Yeah why do you have PHYSX OFF??? if ur on win7 right click game, then launcher, and switch physx to ON then HIGH =) my 5870 does 265FPS with no physx on

I was about to say the 5870 should be doing well into the 200's because my GTX 275 OC Ed. does 205 at 1920X1080 everything maxed with Physx and Max AA+AF. Even while recording with Fraps it Pings fraps to its max.

PhysX is one of the MANY reasons to buy from Nvidia. (don't make me list them, I don't know THAT much about computers but I'm sure you can find some random benchmarks somewhere on the internet). It's a business tactic. If PhysX really doesn't make that much of a difference to you, why are you going so crazy over it?

PhysX is nothing else than a mediocre physics library, based on the ancient ODE code, programmed over CUDA in order to accelerate some calculations on the parallelized architecture of a GPU, something that can be done too with OpenCL or DirectCompute, with the advantage of not being propietary APIs. The best physics libraries (Havok, Bullet, Pixelux DMM...) are being ported to OpenCL right now, so PhysX is about to die. That, and current ATI cards are more powerful, cheaper and DX11 compliant...

nvidia gtx 295 quad sli (most powerful has directx10) ati radeon hd 5870 in crossfire (not the most powerful but does have directx11)

Oh, and about the reason why people is annoyed about PhysX: it's because it introduces the exclusivity factor in an area which should be transparent to hardware how it's PC software. That's why standard APIs such as DirectX, OpenGL, OpenCL, and so are made, in the first place. Some of you like it because you are brand fanboys and you only want excuses to buy your favourite brand and consider yourself better. The general consumers as me, are annoyed by these kind of things. We shouln't support it

and no im not a fanboy ive just seen the upcoming specs of nvidas card and im not gonna buy the FIRST directx 11 cards (ati 5000 series) so they can be outdated when there are some actual decent games that utilize it (aka a new crysis)

Well actually, it's only exclusive because ATI have kept it that way. Nvidia have offered the technology to AMD, who didn't take them up with it. and i can see why! with the approach of physics via Opencl.

1) It doesn't add Barley! There isn't a single trace of cereal throughout the game! Have you ever thought that maybe Nvidia actually makes good graphics cards? You can see how many people agree with you in your first comment.

2) You might have played it, but do you OWN a 295? If you do, I don't see why you would be spewing your opinions all over the comments section of this video. Just admit that PhysX has some cool whizzy little visual bells and whistles that make games a little cooler!

If PhysX wasn't on, you wouldn't be able to see it. It adds to the game. It doesn't matter if it could have been pre-animated. The fact of the matter is, you can only see it with PhysX turned on. I've been playing the game with this turned on, and you haven't. I would know how much it adds to the game, you wouldn't.

Well, it was definitely an option for me like 3 weeks ago when I played it. You have to look through the Batman demo files to find all the options for the graphics.

Look for "Launcher" in the files. That's where you enable and disable PhysX.
