@SpkPlugg I agree brother, I am good friends of cherokee in Qualla Boundary. And the people there know it is up to them to use their rsources to the benefit of the tribe which apparently they are doing a very good job.

Get real. If the elders are living this way, it's because they wish not to move into elderly housing provided for the elders. In the Muscogee Creek Nation, they've built beautiful new 2 bed apts for our elders, and are building more. You can't tell me the Cherokee hasn't done the same. I think the poster is ill informed.

Each Cherokee nation gets an average of 1,500 per citizen, whether they are living in or out of the nation. This is money from the federal government, our tax dollars at work for a total of 300 million. Only 20 percent of the citizens receive any help and you have to be in extreme poverty. This money is funneled into casinos and bankrupt corporations. Not to mention Chad's pocket.

All taxpayers and citizens should be angry!!

yes we need to do something about this. I am almost half cherokee, but you'd never know it from just looking at me. I have seen this first hand in oklahoma, and strongly dissaprove of all of the new casinos. They are crapping up our land and not helping anyone other than chad smith.

this is a powerful and great mssg..i live in oklahoma and am cherokee...most of my imideate family lives this way..till this day..my grandmother who is 65yrs old..i go to the local well to bring her water..her home is un liveable and has been established condemed..but she has no other home and is a proud woman and will not leave where she has been raised..but we can get no help from cherokee nation..all there paper work and it is nothing but a wild goose chase sending us here and there..
