-sigh- we as Americans have been through alot. Pearl harbor was the first yes that struck us in a place that hurt but it was rebuilt *i think* but when the twin towers went down we were struck so hard that it has takes some of us many years to finally accept what has happened. They think they can bring us down but now look at us right now we maybe in a depression but were still together as a nation and we always will be no matter what happens we are one
They all can bomb us. Attack us. Try to break us down. But we're still here. We're still American. And we'll ALWAYS be proud. God bless the U.S.A. and God bless those who think they can take being American away. That they will see that through all they've done, we're still standing. Tall and proud. America's still standing.
Ten years... I don't know that I'll ever forget where I was when this happened, or all the emotions of that day. I'll never forget how people everywhere managed to put aside their differences and come together that day, to help pick up the pieces, or just to stand together, as Americans. And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way. It reminded us of who we are and what we stand for. To forget that day, the people lost and lessons learned, is just... unthinkable.
when i first saw the live footage of this day i had to leave the room, i started crying. I still cant believe it happened when i was at least five, they say my generation is going to be the last to remember as well as others
What happened to this world? I lost so much on that day and eigth years after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack! So, you damn well should know that I'm proud to be an AMERICAN! 30,000 lives were lost that dreadful day, but we keep those peoples' memories close to our hearts...
I was in seventh grade when we where told what happened barely maybe one hour after the attacks by our history/science teacher. I was an outcast since that day because 9/11 is my birthday. R.I.P
i was only 4, but that doesn't mean i don't remember how scared i was. GOD BLESS AMERICA!! *waves American flag* if you disliked this for no good enough reason, shame on you. DX LONG LIVE ALFRED F. JONES!!!!!
I was four when this happened, but I remember listening to this song during the time. Let us not forget, such terrible acts aren't really about America, they're about people and the world - that we inflict such things upon each other.
I was 7 when it happened. I remember the teachers crying and listening to the radio and watching the news trying to understand what was happening. It was one day i will never forget. God bless the USA and all the amazing men and women in the armed forces!
The whole of England's thoughts are with America on this day that marks ten years since the awful attacks. All my love goes out to the families of the vitctims that lost their lifes, I was only four when I saw it on the news but I still could at least understand how horrible it was. God bless America. <3
Good video, horrific event... What I find one of the worst of American history..
No one forget the four flights and four places they landed... The World Trade Centre as depicted as well as the Pentagon and those who fought in United Airlines flight 93..
I was 12 when it happened. I remember the teachers turning on the TV and crying. We found out right before lunch, which none of us could stomach eating. We will never forget what happened that day or what it meant for the families of the victims or the country in general. God Bless America!
=( One more day until the saddest day of US History, I just want to say how sorry to all those poor children's fathers or any poor soul who was a victim to that dreadful day that we still care about you...you all r still in our hearts forever, we will never forget the day the sky rained black ashes from the Twin Towers who was attacked by those terroists...and lets all clap our hands that the man behind this is finally dead....GOD BLESS AMERICA! ^_^
I was too young to understand what happened, though my family cried. My dad was a firefighter, and we live in Ashland. A touching moment about 9/11... my great grandmother saw it on the news, and began to cry. At the time, she was babysitting my cousin- six months older than me- and my cousin said 'why are you crying?' I thought I would share that, and express gratitude for all the people who reach out to America every day- from within our boundries or out of them.
i love america with all my heart and all the people that love america too even if there its nice to know that we have rights iam proud to be american. Even if i was born in another country i would still luv america :)
The economy's shit, the politicians are corrupted, the people are ignorant, the relationships are bad, the wars are pointless and two long, the terrorists get in too easily. But the armed forces are filled with volunteers, the pledge of allegiance is said every morning all across the nation, the fourth of July is filled with celebration, and we continue to fight. We're not perfect, but we're pretty dang good.
I would say something touching and from the heart about how much I love this video, but all these wonderful people have already said what I was thinking. And you have all said it better than I ever could.
I love my country through everything us Americans have been through together! Pearl Harbor, 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, those darn tornadoes, and everything else! We still stand proud together!! I LOVE YOU AMERICA!!! :')
I was 5 when it happened and I remember sitting in school waiting for my mom to pick me up. While I didn't understand exactly what was happening I could see how upset and scared everyone was. It wasn't until a few years that I learned one of the planes--Flight 93--was actually hijacked right above my city (Cleveland). We have a flag now right below the spot where the plane turned around...
I was only 4 then... But I do remember the =[ faces on everybody. It truely tested our patriotism! BUT WE WILL ALWAYS STAND TOGETHER RATHER YOUR AMERICAN OR NOT!
This is the first AMV that's ever made me cry. In a good way, of course. I think it's because I could sing along and I remember what was happening when I was four years old. Thank you. :,)
i was about 5 or so when this happened i didnt really understand wat was going on but my whole neighbor hood was silent and my neighbors were crying cuz there son was int he world trade center T^T
It really captures not only the spirit of the character America, but the whole basis of the country and what we stand for. I most certainly am proud to be an American.
I was sleeping when it happened...I was 4 years old and it was my Birthday...9/11 has a very special place in my heart <3 This video brought me to tears..
Okay 44 seconds into the damn video and I'm already crying. I was 13 when it happened and I remember that day soooo vividly. I will never forget it. Sometimes I see footage of it and I still can't believe it. I appreciate that even today, almost ten years since, people are still sympathizing. I can't say how much it means to me.
I was 4 when this happened and i was in preschool and suddenly all the day-care people ran into the main office where there was a t.v. and they were crying or calling there family members about the news. I love Hetalia because it makes me feel happy that everyone in the world can get together and have fun with each other, so basically it unites the world, even though they are just characters it still makes me happy watching it :)
I was 8 when it happened.... I can't beleive it's been ten years.... everytime I go into my neighbors house I see the cross made from the twisted metal from the towers that hangs on his wall... and I remember him telling me, he lost all his friends who were firefighters climbing the towers trying to get people out... they were true heroes
I love how everyone has come together it shows that even though were from different lands and cultures, that we are all still human. I love you all <3
i remember that on 9 11 my mom came in my room and started crying. she held me and i couldn't understand what she was saying. my brother died that day. i cry every year, yet for some reason i cant bring myself to hate those ppl. because i cry for them too.
@uchihalova2 I'm sorry to hear that, my dad's friend who he talked to on the phone about a hour before the attack died and he came home and said ''I lost my best friend today." and he just hugged me and my sister for at least a hour while he was crying, i wish i understood what was happening back then, and i can't seem to hate anyone either :(
What I remember best was feeling consumed by a blinding rage....that was only eased when I saw the world grieving with us. It's easy to get isolated as an American and no longer even see the rest of the world.
Made me cry :( I lived in New York at the time and moved to another state because of what happened that day. Nowa days you see even other Americans saying they hate their country and I think that's disgraceful. They don't realize that other countries wouldn't even let you speak out against them like that. I will always be proud to be an America no matter what and live in the best country on earth :)
Since everyone is talking about the 9/11 attacks why don't I. :X When it happened my father was crying (I was 4 so I don't really remember much or what was going on, but I can never forget saying my father crying, I lost my brother because of these extremists :/), before I watched this video I was Sri Lankan, now I'm an American. :) <3
... oh god. I read the comments before I watched the video, and felt that warmth that most of the commenters mentioned. On 9/11, I was in band rehearsal in my first year of high school. A classmate of mine who had gone to the nurses' office came back yelling, "WE'VE BEEN ATTACKED!" and we had no idea what was going on. Everyone was scared for months afterward.
Then I pressed play on the video and the ONE SONG that makes me overly emotional in patrotism plays. I love you for this. All of it.
This was just a year after I was born, so, of course I don't remember it. but those photos.... they positively broke my heart. because so many families, friends, and lovers had just lost someone they probably waved to that morning, thinking they were going to come home from work. America, we're lucky to have so many people supporting us, and, of course, this is the turning point of the war. ;u;
I was six when this happened, but I remember being confused being scared because my mom crying. My grandparents were very lucky that day. Their plane had left a few minutes after the first plane hit, but luckily turned back.
It's scary that so many people's lives were taken that day in such a short period of time, but what scares is that it could easily happen again at an even larger scale.
I think I was six when this happened. I remember being in the first grade and there being all this commotion going on. I think we watched it on TV but I can't be sure. Being so young, the whole event was sort of a blur. D:
I was about 8 or 9 I think, I was at school I think when another teacher came to our room really shocked with the newspapers to talk to our teacher, and then both started crying, and I didn't get what I was going on. D: When my mom came to pick me up after school she told me about the Twin Towers and stuff and I couldn't believe it, I think I had nightmares about it. :(
I'm french but honestly I think it affected the whole world not just the US. :( God bless America :)
i remember when this happened even though i was little. i remember being scared because of how my mother gasped and started to cry. We live across the country but the pain was still felt. i also feel that Hetalia is more than just a comedy and that it brings all kinds of people together.
I was 3 when this happened I live in illinoise but. No one around my area headed about it until we watched the news. I remember eating icecream on my grandmas couch and watching it. At first I thiught it was a movie or something and I couldn't figure out why my mom and grandma were crying.
I remember when I was about three, I was at home eating Fruit Loops in my favorite cereal bowl. I could hear what was happening, the whole city of New York City was dead silent. As if you hit the mute button. You cool hear the screams, and the tears of families.
I love this video it brings a little tear to my eye every time I watch it, very nice work. I am proud to be an American.
i was 7 when it happened but i remember it all the pp scream on the new and run away from the cloud i was there crying because those pp are getting hurt. i think i was sick that day and stay home that the one part i cant remember but i do know what happen and i was by myself mother was going out to talk to her friend and saw all the new things about what was happening still remember all the new broad cast of it give me bad dreams of that my dad would have being in NY when this happen
I was around 4 or 5 when it happened and all I knew was that my parents were late to pick me up from school, I live in California, but even there people were affected. It makes me wonder how the other characters in hetalia would have reacted if it was mentioned in an episode?
@magicalkitten1 I'm afaid not. One of the main reasons al qaeda hates America is they feel that we are contaminating their culture with ours. Our movies and such. So, they still would hate us no matter what we do.
I don't remember where I was when the planes crashed into the towers, but my mom was watching the news when it happened right there and then. It made her and my older sister cry. I was too young to understand back then, but I wish I did
my Country (America) has screwd things up.and we are still doing it.But still our lands are pretty I was 5 when it happened.I was watching Carttons and the news popped up.Since I was little I had no clue what was happening. My Dad I stood up from the couch and saw the 2nd plane hit the building. He rushed and packed up all his stuff. He called My Mother and told her to Get the Hell Home now.as soon as my dad hung up the phone. After that my dad left and went to down there(milarty)i sawhimayearlater
I think the US i stupid and they do stupid things.....but i can't help but love the country it's just something special and like the rest of the world it's beautiful<33
I was...11 when it happened? I was in school (US) & it was a usual day. No one knew what had happened, but I was called down suddenly to be taken out of school, along with a few others. Before that, because my teacher didn't know what was going on, she turned on the TV and made a bad decision by showing us. Most of you have seen the videos, so I won't go into gory detail. I still think about it.
Watching something like that as a child leaves a lasting impression. Most people don't realize that.
I was 5 when it happened, and I'm not even American, so it didn't really get to me what was going on, but as the years went by, and I understood more and more of it, it still didn't get to me what happened. I only just realized what an impact 9/11 must've had on a lot of people. I can't help but feel sorry for them. Once someone held a talk about it in school, and showed some footage of people jumping from the buildings. That was the real shocker.
I saw that part in a documentary (2009) about the 9/11 attack, I didn't exactly SEE it because I was told by my mom to close my eyes. I didn't need to be told, I guessed what happened next so I closed my eyes ;_;
I live in america and when i found out that the twin towers were distroyed i went to the phone and called my dad he never picked up until i found out he was dead........ But i managed i got to raid to his closet found some candy .
i was 9 about to turn 10 in 3 days when it happened. i found out about it the next day though from my crush. when he said that towers fell i thought he meant an old tower in europe or something. i didn't think much of it until the teacher began talking to us about it. it was later when i figured out just how dramatic it really was.
agreed kik. i was 6. still rember everyone getting taken outta class then when my dad picked me up there were sirens EVERWHERE. then i went home and saw what happend on the news.
I cant beleive its been 9 years since the attack, I may not really know much about it because when it happened i was only 5 but it really grinds on my nerves that people can turn around and say that the attack was an inside job. This video is just so beautiful it makes me want to cry everytime i watch it. I may not be an American but I can sympathize with you all. God bless the U.S.A!
i totally searched for 5 hours looking for america's birthday...and then i found out it was the forth of july and i felt stupid cuz you'de think i would know that....
I was only six, watchin' Loony toons, and it came on and my Mommy pulled me and my sister away from the t.v and said, "No watching that fer you two". Sad. Good video <3~
For some reason I remember it being well, even if I was only a little girl. I was....9 when the planes hit. It was a beautiful autumn day, with the trees just changing colors. I remember the sirens going off, the school being put on lockdown, and trying to find my younger sister to keep her with me. Family first, you know? The teachers (what they were thinking I DO NOT know) turned on the TVs. I saw those people jumping from the building, burning alive and hitting the ground. I was only nine.
I can't believe it's been Nine years since this event. It still brings me to tears. . .I was only six at the time. I think the whole school left early to watch the news and be with their families. I didn't know what it all ment, but I wish I found out sooner.
i'm an american. i was 7 and i remember nothing. i do remember all the stuff on TV and angry people that came after it though. i lived on a military base in the desert at the time because my dad (who is a chemist) was working there. it was mostly for the development of bombs and some biological warfare stuff, so before 9/11, there were maybe 2 soldiers stationed there. later that day, there were a couple hundred soldiers marching through the streets.
Why is it that I know the lyrics to this song already?
I was only seven in second grade when they locked down the school and it took hours for my mom to come and get me. She didn't tell me what was happening though oAo;;
I don't think I even found out what happened until a year later in my 3rd grade class.
I am American. I am Free. To those who would try to take that from me, to those who threaten me and my country...you may knock us down, we may bleed, we make hasty chocies...But we are FREE. WE will rise and Stand Tall. When we fall, we get up. We are stubborn so we don't give up. God Bless the USA indeed.
@Nikalian88 oh. my. god. i love this comment. if i could like it more than once, i would. when this happened it was the day before my third birthday. i barely remember what happened, i don't remember learning about it; or being told about it. but i have the memory, etched into the back of my mind, and often, it will scream out, and it comes back loud and clear. so yes. god bless the usa. these 9/11 rememberance videos, nomatter where you are from, the uk,france, japan; anywhere, are touching. :')
I am an American, and I find it very moving that a number of people here who aren't Americans still sympathize with us and say kind words.
That is very beautiful.
It is a wonderful thing for everyone to express to each other, and by writing those comments, people show compassion and unity that, sadly, others often forget about/deny are there.
Hetalia brings people together in real life; what more could you ask for?
I guess what I'm saying is...;_; I LOVE YOU GUYS, TOO! *hugs*
For example I don't sympathize only for americans, it's clear that I love your people and your land... but I don't think that it's just a matter of being American, under those rubbles died many people that weren't.
Your phrase "Hetalia brings people together in real life; what more could you ask for?" warms my heart, I think that about Hetalia...but many people ignore this. *reciprocates the hug* <3
@GiuliaPepy you are missing the point, all those epople wherther they were american or not, were killed for being IN america. so it's not an attack on other countries just jcause there were epople from othewr countries there. They were attacked for being in america, and because the terrorists thought thwey wqere American. So it doesn't matter where any of the vixtims were born, they were all American on 9/11. T
@GiuliaPepy There were plenty of muslims in that huiolding that day, as rthere were plenty of australians, and malaysians, and chinese... but they were not kiled for being malaysia, or for being austyralian or chinese...
BUt ever single american in that building was killed just for being american. If you don't understand that then yur an idiot. Just pbecauser there were other nationalities that died, doesn't changed the fact that it was AMERICA that was attacks, not any of those other country.
I think I'm about to cry because my started to water for a bit.I was 5 when 9/11 happened and though I don't remember what happened,I remember feeling intense anger and sadness coming from my parents. Now that I know what happened I feel angry at Osama and I'm glad he's finally dead! My family is extremely loyal to the USA because both sides have a long military history or at least on my dad's side.Military Family since the WAR OF1812,baby! FTW
This video made me cry...the pictures...the song...and the fact that today is 9/11... WAHHH! great video though :) sucks that it has to be about such a sad event
It's hard to believe that it's been 9 years already.....I remember where I was as the first plane hit, even though I was just six...And I remember being sent home from school and sitting in my family room watching the news...I didn't understand what was going on then, sort of wish I did though.
This video is beautiful, it gets me all teary eyed. ;-; I feel so proud to be American.
@CinderCelenkus At least you knew @.@ My parents didn't tell me exactly what happened...I just knew that something had happened and dad couldn't fly us on our family vacation because air traffic was shut down ;-; Took like five years for anyone to tell me what had actually happened ;-;
I was 9 years old when it happened, I remember it well: I was watching cartoons after lunch when at one point were interrupted by urgent news, I thought it was a movie ... I couldn't believe it! While the reporter was saying "maybe it's an accident" the second plane crashed. Then my parents came into the living room and started shouting "I can't believe it!! Why is that?" so, even if you aren't American, 3000 victims caused by human intents don't leave unmoved.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO....but everytime there was a picture of the towers it was like a punch in the gut to me. 9/11 is in 6 days.... its been 9 years already...wow.
My Birthday is the day after 9/11 and this was a very touching video. Our country, like it has already been said, has problems, but it's still a very honorable country. *sings* "I'm proud to be an American!"
I know it's going to sound a bit silly, but this video made me appreciate my country so much. ^^ Kitsunefire92 pretty much summed it all up. There's a lot to be thankful for, despite the problems, and if we work, we can fix the problems. As citizens, that's what our jobs are, right? Appreciate our country, and make it (and the world) a better place~
Upon hearing the song, I started singing along and thought 'how the heck do I know this word per word?!' Lol XD Being an American, i guess that's expected of me...
The pictures of the 9/11 disaster always makes me cry T^T
Awesome Vid! wuv Hetalia's America, he represents the American way so well ;D
Beautiful... simply beautiful! *Wipes tears from her eyes*
The pictures of Alfred that were chosen, and the images from Sept. 11th, blend together seamlessly, and heart-wrenchingly, with the music. It's a very, very, very moving. Beautifully done and perfectly executed.
*faves*
You did an AMAZING job on this and I commend you on an excellent and most moving video! BEAUTIFUL WORK AND WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL DONE!! :)
This video makes me both happy and sad at the same time. ;_; <3 I love my country. I'm sad because that day was an emotional day for all Americans, but happy because for once I can see an America tribute video without all the people who like to rip on America for everything. Here, I feel like I can just be proud of my country without people telling me I shouldn't be.
It's songs like these that make me feel proud to be an American. Sure we have our problems...but when it comes down to it, we can be united and stand together during times of crisis!!!
-sigh- we as Americans have been through alot.

God bless the US.

Beautiful video. God Bless the USA.

Made me cry :( I lived in New York at the time and moved to another state because of what happened that day. ...
All of it.

I'm British but I find this so beautiful. You have an awesome country, although alot of the citizens need to remember that I think. =]

*faves*

This video makes me both happy and sad at the same time. ;_; <3 I love my country. I'm sad because that day was an emotional day for all Americans, but happy because for once I can see an America tribute video without all the people who like to rip on America for everything. Here, I feel like I can just be proud of my country without people telling me I shouldn't be.

It's songs like these that make me feel proud to be an American. Sure we have our problems...but when it comes down to it, we can be united and stand together during times of crisis!!!
