I love the comments here. Most of the criticism seems predicated on the idea that music can be replaced, that somehow tinkering with a song does some kind of damage to the original recording, and that music is something sacred which should remain untouched and perhaps be hung on a museum wall. I think it's fun - which I assume is the spirit in which it was intended. It makes Madonna herself sound weak and pissy, which is also a good thing. Her songs always sound better with big guitars - the British rock band Skin did an amazing cover of Express Yourself -it really rocks out, and sounds far better than the original. So come on Madonna, strap one on! (a guitar, I mean)

This is very interesting.. But at the same time I guess am a Madonna purist in the sense that I found her backing track for " Like A Virgin " just fine.. Than again I grew up listening to that version... And would have to say that LAV and Material Girl are very much Madonna's signature tunes.. However this took alot of work to do and I praise the editors...
