Random question here, but I was messing around on Sarpy County GIS the other day and noticed that Papillion provides fire coverage for a good chunk of land around your district 2 station. Do the SID's contract out individually for fire or will that change eventually to LaVista?
@jessep28 Papillion has always been the department responsible for covering the "county fire district". They cover their city and all of the unincorporated areas east of roughly 144th St. LaVista has annexed quite a bit recently but there's some sort of hold up on other areas right around Station 2. So for right now when there's a call at Rotella's, Papio Fire drives right past LVFD to respond there...politics! We could go out to 168th in the semi-near future, so I hear.
@lightbarlover I would assume that 611 is the truck number (Example: our fire department is Station 16, 116, 216, 316, 416 (X16) is the station, where X is the truck number (truck 1XX truck 2XX truck 3XX). The neighboring town is station 36, so their trucks are 136, 236, 336. Not sure if La Vista is the same way, but that's how I see it lol
@lightbarlover JeepGuy is on the right track...Sarpy County's old numbering system was similar to what he described. LaVista was the 600's & they're the only dept. that hasn't changed. Officers are 601-605, squads are 610's, brush trucks 620, engines 630's, ladders 6550's and utility 660
@LogicallyUndeniable yep, gonna put the camera back in my car. Figured everyone gets tired of the same old thing...90% of the time I respond from my house, but if you keep watching I'll keep posting!
@runhot0576
So papio responds to calls just a block away from station 2? that doesn't sound to smart. does papio station 1 or 2 cover that area

@Hex13337 well I did, but the cold keeps thwarting the suction cup...

@runhot0576
Did I just watch (8:18pm) this head out from station 2 ? If so then the video does no justice at all to its lights
Hex13337 1 month ago
@Hex13337 I'm not sure...it's out of station 1, but it coulda been over there for something. The lights are pretty sweet if I do say so myself!

I stand corrected then, all I've seen is that station from park view, and station 2 from 108th. Didn't even know 1 had a north lot.
Hex13337 1 month ago
@Hex13337 Yep, actually both stations have 2 parking lots. I had to use the north lot because of the sun

Actually this video is in the north lot of Station 1. The first video I did was at Station 2 yesterday when we got it back.
