Worked with some 15-18 year old girls incarcerated at Juvenile Hall in a major US city last night, and we examined the lyrics of this piece along with four other songs, as poetry. Hands down they all thought this was by far the most interesting with the most emotional depth and are extremely excited about hearing the song next week.

Would be proud...I performed the original classic in a concert...I wish I coud have performed it like this...R.I.P. Miss Nina Simone...we appreciate your music!!!
