When I was about 8, I was shopping for a game for my SNES. There was this game and a Yogi Bear game I couldn't decide on. I chose the Yogi Bear game. This decision altered the future forever and will only hasten the coming of Lavos. We must travel back in time, to the year 1996, and punch my 8 year old self in the face for being a complete idiot. This will make me come to my senses and choose Chrono Trigger, thus altering the future, and saving the world from utter annihilation from Lavos.
Why is there so much misunderstanding regarding the box art? This is simply the triple tech "Arc Impulse" only available if your party consists of Chrono/Frog/Marle. Frog launches Chrono towards the enemy while Marle enchants his sword on FIRE. The two swordsmen proceed with a vertical X strike.
Chrono trigger holds such dear memories to me. I was just a godamn child people. Why is it when we get older we think about child hood so much? I do and I think of these godamn games. I beat this game for the first time a few days ago. You know a game is good when you can play a 16-bit game in this day and age and get totally devoured by it. I highly recommend it to anyone who is frustrated with the current pattern of games.
I also bought this game for the first time a few days ago. I missed out on it during the SNES days (and honestly I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed it as much back then), and I'm very happy with it. I love how the outcome of the game and the events in it are often dependent on the choices you make, and the battles are fun and fast paced.
Although I'm also a FF fan, some elements in this game remind me a little more of games like Golden Sun, which I'm a HUGE fan of XD

One of the all-time great fanboy arguments is "FF6 or Chrono Trigger?" Unique among fanboy arguments in that rarely does anyone say "your game sucks"...it's more like "your game's good but mine is the greatest of all time!"
There are two versions of this song in the game actually (sytar and piano), this is one is displayed when you are in the floating island, after it collides the other one that you recall is set.
It was done because Marle was initially going have fire spells because of her "fiery" personalty, was later changed for her to use ice and they didn't update the cover art.
Forgot where I read that from, but it was done in an interview of a game developer many years later
@Godmatik20 Actually, Akira made a great part of the artwork prior to the actual programming of the game. Later, when stabilishing the mechanics and details of the gameplay, the developers just decided to use Ice spells for Marle instead of the Fire spells that are seen on the art.
My guess is that they wanted to keep her as a "companion" to Crono, so they added healing spells to Marle. But Fire spells are aggressive and wouldn't make sense to use those with the healing spells.

Secret of Mana (I like it's style)
Dragon Quest I-II-III (Great storyline and music)
Any of these is much better than the whole collection of FF games.

There are two versions of this song in the game actually (sytar and piano), this is one is displayed when you are in the floating island, after it collides the other one that you recall is set.

It was done because Marle was initially going have fire spells because of her "fiery" personalty, was later changed for her to use ice and they didn't update the cover art.
Forgot where I read that from, but it was done in an interview of a game developer many years later

@Godmatik20 Actually, Akira made a great part of the artwork prior to the actual programming of the game. Later, when stabilishing the mechanics and details of the gameplay, the developers just decided to use Ice spells for Marle instead of the Fire spells that are seen on the art.
My guess is that they wanted to keep her as a "companion" to Crono, so they added healing spells to Marle. But Fire spells are aggressive and wouldn't make sense to use those with the healing spells.

I've always said that was the first boss battle against that Yandra guy or whatever. Where you're saving Marle. I think It's actually Lucca, but I'm not too sure.

The person in the picture is definitely Marle, which is the person you save, but yeah, Lucca uses fire, Marle uses Ice.
