I own a Sony Bravia LCD TV and had it for about 1 year, the LCD is giving me problems allready, I have to spend more money on fixing it than getting a new one.
PEOPLE,
sony is NOT as good as they used to be, since they have gained trust from people they figured "eh, why not sell them crappy ones so we make more money out of them".
Do NOT buy a Sony TV, there are THOUSANDS of people complaining about sony tvs and Sony won't admit that they did a shitty job.
@godwithin060988 in your opinion, which top 3-4 tv brands are the best cause i plan on buying either a 32' or 40' but i can't decide on that either :/
Based on what my uncles said, Samson is SUPPOSED to be a good TV, i have all 4 uncles who own Samson TVs for years with no problems so far.
But in MY opinion, i don't trust these TV makers anymore, i mean we all know the economy is getting worse and worse, so what are the chances that these corporations care deep enough for us to spend large amount of their OWN money in order to give us something of true value.
If you want a TV, then make sure you get it NEW and as cheap as possible.
The 1st Day i got Plasma it Broke in 1 hour From Watching a Movie it left Black Dots on my Screen.i took it back And Bought a LCD Never had a Problem i had the LCD for 10 years the Color Never Burned And no for the light never Dimmed
I had that HDTV since 2007 but I been noticing that its getting dimmer with the backlight and the colors are fading a bit but good thing I bought a new Bravia with 120hz even cheaper then my old one.
I can strongly recommend these V series Sonys. They are amazing, I have 52 inch one I got off Amazon for almost a year now and it gives great performance and just a really nice picture.
That is not true anymore, it used to be but not anymore. The problem with plasmas a few years ago was so called Burn-in. If there would be something static on the screen for a long time, it would burn in, and you would see that thing all the time, like a shadow or something. So playing games would be bad because of health bars and stuff like that. New plasmas dont have that problems. Also, on cheaper LCD's , picture can get blurry when something quick is on the screen.
What he's Trying to say is Plasma has Better Picture Frame but that Don't mean Nothing Because 1 Plasma Brakes a lot Quicker And Don't last as long Plus if u live in high Attitude the T.V will Brake u cant even play Games That Long On Plasma Because 1 it will Dim the T.v And 2 the Screen Will Burn out Plasma is made out of Gas other then LCD is made of Liquid Crystal
Wrong. Plasmas last LONGER than LCD's. Just check Panasonic plasma life times if you dont belive. Plus it has better, sharper and "faster" picture, and it can actually show dark colors unlike LCD, which cant. If you ever watched an LCD during night, you know what im talking about. Also, new plasma tv's dont have problems with burn-in. Thats a 10 year old myth, and if you treat your plasma right for the first 200 hours you wont have any problems.
samsung has cheap korean labors. better than china but it is still korea. samusungs technology comes from samsung japan because they are stealing a lot of engineers from those big japanese company.
Make sure you turn off the Noise reduction option on the sony TV this will clear up some of the ghosting or blurring. in the games and movies you see when the pictures scrolls left or right.
7000:1 , is the native contrast ratio. ie, in the same frame, the dif between white & black.
samsung boasting 50000:1 is dynamic contrast ratio which is the dif between brightest & darkest image the tv can show.
they can increase it by cranking up the backlight when they show white image & decreasing it on showing a darker one. we should look native one which the sony has 7000:1, meaning dif in the same frame.Usually the dynamic contrast will be 5 times higher than the native contrast ratio.
no. samsung sucks. you dont wanna have a copycat TV. they have a cost advantage so they can bring you a good PQ for low prices. if your looking for a great PQ, ignore samsung. go for sony.
Thanks, that assures me that I got a good T.V., I not as Tech-Savy as some people but I have a couple of people who know alot and I always try to ask them for good products.
rly good but hes a salesman so even 100:1 hell have to say its super good but id say 500,000 is rly good but today u can have some 1million on 1 for low prices
That tv is amazing, at this moment I don`t get an optimal definition because I still have cable tv,but with digital tv you get a whole new level ¤O_O¤

"ive never seen an HDMI input on an LCD" thats like saying ive never seen a car with power windows. stupid, and yeah thats the XBR3, now the XBR4 is out but not back when this was posted
7,000:1?
1080p?
Seems a bit outdated now.
My Viera is rated at 20,000:1 at 1900p.
But then again, the Viera is almost 3 years younger.
And it doesn't mean the Bravia isn't a wonderful tv, because it is.
jayrobb9 1 year ago
My Bravia is 4 years old and still better than many other expensive TVs.
Samsung is also realy good, but the habe Problems with shadoweffects same as philips.
I have never seen a Sony Bravia with these problems and I go for a new one with 3D at the end of 2011.
Oh yeah... the (Monolight) Designe is absolutely cool!

This is one of the sexiest LCD TV I've ever seen! The host is annoying and seems like he doesn't know what he's talking about.
