I know about 'ramming' But i have two females and one attacks the other, nipping and chasing her. Isn't that normal? If someone could comment that would be much appreciated!!
how much is a pair, cause yours have really good color and good genes unlike ours that has very light colors, and no long mohawk like yours, i think its have the adult size maybe 2 inch
I know they may prefer alkalaine PH, but I'm going to keep them in a tank with tetras and glofiish and a female beta, and all of these prefer lower acidic PH. Can I keep the PH at 7??
Thank you all for the compliments about my rams. Yes, I still breed them. I would really like to sell you guys some of these beauties. I just don't know how to send them oversee. :|
They are community fishes and they are not aggressive towards other fishes.
Really nice. I have just up sized from a 110Ltr to a 178 Ltr tank. Have some Rams in there, Kribensis, Cardinals and Guppys, Mollys, Harlequins, Swordtails and Pleco and Corys. I love Rams, think they are amazing. I have sand substrate with live plants, wood, some blue stone and live cave like places for hiding.
@theprankster5000 They are actually very easy to take care of...as long as you have a heater and a ph/nitrate/nitrite test kit. German blues require a lower ph, 5 idealy but can adapt to 6-7, any higher and their immune systems are weakended. Also, they are very sensitive to nirtates and nitrites, they need to be in a tank with 0 of either.
Just a quick question - are these fish okay to keep in a ten gallon? Because I've looked around the net, and some say yes, and some say no, so I'm a bit confused...
How hard are they to keep alive ? I bought a pair from this guy that didnt know what kind of fish they were and what to do with them and I have them in my 100 gallon now but everyone is telling me " good luck on keeping them alive" , not because I of me but because they say they are extremely difficult to care for. Can you please shine some light on their care so that I am able to give them the best possible life, thanks ! Very beautiful fish you have there
@BigBruiser76 My experience is that tiger barbs and rosy barbs are too nippy to be kept with blue rams. However if you have a large enough tank, and enough barbs to keep their fighting to themselves it might work.
@rdlee1000 Im not 2 sure dude I have 1 thats really peaceful with all types of fish but really dude angels dont mix very well I had a problem with my ram killing the shit out of the angel but he's very friendly with all of my other fish 4 some reason
I have a very simple setup. Just provide some hiding place. Feed them various dry food, not just blood worm. Yes, my rams will be more colourful when they get older.
hey richard..1 question...i have 4 of them...and well now i know i have 3 females and 1 male..cuz he is bigger than the other 3 which are like the same size...but (all i wanna know is..the male fins havent grown out nice like urs,...but i see one of the smaller ones..a female i think fins growing out pretty long...so i dont know its maturing into a male?)....urs are very nice btw
wow... my GBR's aren't nearly as pretty. They don't have that really long line of fin on the very front of the dorsal fin and there pectoral fin doesn't curve like that either.. do you sell when you breed? I live in Miami..
Ugh. I wish mine weren't so aggressive
