Lucy's life was very bad. Of this there is no doubt. But she still killed a whole lot of totaly innocent people. Nyu, with no memory of the past, is a pure innocent, which is something that Lucy only wishes she could be.

She wouldn't have ever killed ANYONE if when she was 10, the boys at her school hadn't KILLED the dog she found. Like she said, the kids there were miserable, and needed someone to be more miserable than themselves. Even the girl who had acted nice to Lucy BETRAYED her by telling the boys about the dog. You know they only beat it to death because they wanted to see her cry cuz they said it was weird that she never laughed or cried.

And it wasn't a school that she was at(it's a child welfare facility), and she wouldn't have been able to kill them if she didn't have vectors to kill them in the first place.

They were terrible children, and they gave her the impression that all humans were terrible as well.

The way I look at it, she has 3 personalities: Nyuu, who is completely innocent and naive, Lucy, who is sadistic and cold, and the way Lucy was before she started killing. I call that one Kaede, since if you read the manga, that's her real name. I have to admit, there are some people, like Kanae, Kouta's dad, and the people at the carnival, who she had no real reason to kill. She just thought that Yuka was Kouta's girlfriend and snapped. But people NEED to stop calling her a bitch and a psycho!
