The narrator is talking like that because she is trying to hide her accent. So she is focused on pronunciation.
She has a really thick Brooklyn accent. You can hear it sometimes if you listen closely enough.

totally agree with Matt, doing the stunts for real makes it FEEL real. i can't stand cgi and they're practically in every film out there today. i just yawn every time i see "special" effects.
