beautiful idea! and I agree long over due! it's wonderful to see the people who care and look after us working so hard despite having problems themselves. I think it makes them that much better at their jobs!
What a wonderful undertaking....nurses can be very critical - one to another - but it seems there is acceptance within your very "human" organization. Good job!
There is a "get out of jail free" card - if an employer claims that accommodating a disabled employee will reduce productivity, reduce quality, or negatively affect their bottom line. I was denied accommodation on this basis, and when I contacted disability lawyers (several), was told the burden of proof that they were unwilling, not unable, to accommodate rested with me and that this can never be proven.
There are a lot of us out there. Some can't say they are, because if they disclosed, they'd lose their jobs. Or be given such heavy loads that they'd be pushed to quit or get too sick.
I'm a nurse, but I can't work anymore and have just come to grips with the fact that I can't. I'm also a teacher and a wannabe computer nerd. I worked 1986 to late 2008 with Fibromyalgia, since 1997 with Chronic Fatigue added to that. I have a lot of other chronic conditions that I won't list out, too.

There is a reason why there are laws such as the ADA, to protect people if and when they disclose they have a disability.
