How can you test 'Apple's Itunes' on a VAIO and compare it to a MAC, test something that is not made by either of them, then it will be fair. Apple's software and programs are made to run at high-speed on their computers and vice versa with the VAIO.
I bought an IMAC, and Sony desktop 2 years ago. I used the Sony alot for video, and photo's, I used the IMAC for video, and photo's also. Now, I used my sony more, then I would use the IMAC . IMAC, dosen't boot up anymore, and my Sony just keeps on going. I'll never buy an apple computer again. It never should of peterout in just a couple of years.
So does Mac. ALL computers get viruses. It's just a matter of what security software you get. It also depends what websites you visit because PCs do not acquire viruses just like that. But if you want to complain, the Internet is no place for it. On a final note, why are people comparing a Sony Vaio, it does not perform well anyway. It's just for simple everyday tasks. These days people need to compare to what's best to the best value.

@policeboy0 i have used both mac and pc. and pc's are generally better for games, especially the choices and the price for the system. But when im editing on final cut or after effects i find macs working better. i find it a lot smoother. garage band is for music too just saying. and when i work with music i use soundtrack pro. look all im saying is it depends on how much you are willing to spend and what you are trying to get out of it.
@moviepreviews21 Well. I am a professional Video editor and if you are serious about editing, rendering or graphic design the mac is trash. Not only the hardware isnt sufficient but also most of the real professional software runs way worse on a mac. Thats als the reason why no big studios use macs. There is not even a decent CAD card for the macpro, which's hardware is outdated anyways. No professional would ever use mac. Sorry that editing thing is a myth apple created through advertising.
@moviepreviews21 Big studios use Linuy server for rendering (mostly from HP) and workstation (custome made mostly but also drom HP and Dell), which are used for editing, animating, graphic design etc. Softwarewise WIndows and Linux are more open 8also for custom made software), it supports technologies like CUDA way better, they also support more professional Software. And also the thats available for Windows/Linuy workstation is far more powerful. f.e there is no Nvidia Quadro 6000 for the mac.

@DerSchachspieler that would be the video exporting, or encoding that would cause the look. And im sure you cant tell which movies are made on final cut compared to avid or media 100. No matter what, its a fact that macs run better on these applications, Final Cut studio, or after effects. Macs just work better on that stuff. Now if you are on pc there are a lot of other applications that you can download that may be cheaper, but may not suit what you want to accomplish.
@moviepreviews21 Thats why the only movie that has been edited on a mac was Eat.pray.Love and only a minor part of editing was made on a mac. It is a marketing lie dude, I have been to pretty much all big studios. After Affect and other Adobe programms as well as Auto Desks software and Avid are for available for Windows and run smoother on it. There are not even proper CAD cards available for mac. Its a myth Apple created dude get over it.

And I am a professional editor and also work for big studios in hollywood, so I guess I know what we use for work and there is no mac anywere. And as far as music producers go I know that a lot of them are paid by apple for product placement f.e Swedish House Mafia, Armin van Burren. Soulja Boy... but thats a well known thing anyways.

In the long run macs will last longer. i just switched from a 1 gb ram imac a few days ago. My old computer still out performed other pc s with 2 gb ram and a larger processor. i dont know what studios would have pc's over mac when editing video, aftereffects.

@moviepreviews21 You are talking about video editing and used 1 GB of RAM??? Even my laptop that i dont use for editing has 8GB and my workstation has 96GB 1333MHZ DDRIII RAM. A Macpro doesnt even support that much (max at 64GB), And at some studios i worked on workstations that had 192 GB RAM DDR3, thats 3x more than the maximum of the macpro. I know this is old but the test is done BY A MAC MAGAZIN and Snow Leopard still looses as always. And now imagine After Affects CS5.5 (which is even more fine tuned for windows 7) running on a powerful computer than a mac. The mac would get totally destroyed.And also keep in mind that some features are missing on the Mac version of the programm.(call adobe 4 proof)

Only once in a year a tiny part of the editing of less demanding editing is done on a mac f.e Eat.Pray.Love,you could have edited that in movie maker or Sony Vegas, no big deal, no animations etc.Avatar f.e is entirely done on Pc workstations wayyy to demanding for mac and also the software and hw used isnt for mac.

I checked out your channel too, you dont have any videos, i guess if all you do is make a channel and post comments, pc's are great. I know my rendering is cheap on my videos, i do them for fun, plus i was running on a 2006 imac with 1gb of ram, and after effects 7, there isnt anyway i could have gotten super good quality. im working on a video now that is less sketchy.

@moviepreviews21 I ONLY EDIT MOVIES I DO NOT OWN THEM, A (professional cinema) MOVIE ISNT CREATED BY ONE PERSON. And it even says in my contract that I am not allowed to share, distribute or use the material I receive for anything else than working on it. Adobe and also Autodesk and others said many times that their products are tuned for the PC and run better on Winows. I even sent you a link with a benchmark that was done by a MACFORUM and they admitted AE runs better on Windows by far.
@DerSchachspieler If i were running a company that deals mostly with animation, i probably would use pc too, just because they are cheaper and you can get a good computer for a decent price so you could buy more of them which you need while rendering animation. If you can run your whole project from 1 computer mac is a better choice even for the price. i'm not an apple fanboy, from my experience apple has performed better.
@DerSchachspieler from my experience when mac upgraded from leopard to snow leopard, AE5 improved tremendously, i dont know much about it before then. But like i said, all im basing it off of is a smaller scale 1 computer job, not like creating avatar which i know took a lot more then 1 computer.
@moviepreviews21 I never said that macs are not sufficent for privat/home use although somehow the movies efited in iMovie and FinalCut somehow look cheaply done. Still the mac is NOT better. As i said: CUDA is very important for animation etc, and macs doent support it as good and only old and bad CAD cards are availabe. f.e ther is no Nvidia Quadro 6000 available for the mac and overall the hardware is not up to date.

@moviepreviews21 I even sent you the links for the benchmarks. Also similar spect PCs are cheaper so you can upgrade the hardware and then the PC will be even more superior. So with the rest of the money you could upgrade your CPU,RAM or software to the Adobe Production Premium Suite with a CAD card for CUDA. And then the PC will be a lot faster than the mac exspecially if the last of the three possibilities is chosen. (Production Premium Suite + CUDA Card but thats also depends on RAM and CPU).
@DerSchachspieler sometimes also depends on the operating system. for example mac tiger and windows vista. tiger with 1 gb of ram still works better then 2gb windows with vista in my opinion.
@moviepreviews21 No I dont think that it runs better but what MacOSX does is using virtual memory, (It uses part of the HDD as "RAM"). You can enable that in Windows too, so there shouldnt be any difference in my opinion. And when I said it depends on RAM and CPU if you should put a CAD card in your PC this was part of the comment below where i listed the different options you have to use the money you save buying a PC to upgrade it.
@moviepreviews21 As far as video editing,... is concerned.Snow Leopard was worse than windows vista for editing etc. The OS plays an important role also. 1.) Adobe, Autodesk etc. programms are fine tuned for Win so they will work better on Win 2.) The OS has to support the best hardware available and Win/Linux does that, mac OS doesnt 3,) The OS should support features like CUDA etc. which Win/Linux does. Mac OSX supports it but it has lots of flaws and there are no good CAD cards available.

@moviepreviews21 Ok that just proofed that you have no idea what you are talking about. You know what RAM is and what it is used for??? The CPU has a Cache, which is much faster "RAM" but this Cache is very small and full "immediately". The Data that you need (programms/files etc.) from the SSD or HDD is stored in the RAM. The data goes from the RAM via FSB to the Cache and the CPU processes it. So to speed up the whole process you need lots of RAM to edit huge files.
@moviepreviews21 Fe. lets say you got a movie thats over 60GB. You put it in you editing programm. Now if you got sufficient RAM. Everything is in the RAM and can be processed much faster. If you dont have sufficient RAM the data is taken from the SSD/HDD which slows down the entire process a lot. Note: This is just a simplified explanation.
@DerSchachspieler alright, still has to do largely with the size of your processor, Mac still runs perfectly fast using full hd gb per minute clips on 16 gb of ram. I've never messed with a file 60gb but i cant really imagen why it would take more ram to render or export compared to a 3gb 3 minute clip.
@moviepreviews21 Of course the processor plays a very important role but also RAM is very important since while ediitng the whole movie is in the RAM and the effects everything you add to your movie is also added to the RAM. And the preview you see while ediitng is also "saved" on the RAM. This ensures that everything runs fast and fluent. So if you have a a 60 GB file you need lots of RAM so everything runs fluently. Not having sufficient RAM slows everything down.
@DerSchachspieler yes i know but after effects or whatever you are running it on isnt going to render the whole video at once it goes as you go, so wouldnt it take the same amount of ram to render out a 3gb 3 minute video, as a 60gb 60 minute one.
unless you are in 4k or whatever then that would make more sense to me..

@moviepreviews21 I am referring to After Effects because you mentioned it. I use a variety of Software. Mostly software like Premiere Pro, which is a "real" editing programm. After Effects is usually used to add visual effects etc.. After Effects got some editing features but it usually isnt used for editing.
@moviepreviews21 As you may know the preview of the movie in After Effect is played from the RAM too. What you can do is setting a certain amount of memory of the HDD to virtual memory, So space of the HDD operates as "RAM". But of course this doesnt replace "real RAM" but it does help to increse the performance. Most people dont configurate that feature properly in Win and that led to the misbelief that macs need less RAM but they dont. Macs just have the virtual memory preconfigured.
@moviepreviews21 It would take longer to render or export a file because the everything during the editing process is "saved" on the RAM and when you render or export a file it the data is taken from the RAM. Which is faster than the SSD/HDD. but you are right the most important part during the export of a file or rendering process plays the CPU. Note: This is also a simplified explanation.
@moviepreviews21 Just to clarify: Lets say you got a workstation with 3GB RAM and one with 96GB RAM and you want to export or render a file with 60GB. The first workstation could only store 3GB in the RAM and the rest of the data would be taken from the SSD/HDD which is much slower. The second workstation has the entire file in the fast RAM and the CPU can process the data almost instantly. So its self explenatory that the file on the first workstation would take way longer to process.

@moviepreviews21 Linux is very open and easy to programm software for and there is many professional software that is linux only. Reason why linux also has experienced an increase in popularity is easier to connect many "servers to a server farm", its faster, cheaper and less limited in the options you have and not to forget very stable. But its more used for animations etc and rendering ., windows is mostly used for editing.

@TheJazzluvr My point was that a custom gaming rig is as much "made" by an individual as any other computer is "made" by an OEM. By assembling the components you are making a PC.
Also, a propitiatory OS is not a positive trait, the fact that a single piece of software can run on any computer whether made by Dell, Sony or even homemade, is a huge advantage to PC manufacturers. And since the components aren't made by the OEM's, there's no technical advantage to making the HW and SW together.
@TheJazzluvr i dont mind you using mac but i mind you assuming that most gaming rigs have glowing stuff and leds.. you can get any case, your components are usually inside it so if there is any LEDs you wont even see then, most components don't have LEDs only the case and fans, a lot of cases do not have LEDs anyways, and it is an option, they are not forcing you to go and purchase a glowing case

@policeboy0 i have used both mac and pc. and pc's are generally better for games, especially the choices and the price for the system. But when im editing on final cut or after effects i find macs working better. i find it a lot smoother. garage band is for music too just saying. and when i work with music i use soundtrack pro. look all im saying is it depends on how much you are willing to spend and what you are trying to get out of it.

@moviepreviews21 Well. I am a professional Video editor and if you are serious about editing, rendering or graphic design the mac is trash. Not only the hardware isnt sufficient but also most of the real professional software runs way worse on a mac. Thats als the reason why no big studios use macs. There is not even a decent CAD card for the macpro, which's hardware is outdated anyways. No professional would ever use mac. Sorry that editing thing is a myth apple created through advertising.

@moviepreviews21 Big studios use Linuy server for rendering (mostly from HP) and workstation (custome made mostly but also drom HP and Dell), which are used for editing, animating, graphic design etc. Softwarewise WIndows and Linux are more open 8also for custom made software), it supports technologies like CUDA way better, they also support more professional Software. And also the thats available for Windows/Linuy workstation is far more powerful. f.e there is no Nvidia Quadro 6000 for the mac.

@DerSchachspieler that would be the video exporting, or encoding that would cause the look. And im sure you cant tell which movies are made on final cut compared to avid or media 100. No matter what, its a fact that macs run better on these applications, Final Cut studio, or after effects. Macs just work better on that stuff. Now if you are on pc there are a lot of other applications that you can download that may be cheaper, but may not suit what you want to accomplish.

It is a marketing lie dude, I have been to pretty much all big studios. After Affect and other Adobe programms as well as Auto Desks software and Avid are for available for Windows and run smoother on it. There are not even proper CAD cards available for mac. Its a myth Apple created dude get over it.

And I am a professional editor and also work for big studios in hollywood, so I guess I know what we use for work and there is no mac anywere. And as far as music producers go I know that a lot of them are paid by apple for product placement f.e Swedish House Mafia, Armin van Burren. Soulja Boy... but thats a well known thing anyways.

In the long run macs will last longer. i just switched from a 1 gb ram imac a few days ago. My old computer still out performed other pc s with 2 gb ram and a larger processor. i dont know what studios would have pc's over mac when editing video, aftereffects.

A Macpro doesnt even support that much (max at 64GB), And at some studios i worked on workstations that had 192 GB RAM DDR3, thats 3x more than the maximum of the macpro. @moviepreviews21 I sent you a message in which I included a link were even Windows Vista destroyed Leopard, using After Affects CS4. I know this is old but the test is done BY A MAC MAGAZIN and Snow Leopard still looses as always. And now imagine After Affects CS5.5 (which is even more fine tuned for windows 7) running on a powerful computer than a mac. The mac would get totally destroyed.And also keep in mind that some features are missing on the Mac version of the programm.(call adobe 4 proof)

@moviepreviews21 I ONLY EDIT MOVIES I DO NOT OWN THEM, A (professional cinema) MOVIE ISNT CREATED BY ONE PERSON. And it even says in my contract that I am not allowed to share, distribute or use the material I receive for anything else than working on it. Adobe and also Autodesk and others said many times that their products are tuned for the PC and run better on Winows. I even sent you a link with a benchmark that was done by a MACFORUM and they admitted AE runs better on Windows by far.

@DerSchachspieler If i were running a company that deals mostly with animation, i probably would use pc too, just because they are cheaper and you can get a good computer for a decent price so you could buy more of them which you need while rendering animation. If you can run your whole project from 1 computer mac is a better choice even for the price. i'm not an apple fanboy, from my experience apple has performed better.

@moviepreviews21 I never said that macs are not sufficent for privat/home use although somehow the movies efited in iMovie and FinalCut somehow look cheaply done. Still the mac is NOT better. As i said: CUDA is very important for animation etc, and macs doent support it as good and only old and bad CAD cards are availabe. f.e ther is no Nvidia Quadro 6000 available for the mac and overall the hardware is not up to date.

So with the rest of the money you could upgrade your CPU,RAM or software to the Adobe Production Premium Suite with a CAD card for CUDA. And then the PC will be a lot faster than the mac exspecially if the last of the three possibilities is chosen. (Production Premium Suite + CUDA Card but thats also depends on RAM and CPU).

@moviepreviews21 No I dont think that it runs better but what MacOSX does is using virtual memory, (It uses part of the HDD as "RAM"). You can enable that in Windows too, so there shouldnt be any difference in my opinion. And when I said it depends on RAM and CPU if you should put a CAD card in your PC this was part of the comment below where i listed the different options you have to use the money you save buying a PC to upgrade it.

@moviepreviews21 As far as video editing,... is concerned.Snow Leopard was worse than windows vista for editing etc. The OS plays an important role also. 1.) Adobe, Autodesk etc. programms are fine tuned for Win so they will work better on Win 2.) The OS has to support the best hardware available and Win/Linux does that, mac OS doesnt 3,) The OS should support features like CUDA etc. which Win/Linux does. Mac OSX supports it but it has lots of flaws and there are no good CAD cards available.

@moviepreviews21 Ok that just proofed that you have no idea what you are talking about. You know what RAM is and what it is used for??? The CPU has a Cache, which is much faster "RAM" but this Cache is very small and full "immediately". The Data that you need (programms/files etc.) from the SSD or HDD is stored in the RAM. The data goes from the RAM via FSB to the Cache and the CPU processes it. So to speed up the whole process you need lots of RAM to edit huge files.

@moviepreviews21 Fe. lets say you got a movie thats over 60GB. You put it in you editing programm. Now if you got sufficient RAM. Everything is in the RAM and can be processed much faster. If you dont have sufficient RAM the data is taken from the SSD/HDD which slows down the entire process a lot. Note: This is just a simplified explanation.

I've never messed with a file 60gb but i cant really imagen why it would take more ram to render or export compared to a 3gb 3 minute clip.

@moviepreviews21 Of course the processor plays a very important role but also RAM is very important since while ediitng the whole movie is in the RAM and the effects everything you add to your movie is also added to the RAM. And the preview you see while ediitng is also "saved" on the RAM. This ensures that everything runs fast and fluent. So if you have a a 60 GB file you need lots of RAM so everything runs fluently. Not having sufficient RAM slows everything down.

@moviepreviews21 I am referring to After Effects because you mentioned it. I use a variety of Software. Mostly software like Premiere Pro, which is a "real" editing programm. After Effects is usually used to add visual effects etc.. After Effects got some editing features but it usually isnt used for editing.

@moviepreviews21 As you may know the preview of the movie in After Effect is played from the RAM too. What you can do is setting a certain amount of memory of the HDD to virtual memory, So space of the HDD operates as "RAM". But of course this doesnt replace "real RAM" but it does help to increse the performance. Most people dont configurate that feature properly in Win and that led to the misbelief that macs need less RAM but they dont. Macs just have the virtual memory preconfigured.

Which is faster than the SSD/HDD. but you are right the most important part during the export of a file or rendering process plays the CPU. Note: This is also a simplified explanation.

@moviepreviews21 Just to clarify: Lets say you got a workstation with 3GB RAM and one with 96GB RAM and you want to export or render a file with 60GB. The first workstation could only store 3GB in the RAM and the rest of the data would be taken from the SSD/HDD which is much slower. The second workstation has the entire file in the fast RAM and the CPU can process the data almost instantly. So its self explenatory that the file on the first workstation would take way longer to process.

Reason why linux also has experienced an increase in popularity is easier to connect many "servers to a server farm", its faster, cheaper and less limited in the options you have and not to forget very stable. Apple ain't no saint company but not the only evil either. I just love Apple for making better effort than competition, making their own software and all. Something other manufacturers wouldn't do.
And as I said, you hate Mac? Fine .. because nobody force you to buy one either.

@TheJazzluvr My point was that a custom gaming rig is as much "made" by an individual as any other computer is "made" by an OEM. By assembling the components you are making a PC.
Also, a propitiatory OS is not a positive trait, the fact that a single piece of software can run on any computer whether made by Dell, Sony or even homemade, is a huge advantage to PC manufacturers. And since the components aren't made by the OEM's, there's no technical advantage to making the HW and SW together.

@TheJazzluvr i dont mind you using mac but i mind you assuming that most gaming rigs have glowing stuff and leds.. you can get any case, your components are usually inside it so if there is any LEDs you wont even see then, most components don't have LEDs only the case and fans, a lot of cases do not have LEDs anyways, and it is an option, they are not forcing you to go and purchase a glowing case

@TheCorrelliful Well, funny thing, if you put those two up to each other the Mac would beat out the vaio. I don't know if you've ever tried gaming on one. I'm assuming you haven't. Anyway, I was thinking about JavaScript tests and such.

Will everybody stop all this bullshit about MAC VS PC, I had a PC. now i have a Mac but to be honest, neither one is perfect. so just get what you fell that will do the job to the best of it's abilities, and shut the hell up, because they both are computers at the end of the day.
