My family have not been Texans for many generations but they have been Americans since before the Revolutionary War. I think of those who have served in wars and made sacrifices for our country every time I recite the pledge of allegiance. Your quotations were very informative. I hope you will be inspired to read biographies of our founding fathers in your quest to study how the ideal of justice for all guided them in the formation of our nation. I find them very inspiring.
