うむむむ・・・ 様々な意味で、あまりにも情動を揺り動かされるライヴですネ。。 老境に差しかかると、あらゆることに感興が薄れてくる。 jazzもH・バップ、モード、フリーと聴き継いできたけれど、­いつの間にか興味を失い ほとんど耳を傾けなくなった。jazzがその時代々々の鮮烈な状­況を反映しなくなって、 いく久しいという思いもある。でもそんな停滞した晦渋気味なわた­しの内奥を突き破るに 余りあるほど、寺久保の演奏は‘ある意味’今の時代をリードし、­疾走感に満々ている。 基本的にパーカーのラインは色濃く受け継いでいるものの、独自の­イデオムも随所に 盛り込み、柔軟なアドリヴを展開している。それにしても、jaz­zそのものを生きてきた Ron Carterのまったく衰えを感じさせない演奏には、そのいかな­る時も紳士的な姿と 相まって思わず目が潤んでしまった。Omar Hakimのその嬉々とした表情もわたしを 喜ばせて余りある。そして、Will Boulware・・素晴らしいです。 現在のジャズ・ピニズムの鮮度を余すところなくそのイデオムに表­出していて秀逸。 有難うございました。

若い才能が次々出てきているようですが、この子は別格ですね。バ­－クリーでの演奏を聴くと分りますが、音楽性の幅の広さは飛び抜­けてます。矢野沙織さんが良くも悪くもパーカー以来のメインスト­リームジャズの香りを蘇らせる演奏なのに対し、寺久保さんは上原­ひろみに通ずる自在さを感じさせると言うと、ほめすぎでしょうか­。

Yeah it got a little funky time-wise a couple times, but that happens to all kinds of people at fast tempos, especially in a big performance hall, so......whatever. Who cares? It was swingin and she was listening and got back on when it was off.

I would disagree that Erena got lost, I had no trouble hearing where she went and was going. I would agree that the piano player could not hang. What impressed me the most was the originality. I didn't hear a bunch of Parker, Adderley, Woods, etc. licks. I heard original music. Oh, and her sound! This is not just some hot chick alto player, this is a REAL alto player. And, what 17 at the time?

She got lost. Rhythm section seemed to get turned around and werent together in spots also, still she looks promising!

Obviously she's a woodshedder. She got turned around three times on the tempo and Will Boulware couldn't really cut the tempo. Hopefully she will bring the tempo down somewhat so she doesn't get lost again.

I attended this concert last September. The concert hall was in the center of Tokyo.. It was fabulous. Hated to leave when it ended. This is just one of three encores!l. I sat between John Coltrane and Pete Fountain. They, too, were overwhelmed!
