thanks for the comparison....I have a 2005 gibby custom and a 1989 orville by gibson standard vintage sunburst and its got one awsome patina...and truthfully,I prefer the OBG..it just feels like a 59,with a narrow neck and I prefer just the top binding and trapazoid inlays anyway..but in your comparrison ,the two gibsons sound much alike but I think the obg,would win slightly..but its how they feel....which do you think feels the best?my next axe will be edwards lp130..LP'S RULE!!!
ive got a original Orville by gibson les paul standard cherry sunburst (not a reissue) does any 1 know any 1 else that has 1? ive looked on youtube and i aint found any 1 yet lol unless im just a lazy fucker not looking hard enough (very possible)
Sorry, no. I was searching for months and months . . . you need to look at japanese Yahoo auctions and certain shops in japan like Ishibashi. But you may need a lot of time - but it is worth it, believe me. The LPC90 is a perfect '57 Reissue. Fat neck, all mahogany, ebony fretboard. Sounds huge and fat.
Orville, the BEST sounding les paul of Japan. Its Gibson, by disguise...Upgrade the stock cheap hardwares & pups and then you hear the big difference in sound. Mine is with 490/498 4 conductor open coil. IMHO, better than studio, great sound, versatile...peace
Hi mate great playing and great guitars - do you rate the japanese epiphones?? I have an elitist which is great and thinking of getting a Jap Epi non elitist - like the one you are playing. You recommened???
@eharch79: Hi Steve, The jap. Epis are awesome guitars, but very hard to find outside Japan. I'd go with the "90" guitars (LPC90 - ebony board, reissue of of a '57 custom or the LPS90 - reissue of the '59 LP). I found mine in the U-Box of Ishibashi and ordered direct. They are calls A dealers IMO.
@Macsk8ing they are licensed by gibson. they are japanese made by the same factory that now makes high end gretschs. anyway, they play just as good if not better than their gibson counter parts. the late 80's early 90's weren't seen as a good period for gibson quality in the US, but these lack no quality whatsoever! best LP for the price hands down. i only wish they came with ebony fretboards :(
Sehr interessanter Vergleich, für mich gewinnt die Edwards, liegt wohl auch zum grossen Teil an dem Rockinger Bellbucker- erstaunlichen Ton den der bringt. 5***** danke für den Vergleich

How much did they all cost separately?

@diablo9333
The Edwards is around 900$, the Orville and Epiphone around 1000-1200 $ normally.

@Macsk8ing
licensed by gibson, but it doesn't matter, it only matters if they are good:)
I would even be worried more if it was made by gibson:p
