I cringed at the first two singers, their voices did not match the music. I liked the third voice but I suspect she wasn't a dancer.

Fewer dancers would have been better and I don't think the opening number should have been a Britney Spears production with movements better suited to "sex presented pastorally."

I am shocked to see some of these comments about this being amazing, and one of the best schools for performing arts, ect. No, its not terrible, however, my school wouldn't even present this quality to an audience. The leading players' blend is terrible and there is way too much alto. the number is very low engergy and should be much more exciting. the dancing is weak and sloppy. it should be much tighter, especially if you chose to do a fosse show. and theres some more..except i ran out of room

@OfAquitaine Is it because you were in a high school that you couldn't change the lyrics? Because I'm in a production (not of Pippin) and we sang this song while changing "Sex presented pastorally" to "love presented pastorally." Of course it was outside of the school district, since it was self-funded, but it was still 4-12 graders.

@TheLastBurtonFan well first of all you're not actually supposed to change lyrics. and second of all we just didn't want to. the lyric is sex so we kept it that way.

I must applaud the choreographer for keeping with Fosse's style so well. Though I just have to ask...were there really three lead players in this production?

Yup. The three of them divided up all of the lines and lyrics among themselves. It actually proved to be quite entertaining.

I really believed what you guys were doing and it was great to see a different version of the leading player(s). I think the only thing you could work on was blending the voices of the leading players and the intonation overall. The dancing and character were great though.

i'm a pretty harsh judge of high school theatre, cause i'm a snob. but i have to say i am really impressed. i think you guys did an amazing job. the overall concept and execution were great!

For a high school this is a good production! But actually it has a Fosse feel but is not actual Fosse style. But to get young people do get close to the style is a feat that deserves a lot of credit. And before anyone tells me to study my dancing I am a professional choreographer and performer with the credits to prove it.

I'm not gonna lie... I really like this take on it and am very surprised that this is a high school production. I'm very much a Pippin fan and usually don't like it when people stray too far from the original, but I was really impressed with this. I might have to steal a little from it. Kudos to you all.

umm actually it is bob fosse some of the original so maybe go study your dancing. and the leading players are the three top singers in the company and each won various scholarships....but yes they are better as soloists.

I'm pretty sure its some public school down in utah. One of the best high schools in the state for the performing arts, from what I've heard. And from what I've seen them do on youtube, it would be easy to agree!
