I have a MacBook Pro & KRK R6 Studio Monitors, will the M-Audio Firewire 1814 connect these together, as well as allow me to record vocals using a studio mic? x.
@zkagtrendy hello friend, no problems on asking when we dont know something: well rthis is a external soud card. is one apparatus needed for professional recordings, as the onboard computer soundcard (wich cames inside every new computer) cannot handle a recording session properly, because the onboard sound chips are so slow doing their math...so this external device, hooked up to a desktop computer later, can hadle up to 18 channels, or different instruments being recorded all same time.
Hi Andrecarioni, Thanks for uploading the video. I just have a quick question.
I am using the same sound card from M Audio but connected to a dell vostro 1500 laptop which is fairly equipped with 2 gigs of ram.
When I start recording using any software such as Music creator or Ableton , after a few seconds I start getting a beeping sound into the input and it stops the recording .. Any thoughts ??
@hnsrikanth probably the issue is your hardware. i am almost sure. 90% sure. for a proper recording and playing with this firewire soundcard, you need a firewire connection. this firewire MUST BE CONTROLLED BY A TEXXAS-INSTRUMENT brand makers of fine controllers chips. probably your controller is VIA, NEC or even SIS brand, wich is garbage for audio domain, understand? in other words: you need another card firewire adapter, TExAS chip.
would that work on a DELL Dimension 8110 desktop Celeron 80g hard drive 512mb of ram 2.53ghz. I'm plannign to buy an external hard drive like 500g or 760g
lol but no! the video was accelerated, thus the audio embedded in the video also pitched up. the song is "peter tosh - peace treaty", amazing song btw.
Are you Brazilian? As the box is written: Revenue, Ministry of Finance

This is a better sound-card for PC or MAC.
For small studios or portable recording stations, this soundcard is one of the options.
hope it helps.

dale, man, two things:
celeron is NOT the processor for audio editing (just change your processor to a pentium 4)
and
512 mega ram is NOTHING for audio editing.
upgrade it to 2 gig
