  • ya newer games are all about graphics back then graphics didnt mean anything games were just fun

  • @EndlessNytemare very true

  • i love the story line! but terranigma is the best part of the saga!

  • you forgot to get the coin from the side of the building (is it a coin? it's something useful). Also I never finished the game but my friend got to the last boss and it was all the bosses under the same roof. killer.

  • Absolutely love this game, great nostalgia :-) this is when games had imagination and great storylines that keep u enticed!! Some people seem to complain if its not 'realistic' enough for them these days which is a shame give me this sort of game anyday..... This and Secret of Mana were 2 of my favourite games on SNES.

  • Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as Illusion Of Gaia. It’s up on my channel ORTmusic to check out and download!

  • Without a doubt, one of the best, and most underrated games about.

  • el primer RPG que termine solo, aun lo considero el mejor RPG; la historia, la mistica del juego ufffff q nostalgia :'( ya no hacen juegos como estos...

  • This is lying dusty in my parents basement atm. I never got anywhere in this game, since during those days, I didn't understand the english subtitles that well :p

  • Took me ten years of looking to find out what this game was called. All I could remember was a guy being eaten by a fish. Now I've finally found it! I'm buying this right now!

  • just bought cart only from ebay PAL version for 7.25 including postage is that a good deal

  • I wish they'd put this on virtual console.

  • OMG Secret of Mana is on iPhone now, but I also want THIS and TERRANIGMA on the iPhone.

    Thumbs up who agrees

  • hwoly shit :O... classic

  • 2:40 penis windows o.O

  • wow I FOUND MY GAME!!!! lol I was searching at google time I thaught it was something with time and now I found it!

  • @princessofDBZ This is part 2 of a trilogy. Make sure you check them all out. =)

  • @ShiryuGL Soul Blazer > Illusion of Gaia > Terranigma is the right order to play it right? :)

  • @KevinArcade Yep. Also if you have a PSX -> Grandstream Saga. The Final chapter.

  • @princessofDBZ it is time, Illusion of Gaia in US, and Illusion of Time in EU ^^ The greatest game ever made ;)

  • @princessofDBZ well the euro version is called illusion of time

  • Nostalgia

  • i loved this game

  • I usto play this about 14 years ago =P, ahhh those were the days.

  • It's been about 10 years since I last played this. This was the first RPG I ever played & it's as good as the Final Fantasy series. I hope this gets released on the Wii Virtual Console. If anyone gets any news from anywhere of an annoucement for a release date or planned date. Please notify me ASAP!

  • ah i remember playing this game, good times

  • I think this is the best one from the trilogy, although soul blazer was amazing too.

  • My brother accidentally found some sort of bug on our cartridge. Even if there were no save files, if you watched this intro scene and pressed start after a little while, we would get a save game file that was at a random point in the game, which once took us to the final boss battle. Havent tried it in a while though.

  • those games were just too good, i don't like most of the new console rpg's... terranigma, chrono trigger, secret of mana etc. = <3

  • Also had about 10 brand new TERRANIGMA so I bought also one.

    My lucky lucky day!!!!

  • Ohh Thanks for the video!!!

Today it is a big day.I bought a brand new sealed copy of illusion of Gaia(time).

I found a shop that had about 4 sealed Illusions.

    Maybe I never opened it.

  • i would say that nes, snes and playstation 1 was the best consoles thats have ever been made, ever. so much good games.

I would give anything for Illusion of time and Secret for Evermore AGAIN. 5/5 for the clip

  • I absolutely adore this game, honestly my favourite game ever, even more than ocarina of time!

  • blasphemy gshonfield blasphemy you speak !!!!! how dare you say there is an RPG better than the holy ocarina of time !!! (just kidding it is a real good game).

  • dude what did u remind me now????this game..this music...NOSTALGIAAAAAAAA..i want those days back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • best game out in SNES i wish they can bring it out again for PS3 good story line game

  • fuck ps3

  • damn i miss those days.

  • me too, for me the snes was the last classic console...zelda, illusion of gaia, terranigma, chrono trigger, there are tons of great games...too bad most of the games now is just about pretty graphics

  • the snes was the best console ever made.

  • indeed, today its almost impossible to find games like earthbound, chrono trigger, secret of mana, breath of fire, etc etc...snes and genesis were the best

  • 2 of my favorite parts (cuz it helps to give it a little more feeling of time and reality) are when you have to actually wait in line at some city (I do not longer remember details) and when you had to survive for several days in a small boat or something... killing fishes and eating them.

Rarely games ever do that... unless is an online game ~_~a

Dunno if anyone understood what I said @.@

  • Thats tight, didn't know Angkor Wat was in this game.

  • i still to this day think this is the best game ever made, so much truth to it,

it was the fist game that actually made me want to see the world, and find the truth for myself, such a nice story,

i've got some of the original books that inspired some of the original inspiration,

    for this game,

such as the Lost continent of Mu, by James Churchward,

And Chariots of the gods by Erich Von Däniken

Far Journeys And ultimate Journey, by robert a Monroe,

  • I totally understand. When I was little, I had no idea what life was about, and then...I found this game hidden in a drawer. It totally changed my life, it was like I had ambition and stuff...

This was probably the first video game I ever beat and it was the greatest game I ever played.

  • I agree... it was definitely the best game I ever played.

  • wats the first game of the gaia trilogy

  • A little old on the reply, and you probably already know by now.But it was Soulblazer.

  • shadow is cool and um oh yah freedan is to other foms of will.... sorry if i ruined any thing

  • one of the best nes games!!!

  • SNES. Not NES.

  • lol mybad got excited for seeing the footage

  • I remember playing this game, it felt so mysterious. as I kid I knew these locations existed but playing this game I really got the feeling of becoming an explorer in these abandoned ancient wonders . and I thought there were really skeletons dwelling in those places lol

  • Incredible game! So full of soul and wonderful story line which carries some very important messages. In fact, it was this game that got me interested in ancient ruins and stuff. Love it. One of those rare games that had the 'X' factor.

  • Shadow? Does will get the ability to use Chaos control? : p

Joking aside, I loved this game, and it stands true today as a great hidden gem in my SNES.

  • love that game!

  • im hoping for a wii VC version too =[

  • One of the best games ever.

  • hey, this is perhaps an odd request but can you recommend the best IoG music tracks to me?

  • I just finished this game, it was amazing. I'm missing it already, don't suppose there were any sequels?

  • o.o, i think there was, but i'm not really sure >_>

  • it really looks like golden sun

  • yes there is one! it's called Terranigma and illusion of gaia also had a prequel that was calles soul blazer. they're all grate games but i think terranigma is the best of the 3. you should deffenetly give that one a try! oh! and soul blazer too. :D

  • From Wizwar100 "wow must be a shitty school if theres only 4 kids in it".

  • omg man i remember playin this when i was 8 fuck this brings back so many memories

  • Ah Hearing that town theme really brings back some wonderfull memories when i was younger and played this game.

Games like this, Chrono Trigger, Zelda: a link to the past and final fantasy 6 is SO hard to come by these days with all the 3D games with crappy music and so easy to complete.

  • they spend to much time on graphics and not enough on stroylines.

  • ...and music

  • badass game brings back memories

  • I loved playing through this game. I always thought that it was cool how most of the locations you visit in the game are based on real-world places or stories. It also had a really satisfying ending... not common for its time. Thanks for uploading this!

  • @WiihatMii

    agreed!!

  • noticed? lol. guitar hero land just quivers my shivering timbers

  • this was the best game ever I loved the whole story line, why dont they make games like this now and since when was this game called the illlusion of gaia i have it but its called the illusion of Time???

  • The game has a nice Soundtrack.

I like to watch the clips of this game here on youtube

but i'm missing some clips of the Pyramid.

  • This is a very strong memory from my childhood, a truely amazing game and story line. The battle system, for me, seemed very simple but it never got boring, an art that has been lost with modern day games.

I began replaying this the other day for great memories, and I'll never forget the day Lily choose Lance over me :P

  • It´s the best game I´ve ever played in my life. The story, the music, the persons, and the whole atmosphere made this game to the most beautifull epic Adventure I can imagine.

  • I agree. ;)

  • Life itself is sad, especially Hamlets =,( god I love that pig. But an even sadder game is Terranigma, which almost made me burst into tears at some scenes. It's so beautiful how such a magnificient series can be made just by the use of a bunch of sprites.

  • "It's so beautiful how such a magnificient series can be made just by the use of a bunch of sprites"

Can I Quote you ??, excelent words ^^d

Yes, a good story dont need amazing graphics, tho they help. People lately just worry about hot it looks but the storyline is so empty, still they say its the best game ever and you try and show them good games like this one, Chrono Trigger, Lufia, etc, and just because it is SNES graphics they will say they sux without even play it !! >.<

  • New generations says FF7 game sux and is over rated (by just looking at the clumpsy poligons, compared to the latest games, looks so silly). It isnt over rated !! It got so commercial yes... but because fans want more. Is not normal for Squaresoft to do 2nd parts of their Final Fantasy series, but they had to do it for FF7 because the game was great. Even it it where made for SNES or Atari haha, the story and characters are great >.<

  • Yay the first person to ever quote me =), yes people these days only worry about the graphic quality of a game instead of it's story now and days. I hate how ignorant some people get when it comes to the graphics of a game that has a erally great storyline.

  • I totaly agree! (crying right now....)

  • This is the best game for Snes.

    Man,I love this game!

  • This is a briiliant game but it's so sad. :(
