Ok thats it. The movie ARE sorry excuses for the books. They pretty much ruined every detail that was amazing of the series. These movies are a disgrace.
I think that they should have waited for the series to end before they even thought about making Eragon. There was so much that Christopher Paolini didn't inform us on until Inheritance that made it nearly impossible to make Eragon. That is one of the main reason I believed Eragon was a huge failure.

@pikokinha I agree, there's no freaking way there will be an Eldest movie, did anyone see any elves or dwarves in the first movie? They even took Roran away from the very start of it, the 2nd book is pretty much based on these, plus there was no clue of Elva, about the Twins, they were gonna be in the movie but they removed it eventually aswell. If you look good enough, Galbatorix had the map from the book in his room, how didn't he find the elves? They didn't exist in the movie.
@Magicguy103 Yep. As the director, it was his responsibility to make sure the movie was true to the story, but screenwriters do have say in the matter. There were very unnecessary changes made that I think the screenwriter is responsible for. Hell it was the guy who wrote the screenplay for Jurassic Park III which sucked...a lot lol. The only reason they would bother making a movie from the book and murder the story is so they can use the basic line and not get pinned for plagiarism. Lame >:(

The plot is a little predictable and of course it can't compare to Tolkien, but if we expect every book to be of Tolkien quality and awesomeness, we'd find ourselves disappointed a lot more often lol. I can only assume that by JKR you mean Rowling. I admire her as a writer. Her books are great and she's appropriately articulate, creative, and educated.

He may have a couple of evident influences, and the plot is a little predictable, but I still like the books and Paolini and think he deserved better than that movie.

And they decided to make it a big love story between Aragorn and Arwen and her struggle. When in the book she had a very small part and was mentioned once or twice. But over all they were very good movies.

Movies are never accurate my friends. Every Harry Potter movie I watched there were missing elements. But in Eragon? Please its just plain bad for someone who read the book. The movie was totally inaccurate, only with bits of true events. So 1st Eragon has to be remade, make it as close to the book as possible. Then they can make Eldest which will have a twist, because Eragon will appear as an elf somewhere in the middle.

@misscharmedwitch the movie in its self as a movie was decent. However, do to its inaccuracy toward the book it is absolutely impossible to make "Eldest" (which is the name of the second installment of the series) unless Eragon is remade in a way that is more true to the story. I have hope because they did it with Hulk. I pray that someone does it because if not then it would be a waste of an EPIC fantasy series. I fell in love with the books and hope they can make movies that do it justice.

good predictions on the last book but i reackon that eragon will restore the riders from the vault of souls mentioned by angeler in book 1, also that the green egg will hatch to a dwarf, maybe Orik. then he'll win Arya's heart and go off over the sea.
Here's something I found that you all may enjoy...
The true name of the ancient language is hidden and has never been found. The Ra'zac mention that Gaklbatorix has almost found 'The Name' and Oromis mentions that in the past years Galbatorix has withdrawn once again (But not as much as he did when he was enslaving the Eldunari) and they don't know that it is. Is it possible that 'The name' is the true name of the ancient language? I think so!
@pikokinha saphira spits fire at the end, and it was supposed to be more of arya, eragon and durza not saphire ==, no freakin orik too, i do agree with u, and its a shame too
never. the money that was brought in with Eragon wasn't as much as 20th Century Fox was hoping for and they decided just to cancel the whole thing. I wish they would make it though. Even though they cut out more than half the book, it was a great movie.
You know, the producers should freaking read the whole series before making a single movie. Anyone notice how Twilight is just plain creepy int he first movie? They put no enthusiasm in it that was in the books. Bella jumped into Edwards lap at one point. Screw movies, books are a million times better. Only the Harry Potter movies are decent.

I've read all books a couple of times and think I can say that i fairlt know what will happen in book 4. I think i can guarantee that the book ends with eragon goinf abroad and two dragons in the sky (Saphira and Thorn). Also i think the ancient language is fun. since many words there means the same in my language(Swesish). Drötningu (Drottning), Ganga (gång), Fram (Fram) etc.

The only sad thing about the rest of the eragon series... if they would make a movie of brisingr and eldest and the fourth book. Is that it wouldve missed out on so much story, the first movie shows only the surface i mean you don't even get to meet Orik xd. Many things in the first movie makes it impossible too take some other things from the other book. The whole dwarf section has been removed and you don't know who Jeod is... who helps roran in the second book. There's many things i can say
@pat5168 I agree that Elva is a definite possibility, but have you thought about Orik? It would balance out the three races, it would alleviate many dwarves angers about not being included in the Dragon Riders, and remember when Orik was on Saphira and he said it was freeing and exhilerating.
@BasketballManiac57 i think that the dwarves already forgave them when they restored isidar mithrim (minus the clan who attempted to assassinate him) and i think that since orik is the king of the dwarves now i think it would be wrong for him to be a rider. plus think about how much more powerful elva would be with her ability to tell when people would feel pain combined with being a rider?
these are the people who i think might die in the 4th, maybe all of them or none of them idk how chris paolini works: nasuada, king orrin, orik, jormundur, trianna, islanzadi, murtagh, nar garzhvog, blodgharm, arya, roran, (galbatorix definitely) the only people who i wouldnt mind all that much if they died would be orrin, but the varden definitely needs his support. angela wouldnt die i know that much, neither would eragon or saphira. (i say to myself to keep me in a happy place)
oh and for all you people who are making predictions that nobody will die and arya will b the next dragon rider and everyone lives and is totally happy, its NOT gonna happen. chris proved to us that he does not hesitate in killing characters in eldest and brisingr. Im not saying that he's going to kill eragon, i just think that at least SOMEBODY is going to die... or at the very least everything isnt going to be perfect.

And they decided to make it a big love story between Aragorn and Arwen and her struggle. When in the book she had a very small part and was mentioned once or twice. But over all they were very good movies.

Movies are never accurate my friends. Every Harry Potter movie I watched there were missing elements. But in Eragon? Please its just plain bad for someone who read the book. The movie was totally inaccurate, only with bits of true events. So 1st Eragon has to be remade, make it as close to the book as possible. Then they can make Eldest which will have a twist, because Eragon will appear as an elf somewhere in the middle.

@misscharmedwitch the movie in its self as a movie was decent. However, do to its inaccuracy toward the book it is absolutely impossible to make "Eldest" (which is the name of the second installment of the series) unless Eragon is remade in a way that is more true to the story. I have hope because they did it with Hulk. I pray that someone does it because if not then it would be a waste of an EPIC fantasy series. I fell in love with the books and hope they can make movies that do it justice.

I think that on its own the Movie Eragon was good, But to call it a movie of the Inheritance Cycle made it bad. If they had not said it was from the book it would have been very good, but because they wanted it to be like the movie it got screwed up.

You know wh at if it wasnt connected to eragon it would have been a good movie. BUT IF YOU READ THE BOok they followed the plot only for the first few seconds and that was it. SERIOUSLY The elves werent elves, the drwarfs didnt look like dwarfs to me... IT SUCKED> THey should have splitt Eragon into two parts. I GOT SO Excited and I was so disapointed after words...But saphira as a baby dragon was adorable ^_^ ;

Here's something I found that you all may enjoy...
The true name of the ancient language is hidden and has never been found. The Ra'zac mention that Gaklbatorix has almost found 'The Name' and Oromis mentions that in the past years Galbatorix has withdrawn once again (But not as much as he did when he was enslaving the Eldunari) and they don't know that it is. Is it possible that 'The name' is the true name of the ancient language? I think so!

never. the money that was brought in with Eragon wasn't as much as 20th Century Fox was hoping for and they decided just to cancel the whole thing. I wish they would make it though. Even though they cut out more than half the book, it was a great movie.

You know, the producers should freaking read the whole series before making a single movie. Anyone notice how Twilight is just plain creepy int he first movie? They put no enthusiasm in it that was in the books. Bella jumped into Edwards lap at one point. Screw movies, books are a million times better. Only the Harry Potter movies are decent.

I've read all books a couple of times and think I can say that i fairlt know what will happen in book 4. I think i can guarantee that the book ends with eragon goinf abroad and two dragons in the sky (Saphira and Thorn). Also i think the ancient language is fun. since many words there means the same in my language(Swesish). Drötningu (Drottning), Ganga (gång), Fram (Fram) etc.

The only sad thing about the rest of the eragon series... if they would make a movie of brisingr and eldest and the fourth book. Is that it wouldve missed out on so much story, the first movie shows only the surface i mean you don't even get to meet Orik xd. Many things in the first movie makes it impossible too take some other things from the other book. The whole dwarf section has been removed and you don't know who Jeod is... who helps roran in the second book. There's many things i can say

@pat5168 I agree that Elva is a definite possibility, but have you thought about Orik? It would balance out the three races, it would alleviate many dwarves angers about not being included in the Dragon Riders, and remember when Orik was on Saphira and he said it was freeing and exhilerating.

these are the people who i think might die in the 4th, maybe all of them or none of them idk how chris paolini works: nasuada, king orrin, orik, jormundur, trianna, islanzadi, murtagh, nar garzhvog, blodgharm, arya, roran, (galbatorix definitely) the only people who i wouldnt mind all that much if they died would be orrin, but the varden definitely needs his support. angela wouldnt die i know that much, neither would eragon or saphira. Im not saying that he's going to kill eragon, i just think that at least SOMEBODY is going to die... or at the very least everything isnt going to be perfect.

ok this is what i believe will happen. after the varden takes belatona and dras leona i think eragon will somehow discover his true name go to those rocks in the desert where the wild dragons gave their eldunari where they die (the rock of kuthien)
