  • They are one of the Famous in that Era

  • GANDA NG LIPS NI MARLENE DAUDEN.

  • They were all natural beauty, no Dr. Bello yet. Now notice that most actors and actresses are almost look alike.

  • i wish i was born that time

  • I think someone commented about the looks and hair of the actors before. All I can say is, that was the trend of that era. The industry really emphasised the hispanic looks but that doesn't mean the native looking and oriental looking were ugly. It's just that the Spanish influence in terms of beauty were still great. If you are complaining about the hair style, I hope you realised, there were no anime hairstyle before. I hope you'd agree with me that all these actors are real and rare talent!

  • When u think of Gloria luis gonzales will always come to mind.. Same goes with nida blanca. They were the ultimate love teams in the late 40's and early 50's

  • Where on earth is my lola??

    Naty Cruz!!

  • thanks! for sharing ...

  • wow c Eddie garcia ang gwapo since bata pa ung age niya..ahahah!!!

  • The actors and actresses before are way beautiful and better than today's: Kim Chiu, Marian Rivera, Kris Aquino etc....I dunno but the REAL Philippine cinema is now really in declined. We can only see them through indie films.

  • WOW!! WHAT A COLLECTIONS... VERY NOSTALGIC ... i LIKE IT ... :)

  • This really sounds good with the original music accompaniment by Frank Sinatra "The Way You Look Tonight" why did Youtube change it???

  • I think I saw a Clark gable and an Audrey Hepburn there, among others...Hollywood influence...lol!

  • Todays actors and actresses of the Philippines are nothing but sex symbols or sex objects, they dont even know hot to act or play, shame on them,I like the movies of the 50s and 60s ,moremeaningful and fun to watch.

  • Where is the beautiful Maggie De La Riva???

  • this is called real people...real entertainer...just look at the pictures...photoshop FREE

  • super gwapo n willie soleto anong age n nya kya buhay p kya sya

  • very nostalgic...those were the days of real cinema..natural beauty...classic..timeless!

  • Nice photos, wala pang Vicky Belo that time, totoong mga beauties sila. Thanks for sharing

  • these is what real filipinos look like.

  • di hamak na mas magaganda at gwapo sila kumpara sa mga artista natin ngaun kasi noon di pa uso ang mga whitening products, cosmetic surgery & retoke. isa pa they are really talented people unlike now wherein some of the actors now just hold on to their mestizo status just to gain entry into showbiz

  • ang ganda nito... sarap panoorin... We were having beautiful filipina and Handsome filipinos... even now... beautiful and handsome din meron tayo

  • the actors in the day are very good and they don't over react when they act compared to seasoned so called actors today in the philippines. They have unusual talent and i'm always a big fan of their movies.

  • Brings back memories. In the early 70's my grandfather likes to wear the traditional attire from his younger days in the 30's with matching hat and always has pomade in his hair. He carry himself like his idol Fred Montilla. He has lots of friends and wave like a politician wherever we go. Images here reminds me of him.

  • Look at those pics, profile shots are really, really good. . . .These days photos and people in paricular, were made to look good via digital cameras and photoshop. That was really a golden era.

  • the true beauty of the Filipinos

at that time plastic surgeries where still not yet in the zone hehe

  • gaganda ng actress natin noon,,wlang daya wlang retouch..natural beauty ika nga,,not now,,for me no1 sa kin c edna luna,,at amalia fuentes

  • ahhhh...those were the days that actors/actress were very professional and dedicated to their craft.

  • Thanks for sharing, they were all beautiful.. and true talented people, unlike now,,, I don't like new stars, walang talent..

  • thanks for sharing. they're so much more beautiful than the actors now. no plastic surgeries then. they all look good.

  • Oh, I almost forgot. I didn't see a photo of Nida Blanca, Rosemarie Sonora, Rosa Rosal, Ricky Belmonte, Lotis Key, Jose Mari Gonzales, and Rosemarie Gil just a few I can remember. Thanks for sharing this beautiful collection of yours!

  • WOW indeed! Classic beauties. I'm 37 years old. I know most of them from watching black & white movies when I was a kid. Some of those photos I've seen from my 74 year old mom's collections she once had up until the flash flood 4 months ago. Where can I get copies of your collections?

  • @TheCarinaNebula hahha yeah. i actually love watching the sampaguita pictures on channel 9 when I was elementary and high school and I am 31 yrs old now.

  • @bituin i enjoyed watching lvn and sampaguita films in the late70s sa chanel 7 after ng student canteen.

  • Willie Sotelo at 3:09 was WAY HOTTER than Willie of Wowowee. Haha!

  • wow

  • that willie sotelo guy is hot

  • add more: jaime fabregas, dante rivero, dolphy, panchito, babalu, ramon revilla

  • very nice video. it's so nice to see the actors and actresses way back then. My favorite is susan roces, she's so pretty up to now. Thanks for sharing lamanilena. I agree with sathiel, u sould have included, charito, nida, eddie and jose marie. very nice music too i like it!

  • how many of these beautiful people are still around? sana buhay ang marami sa kanila. i miss them, the old movies at yung pagbili ng ticket sa takilya.

  • This are the true faces of actors, the golden age of that time.

The men are men and the ladies are ladies.

    Today, Phillippines movies kinda sucks.

  • mas glamorouso talaga noon..dba c juancho guiterez ay husband n Ms.Gloria Romero..

  • idagdag niyo sina ronaldo valdez, jimmy fabregas, dante rivero, dolphy, panchito, eddie guttierez, paquito diaz, romy diaz, max alvarado subas herrero

  • They are the philippine cinema pioneers. The legends who made the business industry. Im not that old to appreciate their talent and work. Channel 9 use to do reruns of their movies back in the 80s. Nasaan na kaya ang marami sa kanila

  • Wow !

  • Timeless...

  • guapo ni tito & willie! nice

& the women are gorgeous, too. classy

  • This is so beautiful. Sila'y tayo. Ang pinakamagandang panahong lumipas. A part of our National Treasure indeed!!!

  • Too bad the entertainment industry went down. We still have talented actors in the Philippines, but it wasn't like before. Now the most popular actors in the Philippines are people like Kim Chui, Sam Milby, ect... who doesn't have talent at all and only get by with their looks so I feel so ashamed. Not to mention, the Philippines lost its originality when it comes to both music and movies. But, I plan on restoring the Philippine's entertainment industry!

  • i agree...Sanjo Marudo, Sam Concepcion, Kim Chiu, etc... SUCK a big big time...i can't believe people admire them...nabobo n b ang mga Pinoy at hnd n alam kung anu ang mgling at hnd...pati s music...modern day music is a big crap, i mean, TRASH!

sana mbalik ang GOLDEN ERA ng Philippine Music and Cinema industry...mas mgnda noon nung very Hispanic ang hitsura ng mga Pinoy...very classy and napasosyal

  • @erikamarch1993 wow your a producer?

They belong on the same era. But this is good compilation.

  • This is really nice!!!

  • we had so many talented and beautiful stars way back then...

  • Why isn't more of an effort in the Philippines to preserve their calssic film like they do in the U.S. Why don't the actors of days gone by demand this?

They really were above reproach.

  • this is the kind of images in glamour photography i want to learn and develop...from the real golden and fabulous years of philippine cinema...sooo ethereal.

  • wow, i also keep a copy of those pictures from old old magazines of those days.

  • i do the same too... beacuse my gradma give me her old magazines like times a,newsweek and many more. its a very pleasure and rare having a material from the past its just very beautiful to have one and to knoe ehat have happen during their time 1930's up tp 1970's era.

  • if you have those old magazines please digitalized those pictures and upload in your own website. that would be very interesting don't you think so.

if you do, please let me know the site and i'll be visiting it.

    thank you.

  • their hairstyles make them look not filipino at all to me...they almost look spanish and in some cases caucasion.

  • Ninety percent of Actress and Actors at that time period are mostly mestiza and mestizo.

That's the trend of the generation, they gave to much emphasis on the beauty of face and body.

  • I agree...... thats how wonderful Filipinos are bfore. ang gwapo at maganda sila.....

  • alright!

  • this is a nice video ! you did a great job........ filipinos b4 are more sophisticated then ever today im proud to be a filipino! the past is very well appriciated than now. i can say mas maganda talaga noon ang lahat kaysa ngayon nasa modernong panahon nga tayo pro parang hindi na maganda at natural ang buhay!

  • Wow.... I Wish Ganito parin ang mga pinoy ngayon....

Naging Golden age noon kasi Lahat professionals at hindi binabasta basta lahat nang bagay sa films pero ngayon pati mga directors and staffs nang mga shows halos di nakatapos nang tamang kurso for the job...

Im not saying all but many....

Pero Tama ang sinabi ni rizal na kabataan ang pagasa nang bayan and i see a lot of Intelligent Filipinos now that can bring us to the top again....

  • Our rise from the ashes of the past 50 years have already started with Arnel, Charice and Manny, wont be long now before we gain our notoriety and sophistication back like during Spanish and American time.

We won't be called the "Pearl of the Orient Seas" if the spanish and american did not see and developed that potential during thier stay here, just too bad that we have to endure the last 50-60 years in the backburner instead of leading Asia as we did before.

  • woww!! nuon pa lang mga gaganda't gwapo ang mga artista! kaya proud to be pinoy ako..lol
