  • Three of the greatest

  • Amazing what video is this from. Can I get get it???

  • the nine people that hit dislike on this.. your momma aint got no titties..

  • El que pone un No Me Gusta Se la come!

  • Absolutely precious. Albert was squeezing out some serious mojo in that last chorus.

  • Of all the things in this life I'm grateful for...I'm most grateful that I was lucky enough to grow up in a time where legends like this existed. I'm afraid we'll never see this kind of passion again. :(

  • Awesome!!!

  • to the great blues players that are no longer with us we salute you

  • This was in Stevies drug periods, that's why he looks all warn out. Never the less he could play the guitar better than anyone! Did you know that Albert King turned an ordinary right handed guitar upside down and learned to play it that way? With the strings upside down...

  • @eliuhl Yes we know. That's why we came.

  • @eliuhl Yep, so did Jimi Hendrix (Although he also used left handers and right handers strung upside down too.). And on a flying V too! I LOVE Albert King man.

  • This isn't a competition. BB liked SRV and how he played. He said so on several interviews. Why do you think you see them together in so may videos. Some people should listen to the music on the video instead of the music in their own heads.

  • bluestormiv-if he isnt a bluesman why did these legens play with him?

  • notice how the 3 real bluesman on this stage are wearing suits and the other ain't no bluesman. he looks like some bum.

  • The world lost great talents when Freddie and Stevie Ray died. The world's music is just a little dimmer without them

  • Who's the harmonica player?

  • @amurican35 the late Paul Butterfield

  • Im 17 and I love the blues and the jazz, i love play jazz and blues songs!

  • Alberts sound really stands out

  • I consider myself mainly a rock and roll guy. I mean blues is definately what I look up to but I wouldn't say I'm premirely a blues player. After seeing this I'm thinking I might want to be. LOL.

  • De colección <3 Amazing !!

  • Im not born yet and i love the Blues.

  • Albert would play those same licks if he was playing Chopin.A great blues style but a poor guitar player

  • R.I.P. STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN...

  • WOW! AMAZING! HOW'D the BUTTER GET IN THERE???? Miss him like mad. Loved Butterfield the MOST, AND Albert too! This is early, that's the OLD Lucy! ANyone have a year on this? Kudos to finder. Killer time for music.

  • 240p....we meet again.

  • Who is this harmonica player? Holy crap.

  • @ItsCall911 Paul Butterfield of the Butterfield Blues Band. Pretty much gave Mike Bloomfield his start. Check out 'East-West' Better Days' LP, & 'The Reincarnation of Pigboy Crabshaw'. Songs like 'Born in Chicago' and 'I'm Drunk Again'. He could kick out the jams on harp.

  • @goteyes1 Thank you!

  • super!

  • OH SO HAPPY NOW . I LUV , LUV IT FEELING GOOD NOW.

  • totally awesome to see this after a few weeks ago being in nyc atr bb kings place puts me in tonight for this ty the blues lives on prima

  • 8 people suck at life and should just off themselves now

  • Will the harp player please exit the stage. Your services won't be needed.

  • @entity3sf... paul butterfield's services won't be needed?? are you serious? if anyone isn't needed it's bb king..he's a distant 3rd to albert king & stevie ray..

  • @skontch1 I agree, lets trade Justin Bieber Clay Aiken Adam Lambert Taylor Hicks and such for Albert and SRV and Rick Wright and Syd Barrett

  • @entity3sf your an idiot who don't know blues. the harmonica is the premier instrument associated with the blues.

  • I hear ya Camarorider. Endless hours of practice alone can't explain those one-in-a-generation guitarists' gift . There has to be something else at play. Something very rare, and beyond mere technical skill - an instinctive, innate "feel" for the inflection and timing of notes in the blues music genre.

Had a '67 Camaro a few years back, with the 327 V8. I liked the curved lines of that car, and the sound of her motor. She wasn't no poor man's "Vette though ha ha. She was the chit !

  • By all accounts, SRV, Clapton and John Mayer all went through phases of their lives in which they practiced guitar for endless hours over periods of time ranging from months to years, before they got to the stage when they could craft the muscial masterpieces they are all known for.

With that in mind I doubt whether "feeling the blues" , which is frequently cited as a major factor in becoming a virtuoso blues guitarist, could contribute anywhere near as much to mastery as does practice.

  • @riverbankfisher Then again, not everyone can feel the blues, and when they play it you can tell. They've got the technical skill but not the emotional skill to sell it. The virtuosoes are the ones who can really portray their own style of blues.

  • im 13 i love all genres, and i dont get why they all hate on each other, music is music

  • to think you could say you were there to see stevie-ray BB King and the Dozer what a show. Lucky crowd.

  • 4 masters at work.

  • hey i get 16 two weeks ago and i love this kind of musica actually i like all this music ,this and rock n roll, classic rock , jazz all that music and its really hard to find someone of my age to talk about this music

  • those were the moments !!!

  • these were the moments !!!

  • you young guns need to keep on bringing the blues alive!! change this worthless music scene thanks!

  • @jesusismybuddie dude....the blues will never die. let these other people my age get this club scene n shit goin for the next few years. it will die. but this....never ever ever will this ever go away.

  • @jesusismybuddie its been my goal, but i had to give up becuase these mindless ignorant kids are hopeless. im stuck in a generation of people with no taste....

  • @jesusismybuddie i'm not a young gun anymore, i am 58 and have been playing the harp for over 40 years since i first heard Paul Butterfield, but i am doing my part to keep the blues alive, and hope to form a new band here in wisconsin where i live so i can record a tribute album to some of blues' greatest legends, including elmore james, muddy waters, willie dixon, howlin wolf, t bone walker, and john lee hooker to name a few

  • @BLUESMANRONCHICAGO I would come over to Winsconsin to play with you in a jiffy if i could.

  • @jesusismybuddie Im trying! the other guy in my band wants me to play emo songs, i start of emo then convert it to blues then play a SRV solo! im 16 btw :P

  • 15 year olds UNITE IN THE POWER OF BLUES!

  • The New Blood.

  • I have 20 man...

    Blues will never die.

  • im only 2 and a half and i like the blues too!

  • @jogreeen My little cousin is only one year old and he has his first blues album. The first song is called "Please, Please, Won't Somebody Change My Diaper". The second song is real bluesy called, "My Bottle Done Fell Out the Crib, and I Feel Like I'm Gonna Die". He ends the album with a snappy 12 bar blues in E called "I've Seen Better Days when Mama Come Runnin when I Cry"

He's really gonna be somebody big someday. He's got a mobile with ukes and mandolins and banjos hangin above his crib.

  • how the stage didn't implode from the awesomeness of that is beyond me

  • dude you guys im 15 too and i love playin and listening to the blues

  • if you wanna sing the blues, you gotta pay yo dues.....

  • he looks like such a hobo haha. "the new blood, the new blood, the man who plays the guitar with the new blood"

  • woops got a lil carried away with the post button, sorry

  • SRV was definitely influenced by the greats. But his own unique style came from his life experiences. You can't play the blues like that without it coming from your heart and soul.

  • SRV's influence definitely came from the greats, but his unique style is all his own. You have had to live the life to feel the blues like SRV or any other. There's no other way to play than from your own heart and life experiences.

  • Is it just because of the poor quality of the picture, or is Albert King playing with a guitar that's strung for a right-hander? During his solo in the 2:00 area, it looks like he's bending the strings that SHOULD be the A and D, but I'm hearing high tones. Looks like he's bending down.

  • @beautifulsarah100 he's always played it upside down

that's how he did like 4-5 note bends

  • seriously, paul butterfield kills in this video i've got goose bumps every time he plays harp

  • I agree, SRV built his style on AK, U can hear that. But, man no one can rip into a guitar like SRV. Not even these stupid speed demons like vai and satriani and that stupid swedish dork

  • @SRVconor Albert isn't overlapping Stevie. Stevie is overlapping Albert. Albert is the King of blues. Stevie Ray was one of the greatest guitar players to ever live and one of my personal favorites. But without Albert King, Stevie's style would be different and he wouldnt have allot of the licks he used.

RIP Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughan

  • SRV always looked up to his influences even when he became famous. I read somewhere that there was a time when one of the Kings opened for stevie, and he became enraged that the king opened for him. Stevie's manager person had to make sure it never happened again.

stevie was in it for the music; people nowadays are in it for the money.

  • OMG! amazingggg

  • I'm having a total "bluesgasm" right now!

  • y paul butterfield????

  • "BB King, Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan- The Sky is Crying "???

-Should read "BB King, Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughan AND PAUL BUTTERFIELD- The Sky is Crying"

  • I like the reverence SRV gives to the Kings,he just hangs back and soaks it all in,wish i was on that stage that night it had to be the jam of a lifetime!

  • THERE YOU HAVE IT ROYALTY LIVE TONIGHT ON YOU TUBE

  • We playin' the Blues, but we sho' as hell ain't liviin-em no mo!

  • amazing talents all of them

  • hey everybody seems to forget to mention the great harmonica playing of Paul Butterfield of the butterfield blues band

  • albert king the best.

  • paul butterfield

  • IS THAT DELBERT PLYING THE HARP??

AND, DON'T BE TALKIN' BAD ABOUT STEVIE

HE WAS A MUSICAL GENIUS, GOD REST HIS SOUL

  • @bruster57 nope, it's the late great Paul Butterfield.

  • What year was this performance played? Thx

  • Is that Charlie Muselwhite playen the harp?

  • @Raven101able Paul Butterfield, I believe...

  • I had a Bluesgasm.

  • @Jessrama clean and sober aint no fun only the rich and famous die young die from misadventure. Living and not living to the fullest is no life at all but we all must suffer it and make it as pain free as possible, these guys had more fun and experience in the 10 odd minutes of this clip than some will in 100 years of living

  • wow, i just placed a number 2 my pants...

  • i love how SRV dress, it looks like a cool street guy

  • @evilkanival1423 I wish he would show his face more. Usually wearing a serious hat and/or looking down.

  • I keep searching for basic blues techniques on youtube, but damn... those guys were born with the blues, they didnt need this

  • @banhaz the blues is something you feel deep down in your soul. this feeling can be cultivated by embracing the great blues masters of the past and present. the music of the blues is the greatest gift you can give to yourself. the blues is the roots, the rest of the music is the fruits. thanks for lovin' the blues.

  • @a1zzzz what a great way of explaining the blues :) most of my friends are into drum n bass and music that tbh i dn't like :) nice to see there are blues fans still :D

  • my grandpa, Mike Vaughan's cosin is mr. Stevie Ray Vaughan and i love him so much R.I.P Stevie! =,)

  • Truly awesome!

  • As good as BB abd Albert King are, I liked Freddie King even better.

  • How could anyone not like this? Great job.

  • Epic The New Blood, The King of the Blues and the other King of the Blues really compliment each other well. B.B. with the vibrato and Albert with the bends, sends chills down my spine. O my god. Paul Butterfield is the white version of B.B. King. I would pass out if I was Stevie.

  • Paul has a badass voice

  • Awsome

  • 6 personas no saben lo que es música

  • ha ha, i love how the harp player keeps wanting to come in during the first 8 bars or so, and finally just gives up . . .

  • @Em1nenceFr0nt BTW, I would think Paul Butterfield knew when to Blo' that Mississippi Saxaphone

  • one of my favorite blues guitarist, Stevie Ray with legends BB King and Albert King, awesome! All 3 are my favorite.

  • @kirahna check out a couple of guys from chicago, the late son seals, and little ed williams,...you can never have too many favorite blues guitarists !

  • @a1zzzz thanks man for the tip! I will do that and check them out. Really appreciate it and yes, you're right! You can never have too many favorite blues guitarists. My dad was my favorite guitarist until he passed on and I found that listening to legends like BBKing and Albert with Stevie Ray Vaughan... helps me relived the memories of my dad and cherished these fine artists for sharing their talents and gifts with the world.

  • Too many blues guitarists at once.

  • @wberdan thats good tho

  • it is /////Its ...OH MY GOD .....Thank you for these ,beyond great ,musicians ...we will misss them dearly... thank god for this tape...

  • This is almost to much

  • This is video for history...

  • What an amazing video! I can't believe I've never seen this before. Four blues legends.

  • SRV must have been crapping himself to be able to play with his hero Albert King.

They make a fantastic combination. Too bad both died within two years of each other.

  • I was watching them on PBS , so i had to get up and get on my PC to find YouTube!!

  • i might be the only 15 year old who likes the blues and it sucks that i cant talk about it with anyone

  • @themanchild27 Oh, man. That's kind of sad. Intro. friends to it. Look for concerts. It sorta depends on where you live too. Keep up on it and when you're old enough, support any local blues clubs in your area or community radio stations. I'm kind of lucky and there are lots of them here in the South. Listen/learn all you can. Lotsa good stuff you can download on usenet (skip all the porn LOL). Maybe forums online? Music stores? Talk to older people, hippies, there. Teachers? Good luck.

  • @themanchild27 im 15 to man. im there for ya

  • @TheBluesboy15 thank you for being here in this troubbleing time hahaha

  • @themanchild27 i'm 15 too:) never stop loving blues

  • @themanchild27 i've been 15 yrs. old over three times...i'll talk blues with anyone, all the time. keep on lovin' the blues !

  • @themanchild27 Haha, know the feeling bud, I'm the only one in my area (maybe even country!) under the age of 18 to listen to the blues, and up until now I've mainly met blues-players that are over 40!

  • @MrSkAtEfReAk12 same dude it blows

  • @themanchild27 You're lucky. When I was 15 I was the best ball player in my neighborhood.I was also the best guitarist.

So I stuck with guitar.Been at it since 64. Go to G.E. PERRY on Facebook or you tube. I got back into senior ball. This year- .429

"Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with the smell of grass in my nose and the taste of clay in my mouth.I could pick up my guitar and play things most guitarist can only dream of,but all I want to do is throw a baseball to someone"

  • @themanchild27 my friend says that blues is gay! but totally disagree. i think its the best genre of music there is.

    BLUES POWER!

  • @themanchild27 thats 3 of us

  • @themanchild27 ur not alone bro im 15 and the only blues man in my skewl

  • @themanchild27 I'm 13 and love the blues.

  • @themanchild27 Keep the spirit alive... someday someone will want to for now just talk to the old guys. Learn and preach just like SRV

  • @themanchild27 im 13 dude :)

  • @themanchild27 you aren't the only one.

  • @themanchild27 That's what the internet is for, pal. Hook up with like minds when you can't find any locally!

  • @themanchild27 Im 1 and a half.

  • Do you hear want i hear, they all can play!

  • Amazing....simply art in form...does it get any better than this? Too bad some of the greats are gone...Stevie and Paul...hard to fathom..it was 23 years ago? Damn...time flies....

  • Amazing....simply art in form...does it get any better than this?

  • Esse é o som....

  • interesting ... he has strings upside down on that V :)

  • awesome stuff. amazing. (around 2 minutes the music starts to chase the video)

  • holy fuck this is amazing!

  • Holy Shit!!!!.....!!!!

3 of the most badass bluesmen ever- and damned if they didn't bring their A game on this one. And who's the guy on harp here?

    Instant bookmark status!

  • @PaulMountainSageBear The Late Great Paul Butterfield. RIP Paul Butterfield

  • talk about some cool talent... there's the master rite there with 3 of his proteges... walking on down the street... in Memphis.... there's nothin like that sound....

  • BB King, Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughn.... need I say more!

  • Awesome. I am stoked by this. Thanks for posting.

  • That IS a very nice "V" that Albert is playing!

To quote a lyric that Albert sang on an album he put out in 1977: "I've been playing since 1955 and I can tell ya... The Blues don't change!"

    He jammed with Jimi...enough said.

  • It's just a shame we'll never see this happen again. R.I.P SRV and Albert King. Among legends.

  • that was fkn amazing......bb is no slouch, but he was out of his league being up there with the other 3 legends...

  • It's as if the three guitars were conversating with each other..

  • Hear it and weap - BB

  • not only the sky even the guitar is crying !!

  • Uncle Albert showing how it should be done.

  • Is that Rod Piazza on harp and vox?

  • Who is that playing the harp?

  • @jenniferjuniper97 That is the late Paul Butterfield on Harmonica. His band called the Butterfield Blues Band played at the original Woodstock in 1969

  • Does anyone else think...... Albert King is great and played a great part in the build up of SRV's style.... but just wish he would stop play with he weedy tone and overlapping srv.....

  • @SRVconor weedy tone! are you listening to the same song as me? :)

  • @SRVconor I personally really like Albert's tone.

  • @SRVconor you should look into the cd/dvd Albert King with Stevie ray Vaughn "In Session" if you havent. Your spot on with that observation and the booklet that comes with it goes into detail about how correct you are. Also, it's fucking amazing.
