@HattieLovesCattie Swiss, you're right. Thank you. So far as I know she skates in the occasional show. I've sort of dropped out of the tv skating world.
@kamwrites Me too.I usually catch up on the skaters during the Olympics or the Worlds.I did manage to attend the US Nats in Greensboro,NC in Feb.What a treat that was.I only saw the mens final and thought the wrong man won. Many feel tho ( on the other end of the rink from where I was, behind the judges ).
@HattieLovesCattie I can't stand watching it these days, really. There are some skaters that stand out, but for the most part the routines look the same and are way too technical. I see what the younger kids in my rink are having to learn to be competitive, how they're pushed and I see the loss of finesse in favor of quick moves and HowManyPosesCanYouHit. I hate it.
@kamwrites I am sure the older skaters see it too, esp.when they took away the figures which most found boring.I am sure we will be seeing the skaters of this age having their hips and knees replaced years earlier than most older folks.
@HattieLovesCattie I always liked skating figures, but then I'm not a jumper. LOL! After having skated moves I can't even say that's a good replacement. They've put a few figures back in, but you don't have to exert that level of edge control that figures demands. They don't have to count in competition, but they should still be skated and tested, IMO. And YES, the injuries! I know skaters in their teens and 20's who already have the sort of trouble that retired skaters have. It's worrisome.
wow she is hot
