Japan needs to legislate to outlaw the denial of their war crimes, just as in Germany. Such deniers should not hold posts in their govt, nor professorships of history in their universities. They are not representatives or professors, they are abusers of those positions. And until this is done, the Japanese govt will not truly have atoned for their criminal past. And while they're at it, they need to change their history text books, so future generations can learn from the past.
