@vidioseeker Sanji's & Luffy;s techs are short range, powerfull blows. Zoro's "Phoenix of 108 Desires" is a long range energy blast. He increases the precision and the concetration of energy by closing in.

(I know that Zoro's tech is called "108 Pound Cannon", but I prefer this translation ;p )

@lordiofdeath actualy, according to the writer, its part illusion, part extension of his spirit. Think of it like a form of immature haki. it may be illusion, but still hits as hard as a real sword.

A proof of this would be that it worked against a Pacifista. if it were only a illusion, it wouldn't effect a full machine, since illusions wouldn't fool one. And when it struck, every single 'illusional' sword was shown to cut away flecks of metal.
