And not to mention some great baseball playoff races with the Brewers won the American League East over the Baltimore Orioles on the final day of the '82 season as Don Sutton beat Jim Palmer in Baltimore to give the Brewers the A.L. East Pennant while the Joe Morgan of the San Francisco Giants eliminated the L.A. Dodgers on the final day in San Francisco at Candlestick Park with a homer that won the for the Giants and gave the National League West title to the Atlanta Braves by 1.0 game.

Hey man thanks for posting this up I loved them Saturday Cartoons specials preview and that old sports update by the late Dick Schapp it's funny while this special aired on ABC on Sunday September 19, 1982 it was week 2 of the NFL and after that game the NFL players association went on strike. The strike lasted for two months reducing to a 9-game shorten season football regular season resuming play on Sunday November 21, 1982 just around the same week just before thanksgiving.
