MVyonne, thanks for making me laugh. Unfortunately, this is a very sad and very real part of many children's lives. I'm a Title I teacher and I work with "at-risk" children. I see the results of the "dead-beat daddy" phenomena on a daily basis. I wish I could save them all from their parents own poor decisions. The best we can do is help and love those kids with all we have and try to keep a sense of humor about it in the mean time.

If you only wish to see the kids or your child when it is to your convenience, when it works for you and when it fits in with your whole picture, when it is right for you 'happy deadbeat daddies day'. Parenting is not a convenience it is a responsibility that you should not leave all up to the mother or one parent... even if you're split it's a team thing to bring up happy children.

MVyonne, thanks for making me laugh. Unfortunately, this is a very sad and very real part of many children's lives. I'm a Title I teacher and I work with "at-risk" children. I see the results of the "dead-beat daddy" phenomena on a daily basis. I wish I could save them all from their parents own poor decisions. The best we can do is help and love those kids with all we have and try to keep a sense of humor about it in the mean time.

I agree with some of your comment. Yes life is about choices, and if 2 people 'choose' to lie down and make a child then the options are numerous, but that is or should be a 2 person decision. Now if the child is born and kept, then the 2 people who laid down , now have to step up and be parents. despite their own personal relationship, because it's not just about those 2 people anymore it's about their child.
