I tore down a 1998 chevy 2.2 LN2 yesterday.

I noticed that the connecting rods are symterical.

One side has a "tab" sort of sticking out and the other side is flat.

Can you tell me which side goes to the front and which goes to the back?

i didnt know any of the 2.2L engines had distributors. even my 91 cavalier 2.2L TBI has coil packs

I have to take apart a 2.2 litter engine just like u did for my college class work...

I took a class in highschool and rebuilt that same engine there, while the other guys in my class were doing V8 motors I'm a complete idiot and I managed to finish mine at about the same time they finished the Mustang motors. I thought this engine was easy.

I have 1996 S10 with a 2.2 engine is it necessary to pull the engine out just to get the oil pan off are can I loosen the engine mts in pull the bolts out in holst the motor up with a cherry pick hi enought to get the oil pan off.I think my center cap for #4 piston came off i have to see if there any demages in #4 cylinder wall

my teacher at high school has like 5 of the exact engine and i completely tare it down to bare block like this vid then put it back together it was fun and easy
