@GG8520GG You've just said how. The Playstation STEREO Headseat is a Stereo headset and cannot have real 7.1 surround sound. It can only simulate it. The AX Pro is REAL 5.1 surround as it has 4 speakers in each cup. And even if it is only 5.1 at least it's real and not an emulation.

Ahhhhhhhhh i cant get my Tritton AX720 headset to do surround sound on my PC...works fine on my PS3 but not my PC ...im flipping out for like 3 weeks now trying to figure it out...anyone who knows anything let me know please...ive tried , hardware and sound, sound configuration and it only says stereo and no 5.1 but with my normal speakers it gives me the 5.1 and 7.1 options....PLEASE HELP!!!

@VSUZUKIV you have to use a triple audio splitter on the green, black, and orange audio jacks as seen at 1:15 or just use the black audio jack by its self. I had been searching around for the answer to this myself and bought them. They are a really good long term investment if you take care of them, and are well worth the money. : )

there are various wires for this headset, power lines, goto headset inline wire, and to decoder box, the decoder box then wires to the headset inline cable, the cable ends up at the control box, then for xbox it splits with another cable from the control box to the xbox headset output via the puk style connector, the control box also powers the headsets drivers,

the ax pro is fully wired, but you dont feel tetherd down, this one has very good audio compared to wirless

I would not recommend these to anyone, while the phones are nice, the microphone and actual headset are made with sub-par plastic parts which break in normal usage. I like the headphones, but they are definitely not reliable.

you have to connect to plugs (USB + optical). USB for the micro connection and optical for the game sound. This cables are connected to a box (the great dolby black box LOL) and there you plug in the Headset (1 cable). The Headset and the Box are both connected to an external power subly. The optical out is about 50cm, the USB about 60cm I think. The cable from the HS is about 4m.

You have to change your settings at the PS3 menue from e.g. HDMI to optical out for gamesound.
