@deliusism1 True, this is a video about 23 Envelope and their clients (Cocteau Twins), not a Cocteau Twins video, I assume most of the CT fans came here just to stare at Elizabeth's face even when it seems she doesn't understand a word of what Vaughan is talking to them, haha.
Is it just me, or does everything that everybody says besides Liz just go in one ear and right out the other? There's no interest here whatsoever but to listen to her talk, and she doesn't do much more than laugh here.Too bad.
The guys at 23 envelope were pretty catty & bitchy that one guy snapped at Robin. They were young but at least they knew what they wanted on their album covers. I can say for the time, it did look nice.
v23's 4AD sleeves are fantastically beautiful. The Cocteaus ones are great too. I remember when they left 4AD though they said they were fed up with the covers. Four Calendar Cafe, which they made soon after, has a terrible cover though in my opinion, not worthy of the great music on the album.
I tried for some time with a band i was in to get a deal with 4AD and eventually got somewhat quite close with Beggers Banquet as we had a call for an interview, this studio was all within the same building (house) so was a real treat to met the people there and see where these album covers were being made as we were very big fans of Cocteau twins and others on the label - nice post thanks :)
I definitely think that the CTwins have a "look" to their covers as well as the videos, it is a shame you see so many people distort that image with homemade youtube videos that are just tacky.
Cocteau Twins didn't love too much VO cover sleeve, they said after tjeir departure from 4ad. this video is very british (i.e. i agree with you, but...)
When was this filmed? Judging by their hair (and the lack of Robin's beard!) and the absence of Simon that it's possibly during the "Victorialand" period? In any case, this is a very, very fun and informative piece of film. How rare could this be?!

ever loved the 23's picture style. They're really image-artists.

It was broadcast sometime in 1985, I think between the release of Aikea Guinea and Tiny Dynamine.
