For all the different reasoins I really really hated this game at the time. i still do but not so much for Raiden as for the terribel pacing of the story, It starts out extremelt well, but after the tanker episode it´s all downhill from there, You are constantly interrupted by pointless codec conversations " Jack, do you remember what day it is?"..yeah, it´s the day I told you to STFU!! The exposition is as static as it gets in Kojimas games. ( end of rant. no more room)

The game is one of the best that I ever played in my life, and the opening is great too. BUT: in the opening, when they put chemical structures in the video, they are puting structures that CANNOT EXIST! Those elements were put randomly in the structures. Hydrogen with 2 bonds??? Oxygens with 3? WHAT???

RAY exists because of REX. No REX, no RAY. Hence, RAY is based upon the original model.

- Actually, they explain that RAY was designed to counter-attack other versions of Metal Gear that were scattered all over the world, not just REX. Besides, in case you haven't noticed, Solid Snake already defeated Metal Gear REX, so I can assume that the Marines were not aware of this or the game developers kind of screwed up. As for your other statement, RAY was actually based on a Manta-ray. You know, those sea creatures ?
