@therealglorious Jesus didn't even want a religion based on him. He just wanted to reform Judaism (his true religion). Judaism was never meant to spread to gentiles until Paul of Tarsus corrupted it all so he could take revenge against Rome for their persecutions and give a semetic religion power over an empire. If you're going to be religious, practice the religion of your heritage, not one that was diffused into the world so underhandedly.

@therealglorious Through archeology we were able to trace back the history of this "creator". YHWH was originally the patron god of the desert dwelling people of the Canaan region. He was one of a pantheon patron deities of Canaan, along with Ba'al in Phoenicia and Dagon in Philistia. He even had a wife named Asherah. All were subjects to the supreme god, El. At some point, the desert Canaanites broke ties with their semetic cousins and ascended YHWH as the true supreme deity of Canaan.

@therealglorious I keep hearing this stuff about prohpecy. What prophecies? Does the bible predict the future like Nostradamus? If that's the case, then it has the same status in reality as the prophecies of Nostradamus: fit the predictions into ANY event and it can look accurate and amazing.

There is a cool site I would recommend, as a good start, called "All About The Truth", but is listed as allabouttruth . com and it has a /biblical prophecy place which many would say give many clear examples and makes it easy to tell the difference. The Bible and Nostradamus are not in even the same ballpark.
