@alralda I heard from Christiane herself that Detlef died several years ago from an drug overdose. I don't know if you can remember Stella from the book? She died in 2006 of an alcohol overdose.
The German version is better imo. The book is even better yet. This is one of the most realistic movies about street heroin - kid prostitution in this European region at that timeframe...
