  • just watched some LDS hymns and they suck really suck compared to this. I only looked them up because the organ pieces are pretty simple and I am looking for simple organ pieces without pedal.

  • Seeing this vid was the perfect way to end today October 31, 2011 which is the anniversary of the date Martin Luther nailed the 95 theses to the door of that very church. Oh how I'd love to see it some day and churches associated with Bach as well.

  • Amazing church, Amazing harmony, Amazing Bach; Amazing video.

  • Did they recently perform at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, NY, USA?

  • Beautiful! But, haha, the buzz of the camera is actually in tune with the song:]

  • OUTSTANDING !!

    I Cr 13:8a

  • This gives me a tendency to fap, I must say.

  • a bit too much 1st soprano but otherwise beautiful :)

  • man im half german and scottish i miss that church so much!

  • mmm chills. very beautiful

  • those few measures before the huge cords for the paulus sound weird. I think there just trying to extend them too much, making it just that much slower. The big cords themselves are a lil slow i think too... at least from the way i learned how to do it...

  • I wonder why we fight about worship? Every time I do a survey, it is the music people are passionate about. What do you think God thinks about it? I was taught that when music is done with integrity and to the glory of God, it is right and good. that being said, this is sublime.

  • @Hailstone47 The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.

  • What a wonderful place to perform and such a marvelous sound. Our choir is singing this anthem this sunday, love your work Steve...

  • The first Lutherans were more like reformed Catholics than Protestants - they had the Mass, and gorgeous music like this. Thank God the gorgeous music is still around!

  • you guys did this beautifully. my choir did the same song but differently, the sopranos weren't as prominent. we also had an accel in the 5/4 measures. but still, thumbs up from me! :)

  • oh my gosh i just got into the music program at Luther... with scholarships!!! I'm soooo excited

  • Congratulations! You are in for four years of magnificent music, life-changing travels, wonderful friends, and calling one of the most beautiful places in the country home. Enjoy.

  • r4dice86, I completely agree.

  • Beautiful!!!!!

This is Christian music! Not that CCM garbage!

    God bless thee

  • now now some of those ccm artist make great worship music. there are so many forms of worship that glorify the lord. your quite right this is beautiful worship :).

  • thats amazing, you guys are incredibly lucky to have been able to sing there. i bet its gorgeous!!

  • WOW. So many young American choirs (or, I should say, their conductors) want to play with old hymns and make them more jazz/pop. Thank you for representing the USA with such a beautiful performance; I want to hear more. You make me very proud to be a German-American.

  • Well this is one of if not thee best college choir in the sates so if you don't like this well frankly you don't like choral music i'm afraid.

  • ???

  • I was simply stating how insane you would be NOT to like this. Haha nothing more.

  • Oh how I do love the works of Stephen Paulus... But only if delivered well, which here he was. Well done.

  • That was amazing!!!! Beatiful song

  • That was amazing. I hope I can make it into the Nordic Choir if I go to Luther. It'd be wonderful and an honor to sing with a group like that. - K

  • I'm doing this song in my high school Acapella choir this year. It is amazing; a truly breathtaking hymn.

  • Well done Dr. Craig Arnold & Nordic Choir.

(Appears to be a Rehearsal.) Dr. Weston H, Noble, who retired in 2005, after 57 years of devotion to Nordic Direction & Music would be/is proud of you! - Penny

  • Yes, Dr. Arnold conducted this. Weston Noble used to conduct Nordic Choir but retired a couple years ago. Dr. Peter conducts Norseman and Collegiate.

  • No, I'm pretty sure that this would be Dr. Craig Arnold conducting.

  • I love how Dr. Peter worked with the acoustics of the room and held out the phrases so they'd have room to resonate.

  • Weston Noble counducted this?

  • Komm, heiliger Geist, Herre Gott/Come, Holy Spirit, Lord our God Verse 3: Du heilige Brunst, süsser Trost, Nun hilf uns fröhlich und getrost In deinem Dienst beständig bleiben, Die Trübsal uns nicht abtreiben. O Herr, durch dein' Kraft uns bereit' Und stärk des Fleisches Blödigkeit, Dass wir hier ritterlich ringen, Durch Tod und Leben zu dir dringen. Halleluja! Halleluja!
