We recently aquired some wood for our museums steam engine, and some guys split it with a large axe.....well they actually did the job, but it took a whole day and in the end......the axe was broken and needed repairs.
Even the worst oldest crap splitter would have made that some easy 2 hours
This is what a logsplitter should be. use a tractor hydraulic system for power, not a chintzy underpowered gas engine.
