The best artist I have ever had the privilege of experiencing.
The last performance I saw was at Cafe Au Go Go in the Village.
His marriage with Suzanne was ending. He sang "Once Touched By Flame."
He turned to Warren Bernhardt who was playing keyboard and asked if they could do it again. After the last hymn, the seventy or so people reached out their hands, most of us weeping, as he left the stage.
The most heart rending CD I possess is 'Suite For Susan Moore and Damian.'
@TheBigDelicious I saw him there as well or maybe it was The Bottom Line on a night he could not play guitar because of a pinched nerve it was the first time I heard Once Touched By a Flame ,Susan was sitting in the next row from my girlfriend and me ,he never took his eyes off her,
Southern Butterfly: Tim hardin where i'll walk and life is warm. sun and breath, hopefully here our hearts are blessed ::Texas real, a woman sworn to man Here i've tried, here i've tried to be the best So hot it's fine and real to me I'd stay awake all night asking you Silent Sympathy I know something new Southern Butterfly in you:: 2x Our childhood has been lived Patiently, painfully by you and me grtz Hans
@Jagger62 as far as I can tell The Home Coming Concert is no longer in print. His equally brilliant 1968 live recording Tim Hardin 3 In Concert at the Town Hall is kind of pricey. I had the pleasure of seeing Tim in person in 1969.
By 1969 Tim's muse was gone and his psychiatric problems were beginning to take over his life. But when he was ready he could still compose the most beautiful and heartfelt songs there are.

Definitely a high point of Long Tall Timmy's later career.
The song is breathtaking in its simplicity, but the raw emotion gives it incredible power.
I wish he hadn't left us.
Sleep well, Tim.

Such a hauntingly beautiful voice. Such a shame he's gone. I can't believe I'd never heard of him before today.
