My guess is the sexual abuse that Billy Preston went through as a child resulted in his sexual orientation. I don't see how else he could be homosexual if he wasn't abused. a truly unsung music great.. the documentary, though, does not make him justice; weakly done, rushed, lacking even of good music samples. the background music used at times is dreadful...on the other hand, at least the documentary exists to give exposure to this sadly forgotten legend.

Ive seen all the Unsung's but THIS has got to be the saddest one I have ever seen. I am a child of the seventies who grew up playing organ in church and idolizing this man. Ironically I played several times at the very church he grew up in. I never knew the extent of his pain. Billy Preston - I heard of him , and his music, but the first time - I belive I saw him, was on the Midnight Special, singing that incrediable song "Will He Go round in Circules." The words are funny and the beat makes you want to dance . As he put it , "he was going to let the music move him around." Just a great performer. Bless you MR. PRESTON, for what you did for music.!

a truly unsung music great.. the documentary, though, does not make him justice; weakly done, rushed, lacking even of good music samples. the background music used at times is dreadful...on the other hand, at least the documentary exists to give exposure to this sadly forgotten legend.

Ive seen all the Unsung's but THIS has got to be the saddest one I have ever seen. I am a child of the seventies who grew up playing organ in church and idolizing this man. Ironically I played several times at the very church he grew up in. I never knew the extent of his pain. They never say in this piece who it was that violated him and anything ever happened to that person. I remember hearing rumored names and rumors about it. Anyway rest is peace Billy Preston. A true gift to humanity.

I grew up listening to Billy, both as a session musician and a solo act. He was one of the greats, who deserves a slot in the RRHOF. I miss him alot. Rip Billy, and hope you and George Harrison are rocking again in the Rock heavens.

Billy Preston - I heard of him , and his music, but the first time - I belive I saw him, was on the Midnight Special, singing that incrediable song "Will He Go round in Circules." The words are funny and the beat makes you want to dance . As he put it , "he was going to let the music move him around." Just a great performer. Bless you MR. PRESTON, for what you did for music.!
