, i play this game on my Calc all day everyday in math class. sadly it only goes up to 8 blocks. i can beat it with 255 moves, which is the lowest possible. there is a simple pattern to the game, and once you figure it out you can't fail.
i figured out that if you wanna move an odd number of blocks (3,5,7) your first move is where you want the blocks to end at. even: you start at the other pole. simple but true.
You know, I didn't know speed was a factor in working this puzzle. I just wanted to do it. I created this animation in a program called Scratch(freeware). If I speed up my video, I can decrease the time considerably, and it will look terrible. I did it slow for instructional purposes and it makes a good screensaver. It looks great and is very colorful and easy to follow. Check it out with or without music
To calculate the minimum amount of moves required to accomplish the goal, use the following formula: 2^x -1 where x equals the amount of rings you have. For example, with 8 rings: 2^8 = 256 -1 =255. The minimum amount of moves to beat this game with 8 rings is 255. If you moved one piece per second, it would take 4 minutes and 15 seconds to beat level 8.
Yup, 255 moves. You can also tell that I'm using logic, because I stop to count how many rings are in one tower. One peice per second is easier said than done.
Good job and nice music.

You can be faster if you turn the towers 90 degrees and hold the smallest ring in your left hand without letting it go.
Try it. I have a video where I do that (though I don't try there to beat any record).
I do 8 stories in less than 3 minutes with this method.

I mean the song it ok, it is just the theme of it, it is a bit stupid, singing about eating an egg and everything that has to go with it.
EAtheSecond 3 years ago
never heard of Weird Al, huh? He's got some pretty awesome songs, you know.
GamuhCube 3 years ago

Wow... I got 8 rings into a 10 ring one before i gave up... did you memorise the optimal moves or just use logic?

Logic... :D

that other song that starts playing at the begining right befor "eat it" is called "acoustic curves" by animusic.
how many moves did you make?
cyberspace17 4 years ago
uuum, Not sure what song you're talking about, there is no music before Eat It, except the clicking of the rings.
GamuhCube 4 years ago
so those gong-like noises are part of the song "eat it".
cyberspace17 4 years ago
Uh, Yes. They are both in "Eat It" and the original by Michael Jackson, "Beat It". The gongs are in the song.
