At 00:11 she speaks the truth, 'Forbearance is a temporary out of jail card'. After which time interest still piles up and you become a bigger financial slave for the rest of your life in some cases.
.....
Student loans are a criminal enterprise run by criminals who are supported by our government.
Wow. What an incredibly useless video. And @thepunkpatriot you're right, Forbearance is a scam. Here's the banks position "Hey, you've got hardship? No problem. We borrowed the money from the taxpayers at 1.5% and we are charging you 17% per year, sure, take another year to pay, we don't mind... he he he" . Your 30K is over $5k a year in interest alone. What's your payment? Yeah, now you get it.
@halflinks We are over 14 TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT, are you aware how large this number is? Ok, let's hold our student loan debtors feet to the fire and they can and will and should leave this country for greener pastures (and there are many) and then the country by losing it's best and brightest can go down the toilet even faster than it is at the moment. You seem to have much trust in the government and large corporations, you are either a plant or nicely brainwashed.
@halflinks Bankruptcy is allowed for companies to start anew yet we put citizens, students, graduates in the position of a financial slave. If you have yet to see the unfairness of the system which is geared to protect the big boys while screwing over the little guy then you have your eyes or mind closed.
@halflinks It doesn't matter whether you agree with bail outs or not, they have occurred and corporate welfare has been going on forever and continues to this day. Considering that Trillions that have been given already to the Banks, Wall Street, Insurance Companies, etc., all Student loans should be wiped out so that our citizens, the little guy can start fresh and be a productive member of society. A company can declare Bankruptcy yet students with student loans can't. Continued...
@halflinks You want solutions to the college loans, here is a solution; Eliminate all college loans for any borrower and allow young people to start fresh, after all it is only fair after the bailouts to the banks and wall street who failed and bankrupted the nation only to be rewarded by receiving hundreds of billions in bailouts paid by the average citizens.
....
Well do you agree or do you only agree with corporate bailouts and corporate welfare?
@halflinks You just don't get IT. You really have to expand your mind & attempt to understand the totality of the situation & all the variables of every issue. Your reasoning sounds very convenient...I wish you good luck on your student loans and all the other loans you will be paying on for the rest of your life in corporate owned America. Education is largely a crock of sh*t, excepting for a couple of professions and the earning potential of most of those are well below what they claim...I have two MAs from prestigious universities.
Forbearances are not unlimted. They can be refused after certain period of time. Then, no matter what is your situation you will have to start paying your blessed loan. If you can not make payments during a 270 days period. You will default your loan, and that is where the fun begins. You will be hunted down, they will call you a 100 times in a month, they will rack up your loan, take your IT refund and garnish your wages, if you have a job, and during all that time you will be treated as dirt.
this bitch is stupid, you CAN freeze the payments and not pay your student loan for a while. but you CAN NOT freeze the intrest that occurs while you are holding that loan. Student loan is a ripp off and one of the reason this country is fucked up
Women, (if they are pretty) can always get themselves a husband. Men... welp. Sorry, but you better have a useful degree or yer goin to the gutter. Us Gen-Xer's have been serving our gassy Boomer overlords for years and know the score. Sounds like alot of you are just learning, sucks I know.

It work for me ! but then i still do not have the job what i was going to school for :( as i live paycheck to paycheck it suck... and it not easy
wow this cunt is dumb, you cant hold the loan without adding more intrest, have she actually been in student loan debt? you either start paying it or you dont, america is becoming more stupid thx to unfair ripp off student loads, people will stop getting education cause if you think about it, it's not worth it anymore, you can make 50 K a year which i do without a college degree. but if you go to scool to make that much money, you'll be in debt for a long time
That's exactly what I'm going to do. I recently got married and when I finish school I am leaving the country for good and will never pay the loans off. I don't give a shit. This country is going down hill fast anyway. It will never be the same , and you all can have it. I am going where life is simpler. Besides, their are no jobs here anyway and I can't give you what I haven't got. Fuck the greedy lenders anyway.
@BellumSacrumBellum28 Same here. I only wish I would have hit these crooks up for more dough and kept the higher loan refunds, so I could bail on them with no cash. But I had to be "prudent" and borrow only the cost of tuition, live at home, etc. Now I'm still up shit's creek and ready to leave the country. I wish I would have had the foresight to fuck them as badly as they fucked me.
@BellumSacrumBellum28 I am currently living out of country and lord have mercy these loans are giving me a headache. I am very close to doing the same as you...but I hate having to owe people. But hey I dont blame you.
@BellumSacrumBellum28 I was bored couldn't sleep if you must know. Loans suck but you took them out and agreed to pay them back when they came due you knew what you were doing. When people are proud of the fact that they are running from their commitments it bothers me. It's just like dead beat dads. Responsibility is nowhere to be found in this country, welcome to America. I fully plan on paying my 60,000 in loans, not sure why others feel like they can get out of it.
@aaronlosing You are a very nice guy. Remember the old saying about "nice" guys? The big "bad" guys, most of the executives working in banks and big business, aren't as nice and honest...or committed to fulfilling their commitments as you are. Of course, at 18 everyone should understand all the legalese and impact of taking out student loan debt. Especially when they've been brainwashed since kindergarten about the absolute necessity of university and encouraged by admin. to take out debt.
@saintgauden Yes higher education is a necessity the more education you have the more you make. When people take out loans they sign a legal document saying they will pay it back. All my loans are federal and that is all I need. They are at a decent interest rate as well.
So people knowingly took out loans and then when they come due, they run. You knew what were you doing. Nobody forced you to take out loans, YOU made that choice. No banker held a gun to your head. Your choice.
@BellumSacrumBellum28 This is my plan as well. Two years ago I married a Vietnamese lady in Saigon (who has an engineering degree). Seems now I have more family in Vietnam than the couple of self-centered, egotistical, overly competitive family members I have here. Saigon and Vietnam, in general, are among the fastest growing economies in the world. Heck, if I stayed in the US I'd never be out of debt and would eventually have my meager wages garnished at Wal-Mart.
@BellumSacrumBellum28 Have you traveled out of the country (U.S.)? I have & most people don't realize there is a whole world (no pun intended) out there. Most Americans are ignorant of the beauty of other countries, climates, opportunities & so much more. Many Americans mistakenly believe that if they leave the country & go to a foreign country they will be robbed, kidnapped, killed and that the rest of the world is waiting for them to travel to commit these crimes against them. continued..
@MACKATTACK1970 LOL!! I know this comment is two months old but that is so true. There is a whole world out there. What happens is that media makes us scared to leave and to possibly live anywhere else yet they make others outside of the U.S think that we are how I have heard so often, "Pigs" "American Scum" or whatever. I know a girl who is black and is happy in South Korea and her doctors visits for her pink eye was 15 dollars. I am ready to travel my self. You just gotta go through TSA now.
@MACKATTACK1970 The reason why I noted the girl was black because Many African-Americans especially females not all, but a lot, fear traveling to other countries because they fear that they will be hated everywhere else. I used to believe this growing up too. I could not imagine myself a woman and black traveling overseas? The American experience taught me most people hate me. Not now of course I was a young girl then. Hell, I sure will travel now. Anyway, good old comment!
I can only inform you that I have experienced climate, food, culture, friendships, beauty and so much more in my travels and anticipate the day when I can make a move to a foreign land. The problem is more with choice since there are so many wonderful places in the world that I am interested in and so many I have yet to experience.
....
Good luck and all the best in your future and your choices.
You are legally obligated to pay it back. You leaving will only make economic problems worse (indirectly, perhaps). Moving to Mexico is a cop out. You signed the MPN. Pay it back.
I had zero undergrad college debt (public school, would only go private if the endowments made it affordable) and ~120K from medical school (M.D., Doctor of Medicine).Paying it off quite easily. Working hard, too.
I'm paying mine off. I did borrow some but spent it very wisely. "College" means undergraduate only, technically.
If you signed for the loan to go to school...pay it back. Take responsibility. If you didn't get a job....there are four possible reasons: you chose a worthless course of study, your undergrad school lacks reputation, you lack application/interview skills, or bad luck. Though luck.
120K in M.D. program loans is ok with me. I'll be making 400K+ after residency.
@lcvd1 Yes I do. Maybe it is about time for a bailout for the little guy. Leaving financial slavery by moving to another country is not irresponsible, what is irresponsible is not being able to care for yourself or your family by allowing the criminal banksters to make a financial slave of you for possibly the rest of your life.
@veritasviking How exactly does not paying off my student loan increase your student loan? I believe you are low man on the totem pole of a cesspool credit collection agency. Nevertheless please do answer how not paying my student loan increases others student loans.
@veritasviking you missed a major reason. When going to school the career choice might have a great need for people...upon getting out, the economy collapses and your field is decimated. YOU might be fine...the rest of us aren't so lucky. Also alot of us didn't have the money or, didn't want the debt you would accrue from a medical degree. This wasn't always the case where school was more than an average salary of 2 years. our grandfathers could go to school easily, pay it off easily. Not 4 us.
@veritasviking I wanna pay back too. Everybody should go to school. That is what we are taught. The only way out is to get higher education and for most, to get that higher education, you have to take out a loan in order to finish college and land a good job in their dream field. What happened to "You can be anything you want in life" Not just only M.D. Everyone can't be M.D's because there are so many other services needed as well. Not everyone is getting that 400+ such as yourself.
@sfordgg Are your seriouse move to Mexico ?? Have you seen how violent the country has gotten !! Kidnapers target business men, celebrities, and non mexican natives.
@sfordgg lol...there are a lot of countries out there that are as advanced or more advanced than the U.S. None of them are in this Hemisphere, though. Spanish colonial culture, with the help of American interloping, have ensured that. I always see people using Mexico as proof of America's greatness...kinda funny. About the same as proving one's greatness by comparing themselves to the small, idiot kid they beat up...while ignoring all the greatness of the intelligent nerds that laugh at U.
Kids wont pay back their college loans. They will end up moving out of the country for jobs. Its sad but these kids have no way of paying it back. I blame not only them, but their parents. The baby boom generation has to be one of the stupidest generations alive. They made all of their wealth riding a fake inflationary real estate boom and though they were rich. They squandered everything and told their kids debt is good, especially for education, which is not the case.
If you have facebook, there is a group with 200+ thousand members called:
Cancel Student Loan Debt to Stimulate the Economy
There is also a petition which you can find there.
Also, please educate yourself with the issue by going onto the facebook group before responding to this post otherwise you'll assume you know what it is all about without really knowing anything about it.
High school guidance counselors who tell students to go to college without warning them about student loan debt are worse than drug dealers. I'm so glad that the education system in California is getting hit with some colossal cuts because of our state budget disaster. Next month voters will probably turn down Prop. 1A and 1B, which raise taxes mostly for education. I think that's great.
It's worse than that. My mother is a special education teacher in a high school. She's actually had arguments in front of parents with guidance counselors for suggesting that their children with 3rd grade reading levels should go to college instead of steering them towards trades.
the whole system is based on the FALSE belief that higher education is necessary. Our schools are run like corporate businesses, they are meant to make money from you, your parents, etc...These institutions are in bed with financial companies to MAKE MONEY. Hell they even get bailouts now, DO you get a bailout from your defaulted loans ???? no all you get is more fees, interests, to feed that evil system. period.
Get a scholarship, or save up one year's tuition and attend a reasonably priced (non Ivy League) University, and get the highest grades you can. Take one course less than a full-load per semester. You're marks will be higher. Apply like crazy for every award going, put some work into it, ask lots of O's and make yourself known to Prof's and get a file of references built up. If you borrow, it feels like free money, and you spend it too freely. Work summers, and do a practical degree.
Start paying off your loans immediately, even a regular 100.00 payment builds up over the years. Don't ignore them, if you plan to do that, research the law as it pertains to student loans and talk to a trustee or a lawyer. If the payments the bank wants are too high, arrange with a financial advisor (trustee in bankruptcy/lawyer etc) to offer a settlement in writing. Have someone, a firm, a lawyer, a trustee, document the process. Face your problems head on, don't run from them.
If you can't pay for it, for God's sake don't take out student-loans. I've tried to tell people not too, but they argue with me that they have to get an engineering degree from an Ivy League University to get a job. 120 grand for 4 years. God almighty, you'd be in debt forever. Compounding interest, it would double before you knew it. You would be better off getting a loan and buying a house. You can't tell people not to take these loans out though, they say it's 'impractical' not too.
Or you can just focus on the federal loans and not even worry about private student loans if you have little income, then tell them you can't pay. They may sue to try and get a judgment, but if you have nothing they won't get shit anyway. Later on the process, even before court, they're likely to want to settle to 3rd of the amount; could be a great deal if you can pay that out at once. Consumer debt is not a criminal matter, but do watch out for federal student loans as they do matter more.
Id say fuck paying off your loans, just stock up on food and ammo. The system is going to crash and you need to be ready. Fuck the banks, they make the money out of thin air anyway.
Borrowing money with a student loan is worse than borrowing money from a gangster like Christopher in "The Sopranos". This reminds me of those episodes when he loaned Tim Daly money and charged him 1% a week in interest. So forbearance doesn't "stop the clock" (gangster lingo for not charging interest for a limited period of time). Chilling!
This is the worst video I've ever seen with worthless information.

Had 50k in student loans
Became disabled
Interest would bring total debt to over 180k (over 20 years)
Pre Reform bankruptcy....ignored
Affidavits of disability...Ignored
Fought for 11 years
All Loans eventually discharged
It can be done but it's hard and you have to be persistant and obsessive.
beautydaddy 1 year ago
You got them discharged due to your disability? How serious is it?
captainquirk24 1 year ago
I think she means "DEFERMENT", rather than "forebearance".
ticks4ticks4 1 year ago
wow this cunt is dumb, you cant hold the loan without adding more intrest, have she actually been in student loan debt? you either start paying it or you dont, america is becoming more stupid thx to unfair ripp off student loads, people will stop getting education cause if you think about it, it's not worth it anymore, you can make 50 K a year which i do without a college degree. but if you go to scool to make that much money, you'll be in debt for a long time
pkidro 2 years ago 2
you are only going to pay more in interest if you go the forebearance route, might triple the original loan amount.
nice try

That's exactly what I'm going to do. I recently got married and when I finish school I am leaving the country for good and will never pay the loans off. I don't give a shit. This country is going down hill fast anyway. It will never be the same , and you all can have it. I am going where life is simpler. Besides, their are no jobs here anyway and I can't give you what I haven't got. Fuck the greedy lenders anyway.
BellumSacrumBellum28 2 years ago 51
@BellumSacrumBellum28 Same here. I only wish I would have hit these crooks up for more dough and kept the higher loan refunds, so I could bail on them with no cash. But I had to be "prudent" and borrow only the cost of tuition, live at home, etc. Now I'm still up shit's creek and ready to leave the country. I wish I would have had the foresight to fuck them as badly as they fucked me.

BellumSacrumBellum28 1 year ago
@BellumSacrumBellum28 I was bored couldn't sleep if you must know. Loans suck but you took them out and agreed to pay them back when they came due you knew what you were doing. When people are proud of the fact that they are running from their commitments it bothers me. It's just like dead beat dads. Responsibility is nowhere to be found in this country, welcome to America. I fully plan on paying my 60,000 in loans, not sure why others feel like they can get out of it.
aaronlosing 1 year ago
@aaronlosing You are a very nice guy. Remember the old saying about "nice" guys? The big "bad" guys, most of the executives working in banks and big business, aren't as nice and honest...or committed to fulfilling their commitments as you are. Of course, at 18 everyone should understand all the legalese and impact of taking out student loan debt. Especially when they've been brainwashed since kindergarten about the absolute necessity of university and encouraged by admin. to take out debt.
saintgauden 1 year ago

Many Americans mistakenly believe that if they leave the country & go to a foreign country they will be robbed, kidnapped, killed and that the rest of the world is waiting for them to travel to commit these crimes against them. continued..
MACKATTACK1970 6 months ago
@MACKATTACK1970 LOL!! I know this comment is two months old but that is so true. There is a whole world out there. What happens is that media makes us scared to leave and to possibly live anywhere else yet they make others outside of the U.S think that we are how I have heard so often, "Pigs" "American Scum" or whatever. I know a girl who is black and is happy in South Korea and her doctors visits for her pink eye was 15 dollars. I am ready to travel my self. You just gotta go through TSA now.
sheliene12 3 months ago

@BellumSacrumBellum28
You signed it. Pay it.
veritasviking 4 months ago
@veritasviking college is overpriced jobs are at an all time low. its better to leave the country and forget about paying it back.
WisdomThroughLogic 3 months ago
@WisdomThroughLogic
I'll be making 400K+ after residency.
veritasviking 3 months ago
@veritasviking You're an idiot! Do you think most of us will be making 400K/year?
lcvd1 3 months ago
@lcvd1 Leaving the country to avoid paying off your loans is irresponsible. It will indirectly raise costs for everyone else.
veritasviking 3 months ago
@veritasviking Don't you think WallStreet and the banks that own our Federal Reserve are more irresponsible than plain old me?
lcvd1 3 months ago
@lcvd1 Yes I do. Maybe it is about time for a bailout for the little guy. Leaving financial slavery by moving to another country is not irresponsible, what is irresponsible is not being able to care for yourself or your family by allowing the criminal banksters to make a financial slave of you for possibly the rest of your life.
MACKATTACK1970 3 months ago
@veritasviking How exactly does not paying off my student loan increase your student loan? I believe you are low man on the totem pole of a cesspool credit collection agency. Nevertheless please do answer how not paying my student loan increases others student loans.
MACKATTACK1970 3 months ago
@lcvd1 It's alright, neither will he/she/it make what he/she/it claims.
MACKATTACK1970 3 months ago
@veritasviking you missed a major reason. When going to school the career choice might have a great need for people...upon getting out, the economy collapses and your field is decimated. YOU might be fine...the rest of us aren't so lucky. Also alot of us didn't have the money or, didn't want the debt you would accrue from a medical degree. This wasn't always the case where school was more than an average salary of 2 years. our grandfathers could go to school easily, pay it off easily. Not 4 us.
WisdomThroughLogic 3 months ago
@veritasviking I wanna pay back too. Everybody should go to school. That is what we are taught. The only way out is to get higher education and for most, to get that higher education, you have to take out a loan in order to finish college and land a good job in their dream field. What happened to "You can be anything you want in life" Not just only M.D. Everyone can't be M.D's because there are so many other services needed as well. Not everyone is getting that 400+ such as yourself.

I think that's great.
waverly2468 2 years ago
@waverly2468
It's worse than that. My mother is a special education teacher in a high school. She's actually had arguments in front of parents with guidance counselors for suggesting that their children with 3rd grade reading levels should go to college instead of steering them towards trades.
VigilanteNighthawk 10 months ago
Avoid doing this if you can. But it is a good option if you really can't make the monthly payments.
managestudentloans 2 years ago
the whole system is based on the FALSE belief that higher education is necessary.

Work summers, and do a practical degree.
calsurf21 2 years ago
fuck corporate america for putting its own people in the gutter. satan will get yer ass.
Natas6689 2 years ago 2
Start paying off your loans immediately, even a regular 100.00 payment builds up over the years. Don't ignore them, if you plan to do that, research the law as it pertains to student loans and talk to a trustee or a lawyer. If the payments the bank wants are too high, arrange with a financial advisor (trustee in bankruptcy/lawyer etc) to offer a settlement in writing. Have someone, a firm, a lawyer, a trustee, document the process. Face your problems head on, don't run from them.
calsurf21 2 years ago
JUST DON'T GO TO COLLEGE IDIOTS!
Natas6689 2 years ago

Consumer debt is not a criminal matter, but do watch out for federal student loans as they do matter more.

what about the banks use of illegal considerations when giving loans out?

Borrowing money with a student loan is worse than borrowing money from a gangster like Christopher in "The Sopranos". This reminds me of those episodes when he loaned Tim Daly money and charged him 1% a week in interest. So forbearance doesn't "stop the clock" (gangster lingo for not charging interest for a limited period of time). Chilling!
