  • I've tried the same experiment with the china glaze blue "frost bite" and by the fourth day it was only chipping very little on the tips of two nails. Also, the color was not faded at all. So i would recommend the Blue "Frost bite" color. Its very "loud" and beautiful, I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. I would for sure use it again.

  • where can i get china glaze?

  • @OhSnapRayssa Sally's Beauty Supply store :)

  • you should purchase china glaze for audrey and do another video like this but with opi

  • you're kidding me......its nail polish....wtf is the big deal. hhahah. how are you going to expect perfection from nail polish...........what is this???

  • I just stumbled on you videos, the OPI one was first and after reading the comments lead me here to this one. So here is what I think and have learned about both. Glazes and lacquers are different in the fact that the lacquer is a lot thicker. I've used both OPI and China Glaze. Why is it a big deal that China Glaze faded but not when OPI faded out.

  • Hey julie did u add a base coat for ur left hand?

  • Maybe you shouldnt have used this polish on the experiment. Its meant to be a sheer nail polish. Most Frosty nail polish is.

  • Um sorry Julie but with the OPI you acted like it wasnt a big deal that it didnt look as shiny but the china glaze you complained...

  • this girl needs to stick with the makeup videos. shes sounds like an idiot.

  • i just want to know why she did her Tuesday review in the car?

  • china glaze sucks it just chips off so much!

  • 2 coats is not bad most nail polishes you have to put 3 coats on so shut up

  • she was showing off her bb and its the old one haha x

  • @1998rihannafan Well thats cuz this video was posted in 2009...

  • she was showing of her bb

  • i own 2 china glaze nailpolishes and the colors are sooo gorgeous but for me personally they chip so easily and the paint is just too thick for my personal taste. i'm sure people aren't lying when they say it's great it's just for me personally it doesn't work all that well...although if i see another cute color from them i'll buy it...

  • if you dont like the brush marks i would recomend barry m nail paint :)

  • Thats so funny! the first two colors you mentioned were the first two china glazes i ever bought/used! beautiful colors! And i dont think anything you said about thataway is really true!?

  • I use china glaze nail polish's all the time and i love them! I never have any problem with streaking or fading and i love the brush. I'm a perfectionist too and i just think its how you apply it, i can use 1$ n.y.c. nail polish from target and get excellent results. And i do agree you do kind of complain alot! : /

  • I like you, JulieG! Your video was very helpful. Don't pay attention to all the negative comments posted here. There are a lot of nasty people in the world who like to vent their anger & frustrations thru the computer because they are too cowardly to deal with their actual life problems in person. You are beautiful!!! Looking forward to more of your videos! =]

  • I LOVE THAT FLYING DRAGON COLOR!!!!!

  • I bet her own JulieG nail polish needs 2 coats.

  • this chic is a complaining retard

  • OH GOD NOT TWO COATS! ANYTHING BUT THAT!!!

  • It's really not that sheer... i always do 2 coats. You have proper high expectations if you think it'll be perfect in 1 coat. And it looks fine! And don't paint your cuticals!

  • the way her camera makes her s's sound annoys me. i think im getting a headache

  • @IheartConverse121 hahha it's not her camera, its how she talks and her mouth haha thats how my friends mom is.... hahah

  • I don't understand why you complain about having to put two layers on - that's totally normal, if you really use nail polish all the time, you should have known that

also, with OPI you didn't complain about the shine fading, but you did complain with China Glaze... why?

  • It's a frosty/metallic polish, Julie. The streak marks are supposed to show up.

  • u usually have to put two coats

  • your mouth annoys me

  • could you show your phone one more time i dont think i saw it enough...

  • Ur the only person i ever saw that expects perfection from the first coat. For a nail polish " expert " u really are missing that part!

  • @popprincessamberly Because of the comparison to OPI.... Always opaque in one coat.

  • @popprincessamberly thats true except the this one was really sheer.

  • i have the china glaze shocking pink.. and im a little bit but just a little bit disapointed because when i apply it it leaves marks of the brush... but after the protection coat its ok... but i love those colours cause they are crazy colours! :D

  • the colour u choose is distracting

  • I love the china glaze that away!!!!!!

  • I only use china glaze and i love it, it wears really well and if you put on a good top coat, it stays. who cares if you need 2 coats, you have to with most nailpolishes anyways.

  • U R A COMPLAINER!!!!

  • wow, you have to put on a second coat, quit complaining. China Glaze is a good brand. At the salon they always apply 2 coats, and the use the top brands.

  • ...no ones going to be looking at ur nail tht closley CHIL OUT

  • are we acutally watching a vidoe on how to paint our nails and to see someone complain abt a brush??

  • Wow ur upset you have to put on 2 coats of nail polish to get the full color....

  • most nail polishes aren't going to be opaque in 1 coat

  • That color looks great on you! I think it's neat that you showed and talked about the brush; I haven't come across very many polish reviews that cover the brush and that's something important to me. I'm picky about brushes, lol. Great vid!

  • I believe the protocol for amazing nails is a base coat, 1-3 coats of color (depending on how opaque it is) and 1 top coat. I use a Sally Hanson nail hardener/base for the base coat, and I also paint the tips of the nail. Then the color, with one coat at least covering the very tip/ends of the nail, then a base coat. Popping in a movie helps so you don't waste time just waiting.

  • PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE DO A SINFUL COLORS EXPERIMENT!!!!!

  • mine is not ciped or fad

  • for some reason i LOVE how u paint ur nails :P

  • ....It looks splotchhy on the first coat? I thought that happened no matter what nail polish you used? And that you have to apply two coats?...

  • I hate your camera. It always looks out of focus.

  • @pancakesNbakon sometimes you dont have the time to apply 2 coats, cuz of the time you have to wait from one coat to the other, and for the price you pay for that, is not enough quality

  • i still like finger paints more. one coat and it covers it up and lasts longer than china glases.cg´s colours are fabulous but the application itself sux.

  • it was fine at first

  • Jeeze, your in luv with nail polish! You dont need to make it all perfect! People aren't going to look at your nails the whole time.

  • With all nailpolishes you have to put 2 layers...

  • does china glaze nail polish get thick or dry out?

  • Julie, why? You're totally over analyzing it. It's a frosty nail polish of course the fine glitter is going to settle where to brush strokes are. How else would they settle? Also, it's okay if you have to do two coats, it's average.

  • THE STREAKYNESS IS THE CRACKLE EFFECT... ITS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE EVEN... DURH

  • @pancakesNbakon these nail polishes are expensive......

and shes letting us know if its worth the money.

  • I'd also like to add that I've never come across a brand of nail polish that looked good with just one coat, or that lasted more than a day or 2 without chipping. Hence when u go to a salon to get ur nails done they ALWAYS put two coats. It's just he way to go.

  • @pancakesNbakon I agree, I don't even buy nailpolish by the brand, but rather by the colours that I like. And personally I find that ALL brands need 2-3 coats to last a long time. Not only that but I find nail polish bottles usually dry out or get old before I have ever get the chance to finish a bottle so who cares how many coats are needed sheesh lol.

  • @pancakesNbakon Lol indeed !

  • You... really don't like china glaze do you.

  • Comment removed

  • oh no! two coats!?? you wont die.. & +++ no one is going to examine your nails..

  • Funny465Girl

SO LAME NOT TRUE OR IT WOULD BE ON THE NEWS!!!!

    Duh!

  • @Funny465Girl duh but why ruin the fun

  • complaning video it sounds to me

  • your really ment to use 2 coats anyway thats whats recommended on nearly EVERY nail polish bottle :/ theyr great !

  • thiis is so stuiped u . the girl that is making the video is ugly

  • @shaelynn61 wow your so lame LMAO

  • 5.99???! it 3.95 for me!

  • Stop complaining about how u had to put a second coat........ that is what u r supposed to do! U R A COMPLAINER!!!!

  • @MzSuperWoman143 she is not a complainer. You are the complainer saying that. This video is how the china glaze worked. You are supposed to say if it is sheer or not, the brush, etc. That is obvious

  • @MzSuperWoman143 Ik anoyying and I hate her voice

  • @rainbowgirl1124 UGH WHAT?is her voice supposed to b like perfect?!jeez!

  • @MzSuperWoman143 omg she just said that she had to put on a second coat.she didn't complained or anything.stop trying to search for a reason to pick on her you hater

  • @MzSuperWoman143 why are you complaining about her REVIEWING!!!! Get a life. its not that serious its youtube

  • Stop complaining about how u had to put a second coat........ that is what u r supposed to do!

  • Oh my gosh you look just like the girl in icarly!

  • darn you and your beautiful nails grr jk :)

  • Maybe you can put white under the "ugly brown" It will probably look like a pretty color if it were more solid instead of sheer :D

  • oh and everyone says all nail polishes require two coats but NONE of my OPI do. i have alot of them too, and it shows up the color in the bottle with 1 coat. and i never do a top coat and my nail polish has lasted 5 or more days.....

  • okay i know some people like top coats and all that but i KNOW i am not the only one who doesnt. no matter what top coat i use it chips faster. and im pretty sure a bunch of you are gonna be all "top coats are better, blah blah..." but honestly .... i dont think so. im not saying one of us is right or wrong but i just think it depends on your own preferences and your experience with the polish. ive used many brands and found that w/o a top coat, or w/o 2 coats, the polish lasts longer.!!

  • could you do an experiment on sinful colors

  • @pancakesNbakon she is just trying to help us to see which brand we should buy , so we wont waste money .

  • i don't get how girls can wear nail polish for days without chipping. im lucky if my polish goes one day...and ive tried everything.

  • I have this color!!!

  • I love China Glaze because of the big selection of colours but when i put it on without a topcoat il be lucky if it stays on until the end of the day.

  • you nails are scary, but nyway i have worn china glaze for up to 2 weeks

  • I really liked this video. Can you tell that I'm into nail polish???

  • i like this brand and orly, and OPI b/c none of them test on animals :)

  • You have to apply a second coat with pretty much every nail polish. -.-

  • they are 2.90 on transdesign:)

  • your nails are sooo long

  • sorry to break the news to you sweetie, but most polishes require at least two coats. and the polish you wore was a frost, so brush strokes are to be expected. i find it hard to blieve you based your "experiment" by using ONE polish from china glaze..really?

  • I ALWAYS put on a top coat, if not for the shine, it's for keeping the nailpolish on my nails as long as possible..

  • @jolixx93 i never put on a top coat because when i do, my nail polish chips/ peels .. i find that the least amount of product you put on, the longer it stays.

  • wow u r a busy girl ur calender is jam packed

  • i luv ur vid

  • EVERYTHING NEEDS 2 COATS!!! and the streakyness is because its a frost, all frosts do that and it has nothing to do with the brush! Gahh! i luvs u but... grrr

  • march 26 is my sister birthday

  • China Glaze is my favorite by far out of all other nail polishes, and I have SO many brands!! Some brands I have are very expensive, and I still always love China Glaze the very best! YOu can see brush stroke patterns on the super lustrous shimmery polishes of theirs but I happen to really like lustrous shimmers. :)

  • When you said shocking pink I was like WHAAA?! I am painting my nails right now with that. legit, I am. XD

  • hi julie! Great outfit at W-day!!! love ya <3 <3 <3

  • I think you have to try different china glaze polishes until you lable china glaze as a brand with poor quality, uneven finish or sheer.

  • @Mentalongsm Definately, because some are made to be sheer

  • Hey. this was 2 years ago! I'm so frickin late

  • lol i knew u had a blackberry! rofl just cuz u look like a blackberry person xD

  • Random, you kinnda remind me of Rachel off Glee..

  • China Glaze is GREAT!

i dont understand why for the other brands you picked a creme finish

and then for China Glaze you picked a frost that is a more sheer finish...but w/e.

just saying from my experience...it is amazing for the price! you can buy them from e-tailers for around $2.50-$2.75 a bottle! thats amazing for the quality! :)

  • im in love with your nails!

  • okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • why do u hv so many then? lol..

  • I Order the chinaGlaze shocking pink nali polish but i noticed it didnt look like yours . I wanted to know if your was neon?

  • All nail polish requires at least 2 - 3 coats. As for the streaks you are going over your nails too many times with the brush per coat. xx

  • china glaze has differnt finishes that one is a frost which is thin i love the cream finish and satin

  • your not getting an even coverage is because your goinh over the polish two many times. Try starting near the cutical and press down and ran out the brush the sweep down to the side of nail. do it again on the other side then once down the middle. It should look perfect after that:)

  • china glaze has great nail polish

  • Diva Bride is made for french tips. it's supposed to be like that.

  • This is my opinion, China Glaze is an awesome brand, put on two or three coats and live your life - I mean for the price you pay a couple of coats wont kill you. Plus, having the same varnish during a whoooooooole week ??!! COME ON !! **lol**

  • Insta dry experiant,Hd,revlon, nicole, sally handsen and maybelinee !!!!

  • were is china glaze is sold? i want to buy them!

  • @vickie2491 I get mine at Sally Beauty Supply

  • Mr Zeldageek is watching this because he can't get a real girlfriend. How poor, he has to go on you tube and watch a girl who posts videos about nails. Get a life, man.

  • @pancakesNbakon

Yeah, I agree that it's pretty ridiculous to argue over two coats or one lol..

but for you, you may just pick a color and put it on real easily, but for me, I like to pick out a nice color i really like or haven't worn in a while, and then I usually do designs with it (so i end up picking a few colors) I'm really into nail polish and certain brands and colors because, basically I'm bored so I mess with my nails a lot...

what I'm saying is, painting nails is sort of a hobby now

  • you people are REALLY serious about nail polish....it's nail polish, you paint it on and go. I'm glad people do these videos, I want to know this.

  • I do not understand why everyone is being so hard on this girl. I have tried so many CG nail polishes and I have the brush SO much! It does not do anything for my nails at all. I hate how thin the colours are, 2 coats is not even enough to get a true feeling for the colour. I can not deal with China Glaze, very disappointing for me PERSONALLY!

  • You're nails are really sexy! Even though I'm a guy, I'd love to get a manicure from you. And if you were my girlfriend, I'd fuck your brains out everyday!

  • @MrZeldageek if your a guy why are you watching this?

  • Yeah agreed. I like China Glaze but I dont like that color.. to happy.

  • Yeah agreed. I like China Glaze but I dont like that color..

  • kk china glaze is really good if u know how to use them properly

  • yeah, uhh, that nail polish was pretty fricken good. it looked awesome, it only used 2 coats, and it stayed on your nails PERFECTLY the whole week. i don't know what nail polish you usually use, but i don't se how it could possibly be any better than that. just sayin.

  • nice nail shape

  • I sort of think with all brands of polish the coverage really, REALLY depends on the color you have. Frosty colors really don't tend to go on opaque and I think that's across the board rather than specifically one brand.

  • ah,im sad now cause i looked at the date and it was before june 25th and before the world shook......

  • why would u not put a top coat on the polish.

and i think china glaze is a great brand.

i have over 30 china glaze polish.

    and i love them!

  • @sararuan0312 lucky i only have like 11 :(

  • @SuperKK1998

    lol buy some more :)

  • @sararuan0312 I love them too, the color choices are amazing but sadly they use Formaldehyde Resin (known to cause cancer) in most if not all of their polishes...OPI used to idk if they still do but I stopped wearing any polishes that had that as an ingredient :(

  • @sararuan0312 She wants to see how it holds up on its own.

  • @sararuan0312 actually, all of my nail polish ( except China Glaze) do not need a top coat . thankfully i do not own many china glaze so i do not need a topcoat. i dont even own a topcoat anymore . so..... ya. the least amount of nail polish u put on (including a top coat) the longer it stays on with out chipping. so not putting on a top coat is to test the quality.

  • Can you buy china glaze offline too ?

  • this doesnt faze me at all i LOVE china glaze , most colors you only need one coat

  • you look so thin here

  • It depends on what you do on a daily basis. Some folks work with their hands more than others. Even my Sephora nail polish chips before 7 days with multiple coats.

  • u always have to but 2 coats and a clear coat of nail polish! ALWAYS

  • I really hate that people listen to what you say about nail polish because you are woefully uneducated on the subject. May i recommend MUA's nailboard

  • @SatinLucy makeupalley's nail board is pretty awesome. LOTS of china glaze fans over there.

  • In sweden (where I live) they cost 99 SEK which is extremely expensive. I can buy better polishes from Depend that costs 25 SEK.

I hate China Glaze. Too bad that they have the colours that I love. xD

I regret buying the 7 polishes I bought ): Waste of money...!

  • I don't know any nail techs that like China Glaze over any other brands. It doesn't stay on as well as other brands.

  • @killianpolizzi

That's weird because I just took off my China Glaze that I wore 7 days and it had no chips. I have never had a polish wear that long. OPI has never lasted like that and I hate Orly. I haven't tried Essie or Zoya yet but I have two new bottles of Essie to try next.

  • @rjones

UPDATE....I tried 2 shades of Essie and wanted to like it but I hated it. It was thin and took 3 coats to get the color. It bubbled on some nails and peeled and chipped. It did that within 2 days. So, guess I won't be an Essie user.

I still prefer China Glaze...best I've ever used and not a chip in 8 days. I have thin nails that peel and break easily and have tried so many thru the yrs.(I'm 58). I don't care for Orly but OPI is good.

  • i just bought ruby pumps i love but the problem is that i can t paint my nails good the first one i got was spontanious pretty colour

  • i just bought ruby pumps i love but the problem is that i can t paint my nails good

  • Which top coat do you use?

  • All nail polishes require 2 coats.

  • You should do a review on the Savina nail polishes. You can get them at any Nordstom rack for $3.95 and I bought one the other day and used it and went back today for more. The bottle is almost identical to the China Glaze packaging. I can't seem to find any info on the brand anywhere and the website on the bottle doesn't work, but the reviews I've seen from people really like it and personally I don't think I will use anything else. :)

  • how you get long nail...(request)

  • @nishababynails eat lots of calcium and vitamin A to keep them healthy and wear gloves when doing garden work and cleaning especially when washing dishes. don't use your nails to pull out staples off paper, open mail or packages, and opening with cans of soda. file them regularly and apply nail growth polish instead of colored polish to keep them healthy and long. moisturize your hands and try not to bite your nails. :D

  • China Glaze is very hit and miss. Some are great, go on smoothly and evenly, dry quickly, and stay on for days. But others are streaky, take for-EVER to dry (and smudge when they do...), and chip and peel badly. I like that they have every color imaginable. Some are really great (especially "For Audrey" and "Mystery Muse") but there have been others that I don't like very much.

  • Gah, this kills me... All nail polish requires two or more coats x____x

  • @layladylay25 obviously you have never tried the avon polishes. Those are good with just one coat. If you put two coats three it will all look the same.

  • @mshersheyskiss12 With all nail polishes it is very accepted that two coats minimum is required for a polish... Go to any nail blogger's site, it's just how to get the best wear out of a polish.
