i find stigmata really amazing. i do not believe in Jesus as God but I find it dsiturbing that stigmta exist. It is a very strong evidence Jesus is God but what holds me back is that why the wounds not consistent in location? first only in hands, but when it was known that Jesus received the wound in the wrist, stigmatics suddenly has wounds on the wrist!
i have not heard of peoples wounds changing. we do not know for sure where the wounds were on jesus. most cases i have seen have been on his/her hands. even the most recent which was from the 90's i believe

I don't know the purpose of stigmatas..? I don't see our loving God inflicting that upon others. He took the cross so we wouldn't have to. So then why are people supposedly (nothing has been proven, I am not, however; calling anyone liars) having the crucifiction wounds like they too had been crucified. Yes they are saints but they are not Christ..the one and only gap between sin and God. Their wounds do nothing to further the kingdom of Heaven. So what is the purpose other than confusion?

If the wounds do not further the Kingdom of Heaven, the wounds are not true stigmata, created by God but an illusion by the devil. Why do almost only catholics get STIGMATA? Why not normal conservative Christians? I believe this is more Spiritism from Satan, than God's blessing! These do not represent the sufferings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Why? Christ was nailed through the wrists - not the palms. In the Bible the word "hand" covers the area from the fingers to the elbow.
However, God does warn us that He will send "a strong delusion" (2 Thess. 2:8-11) & allow Satan to perform many false miracles & healings to deceive the false church. See Matt. 7:21-22; 24:24; Rev. 13:11-15; 16:14;19:20. Jesus describes Catholicism in Rev. 17 & 18 and says He will destroy it.

maxtube22: I am curious why you chose Pope Leo (I assume the first Leo, who is called "the Great"). He called for the Council of Chalcedon in 451. Do you reject the teachings of this council? That is when the Oriental Orthodox Church split off, are you Oriental Orthodox or monophysite?

My bet is on Baptist. There was a 19th c. tract called "The Trail of Blood" in which Baptists were supposed successors of a hidden Church which manifested itself as classic heretics the Waldensians, Cathari, Paulicans, and Donatists.
Though it'd be interesting to see how Baptists were Cathars, since Cathars were Medieval Gnostics (though some Protestant groups display semi-Gnostic tendencies such as hatred of the material world as evil).

Miracles in the Catholic Church are thoroughly investigated and fakes weeded out. Do you really believe that St. Francis would go through all he did and live how he did just to end up a false stigmatic? Being the first, nobody knew how to take it anyway and he primarily tried to *hide* his wounds.
St. Padre Pio was accused of being a false stigmatic but that was not proved, despite repeated medical examinations. He was canonized so we know he is in Heaven, though it doesn't prove the stigmata

I don't know the purpose of stigmatas..? I don't see our loving God inflicting that upon others. He took the cross so we wouldn't have to. So then why are people supposedly (nothing has been proven, I am not, however; calling anyone liars) having the crucifiction wounds like they too had been crucified. Yes they are saints but they are not Christ..the one and only gap between sin and God. Their wounds do nothing to further the kingdom of Heaven. So what is the purpose other than confusion?

If the wounds do not further the Kingdom of Heaven, the wounds are not true stigmata, created by God but an illusion by the devil. Every miracle that God performs is to further the Gospel, but the devil does fantastic wonders in order to mesmerize people, who are easily deceived by the supernatural.

Are we not Christians? We are "little Christs", we are called upon to be in union with Christ, to sacrifice ourselves and to die with Him on the Cross, so that we may be raised with Him in the Resurrection.
We take Holy Communion, infusing the Divinity of Christ, which we consume, with our own bodies -- you are what you eat. Our purpose in life is to be in union with God.
God has blessed some people with an outward sign of this union, giving them the blessing of sharing His Wounds.

Whether you believe in God or not, He believes in you. Thank you for posting this. Also, stigmata can be caused by three things. There is the authentic stigmata which is the mark of God, one caused by Satan which inflicts trickery and confusion, and one inflicted upon self. We must be cautious to judge so quickly at what is truth and what is false. For those who do not believe - it is in the heart that makes us blind and dead to faith.

Why do almost only catholics get STIGMATA? Why not normal conservative Christians? I believe this is more Spiritism from Satan, than God's blessing! IF you are very close to God and follow Jesus steps, that doesn't mean you can get stigmata. REMEMBER THAT STIGMATA IS MOSTLY CATHOLIC AND NOT A CHRISTIAN SYMBOL! You can also get guidance from Dark Lord/Satan/Demons , and somebody thinks he is Jesus/God. Think more for yourself before you get into this MESS!

All though, If you please, if She is the Holy Spirit then how was she infact full of the Holy Spirit herself to give birth to Jesus Christ? I respect Mary very much, but Jesus gave people the Holy Spirit after he went to Heaven. So then how is Mary the Holy Spirit? Who told you that? Catholics don't believe Mary is the Holy Spirit, Mary is just a human being like you or me, not God! But she was chosen by God to be His temple, He lived in her for nine months and under her authority for 30 years until He began His public ministry.
Mary is sometimes called "The Spouse of the Holy Spirit" because the Holy Spirit conceived Jesus in Her (e.g. Lk 1:35; the Apostles and Nicene Creeds), perhaps that started the confusion.
